KJ: Kabal, you know what to do, I spoke to you earlier today
Kabal nodded and kept up the pace. He pushed against Raiju and tried to deliver another palm strike. This time Raiju took it more seriously. He shuffled his sword around and this time Kabal made contact with the sword.
Kabal's hand struck the sword and it rang vehemently.
Kabal: Damn that fucking sword. I can still feel the ringing in my bones
KJ: Hah, if that was anyone else they probably would have either broken their own hand or even fracture their forearm
KJ: Don't stop! Keep it up!
Kabal pressed forward with a flurry of palms.
BANG BANG BANG
Raiju blocked as many as he could but Kabal's speed was far too much for him. A few cleanly landed on his body and he was pushed even further back. He was now breathing deeply...
Kabal was happy at his growth. "Raiju you may be stronger than me but you don't know how to actively use that strength. The stances you are taking are obviously offensive stances."
Raiju: I needed time to gauge the opponent
Kabal: So will when you finish gauging? When you've already lost or have taken substantial damage?
Kabal pushed forward and began to target Raiju's legs. "Raiju, do not let your emotions get ahead of you. I will give you a bit of truth that KJ has told me or a small hint."
Kabal: Raiju….. you're big and strong but that also makes you slower and clumsy. You could probably beat me if you had your spear. Don't just strike the poses, try to fluidly use them during the battle. When I push offensively…. You're clearly awkward on your feet
KJ: I think that should be enough for today. Kabal, keep it up. All you need to do is get used to your body. Raiju, remember what Kabal said and take it to heart. If the stances don't work defensively…. Try then offensively. Even if you're left open. It doesn't matter if you win as long as you learn and grow from your loss. It's a friendly spar, not a life and death battle
........................…..
Week 1 of Sparring - Raiju vs Kabal
During the first week, it was mostly Kabal getting the better of Raiju. He was clumsy on his feet but he managed strike offensively here and there. Raiju was slowly getting used to the sword technique, with enough time he would perfect it.
They were in the courtyard once again.
KJ: Start whenever you feel like
Kabal once again took the offensive. His stance made him look as if he was drunk. His punches looked to be slow and uncoordinated but he would turn and speed up his attacks elusively. It combined to be a very tricky fighting style.
Kabal shot his palm out and this time Raiju hushed offensively in his stance. His sword slid across Kabal's arm and created a long cut. Blood slowly began trickling down. Kabal didn't mind, he continued his pursuit.
Kabal leapt into the air and went for Raiju's throat. His feet were inches away until..... Raiju turned to the side and rolled with the kick. His elbow smashed into the stomach of Kabul and pushed him away.
Raiju was quite proud. "It seems like I'm getting better, wouldn't you say KJ?" Raiju looked over at KJ.
Kabal: Focus on your opponent, this battle isn't over. Kabal didn't spend much time on the ground as he leapt back up. His explosive power was unlike anything Raiju had seen
Raiju: You just don't get tired!
Kabal: I'm confident in taking a beating
Kabal slid underneath Raiju and pounced towards his back. He went to connect his fist with Raiju's spine but then a sword swept inches away from his face.
