Memories of Childhood pt. 1

KJ didn't write his name on the letter because he knew that Raiju was smart enough to piece everything together. Especially because of the things KJ said to him at the Training Ground.

After placing everything on the ground in front of Raiju's door.... KJ quickly knocked on the door and ran off towards his house. He smirked as he thought about the bright future waiting for him. After enough walking, KJ finally got home.

KJ wildly swung the door open and went over to Kabal's room. Kabal looked much better. He regained his usual colour and his skin looked to be more durable. All the injuries were basically gone and he was fast asleep. Kabal was snoring peacefully so KJ left to go back to his room.

He laid his head on his soft and cold pillow. It was relaxing and brought him peace and clarity. He thought to himself....... what's next?

Hmmm, let's see. I started off by venturing to the Endless Abyss. I came here in order to gain power. Power is needed in order to rule. I've taken the Golden Dragon and I'll be growing as time passes on. I can use the Endless Abyss as my main base of operations for now. As a future strength of mind, I need to make connections. Sindra respects me and Ayla does as well. Ayla is still a bit suspicious though. King Alfin believes anything that I spew because I'm his 'inheritor'. An inheritor that he possibly could've never met.... he just had to pounce on me. Also, he believes I'm working together with the Dragon and that we've been communicating. I'd believe it myself, to be honest. There's literally no way a mortal could form a connection with a being if the being didn't want to form the connection. Also.... only Alfin himself knows about the Golden Dragon. He literally had no choice but to believe. I'll form a connection with Raiju... I can make him a pillar for the Endless Abyss and a general in my army. I'll focus a bit more on my connections I guess. I need to speak with the Golden Dragon tomorrow. I also need to reach the Spirit Connection Realm... the princess's wedding should be taking place in around a year's time.

And while swimming in his thoughts he eventually fell fast asleep. KJ had his eyes closed for an untold amount of time. He finally opened his eyes to a bright room. He got up and stretched just to greet Kabal in the kitchen. Kabal was making breakfast and they both ate and conversed about what KJ's been doing since he left.

After Kabal finished eating he got up and walked directly over to the courtyard.

KJ was slightly surprised. "Oh, so you've become a masochist during my time away?" KJ slapped his knee in laughter. "I haven't beaten you down in so long you've actually been missing it? This can't be reality."

Kabal was already sitting cross-legged on the cold ground. His eyes were closed as he replied. "Pain is temporary. Also..... the pain of losing a loved one is far greater than any physical pain I could face." Kabal's face was as calm as water but the pain in his heart could be seen on KJ's face.

Kabal's past wasn't so simple. KJ's eyes slightly welled up as he thought of his childhood.

The memory was so distant yet so vivid. When KJ was around the age of 8 he left his family village to go and explore. He went deep into the forest trail. He followed the path specifically and made sure he didn't lose his way.

He was wearing a cute adventuring hat. He wore red pants and a red shirt with a cartoon style sun on it. He had innocent brown eyes, untainted by the external world. He was pale and delicate, he had a shiny lustrous head full of hair. He smiled joyfully as his surroundings exited him.

Little KJ stopped to glance innocently at different fruits and animals. He was on his way out of the forest when he heard a rustling sound come from a bush. He thought it was a little cute brown bunny. He thought he might've seen its puffy tail disappear into the bush.

RUSTLE RUSTLE SSHHHHH

Little KJ waddled over to the bush and playfully pounced at it. However….. the thing that was waiting for him wasn't playful at all. Little KJ was violently yanked from the ground and yeeted into the bush. His two tiny feet were instantly pulled off the ground and brought to the other side.

Now KJ was dangling in the air from his fragile wrist. A burly man in all black was holding KJ in the air. He had a black garb masking his appearance.

Little KJ: Waah, what's happening? Can you guys help me get home? I went off on the wrong path

KJ turned behind him to point towards his home. "I live not too far in that directio-" The burly man delivered a swift chop to the side of KJ's neck when he was looking in the other direction. KJ's delicate neck was easily manipulated. He fell unconscious almost immediately.

The burly man's name was Kaballa.
