When it was time to eat again Kaballa finally made another appearance. "Oh KJ my boy it looks like you've been losing some weight. Don't you worry a bit about that I'll give you as much as you need. Oh skinny boy it looks like you've been putting on some weight. Is it due to the two fresh corpses over there? You've been taking their food and they died of starvation. What a terrible child you are." PTOOEY. Kaballa spat directly onto the face of the skinny boy. He dragged the corpses out of the cage and swung the bodies over his back. "You guys eat up. I'll be back with a fresh batch of kids after I deal with these two useless fellows."
A fresh stain of blood was left from inside the cage stretching all the way to who knows where.
KJ was frightened and shaking. He was only around 8, he was still a naive little child. The skinny boy held KJ and the entire time. He offered his warmth and hopefully with his sincerity he offered love as well. KJ finally stopped shaking and looked over to the skinny boy. He was clearly frightened by his tone of voice. "Uhhhh, uhhhh. We've been close for this long yet I don't know your name. I'm KJ if you didn't know."
The skinny boy looked slightly confused. "Me? I have no name, everyone just calls me skinny boy."
KJ held onto the boy's arm. "Are we gonna end up like them? I don't want to look like that ever!" KJ cried and tried to look away during the previous acts but he couldn't cover his ears well enough. He still heard every bit and was haunted by the memories in his nightmares.
The skinny boy wrapped his arms around him and brought him closer. "No one has ever offered me food in this cage. No one has offered me friendship or warmth but you have. You're different and I hope you never change. I can help you escape but you must promise to live a fulfilling life. One that's enough for both of us." The skinny boy was speaking very seriously.
Little KJ wiped his tears from his delicate face. "Hmph what do you mean by that? You have to live your own fulfilling life. I can't do it for both of us….. you know that's way too much pressure for a little kid."
Little KJ looked a little nervous but decided to speak up. "Hey….. do you think Kaballa is gonna touch us like he did the other kids."
The skinny boy moved his head from side to side. "I've been here since as long as I remember and I've grown used to the things that take place in this cave. But for as long as I remember… Kaballa hasn't touched me inappropriately once. However he has toyed with those close to me in the past." The skinny boy's calm lonely eyes filled with a bit of love but mostly a deep hatred. "It looks like he has a special infatuation with you. Maybe he's waiting to fatten you up. I'm not completely sure but he has a weird fetish with you."
Little KJ: Ummm what's a fetish??
The skinny boy let out a slight laugh in response. He thought deeply for a while before switching the subject. "Never mind about that kind of stuff. I can tell you what it means when we get out of this damn cave. You gave me hope and a reason to move on." The skinny boy reached behind his back and brought out two sharp white bones.
Little KJ: Waaaah what are those. Ewwwww they're stinky
The skinny boy hid them once more. "Remember when Kaballa took the other two out of the cage?
Little KJ: Yeah what about it?
Skinny Boy: Well we needed a way out and they gave us the perfect method. Ahn was already covered with scratches and bruises, she was obviously in a fight. Her boyfriend was also dead on top of her but none of us had a scratch. This means that the fight had to occur with only them two and not include either of us. With this in mind I walked over while you were asleep and clawed into the corpse of Ahn. I reached deep within and pulled out her entire spine. It'll be our weapon against Kaballa when the time comes
KJ seemed worried and a bit scared and the boy picked up on it right away.
Skinny Boy: Don't worry….. the blood won't be on your hands. I'll get everything done. The only thing that matters is getting you to safety
KJ wasn't sure of all the details but he nodded incessantly. If there's anyone he could trust in this cave it would be this no-name boy beside him.
KJ cried many nights while staying here but this place had hardened him. Either that or he had grown desensitized to his environment. He seemed a bit more mature…. Like he had seen the many different faces of a human.
