Nicolas Burial
She turned and said angrily, "But you were the ones with my husband,right? Did you not touch him when you were together?
Dino was beginning to fear, she was interrogating them like they were criminals.
Miguel knew nothing about drugs before, he do hear about drug lords being arrested and some were killed. He used to work under Mr Diego. He never knew his boss was a drug lord.
Back then Miguel was very poor and he wanted to marry Camia, but her parents refused because he was poor. But because of his love for her, he started the drug business and...boom...he became rich. He decided to start a legal business, Laura pizza, so people will not suspect his wealth.
He met Dino in a bar and they became friends. Miguel told him about his business and promised to pay him if he can protect him. Dino accepted and that was when he became Miguel's ally.
They never told Nicolas. He will never do illegal things with them even if they were families.
"All our leads failed. This is not going to be easy, Ms Bautista" the police said
"You need to arrest the demon that killed my husband" she was furious
"Okay ma'am" he turned and left
"Should I take you home?" Miguel asked
"No thanks, I will go home myself" she refused
"Okay"
She left the hospital and took a cab home. She got home four in the morning. Leonel was awake, probably he was waiting for his mom. The door knob turned, he got up from the chair and ran to the door.
"Nay, where have you been" he hugged her.
She smiled at him, "Why are you awake?"
"Where is daddy?"
When she heard the word"daddy" her whole body went numb. She has decided not to tell them immediately but now he is asking where his father is.....
"Where is Carissa?" she pretended not to hear what he asked her.
"Nanay, where is daddy?" he was adamant. She tried not to cry but she eventually broke into tears. Leonel was surprised when he saw his mother crying.
"Nanay, what happened? Why are you crying?
"Your dad...."
"What happened to dad?" he was anxious
"Your dad is dead Leonel...your father is gone" she covered her mouth as she began to cry again
"What? Daddy is gone? He began to cry.
Three hours later.
The undertakers brought in Nicolas corpse in a white coffin. They places him on the table. Flowers were placed at each sides. Nicolas picture was placed at the left side. He had a bright smile on his face. His hair were brushed up. She could remember how happy he was when he took the picture.
The coffin was opened. Elvira and her kids went to the corpse. Elvira wore a black shirt and pant, same as Leonel and Carissa. Other people present were also dressed in black.
"Elvira, I just heard what happened, my condolences" one of her neighbor said, then she nodded, "Thank you"
"Elvira" she heard a familiar voice called her and she turned back.
"Ma" [TN: Ma means mother] she ran to her mother and hugged her tightly.
"Mama, Nicolas is dead....he is gone" she began to cry.
"Anak, don't cry. Your children....you need to be strong for them" she consoled. Ms belen wore a black dress.
Elvira turned and saw her children crying. Carissa did not understand why they were crying but she could see her father sleeping in a rectangular box or something so she began to cry too.
Nicolas was dress in his black wedding suit. He looks so handsome in it but it would have being better if he had worn it when he was still alive. Leonel turned and saw his grandma.
"Lola...." he ran to her and hugged her.[TN: Lola means grandmother]
She hugged him back, "My grandson"
Ever since they left pandan for manila, she has always been wanting to see her grandchildren but now that she is with them; she met them in a bad state. She felt so bad for them. They walked to where the coffin was placed.
She has known Nicolas for the past eight years when he became friend with Elvira. If she is not at work; he will come home to check on her. He has always been a good man. To her, she sees him as a perfect man for her daughter.
But, she never thought that Nicolas will die before her; it's just so painful.
After some minutes, Miguel came in with his family. They all wore black. They went to where the corpse was placed.
"Elvira, my condolences. I know, it is hard for you to accept that your husband is dead but God knows why he took him away" he consoled but she did not pay any attention to him not until Camia touched her shoulder, "Are you okay, Elvira?
How will she be okay when her husband just died?
"I know you are feeling bad because your husband just died but think about it, if you are always like this, it will affect your children. They won't get your love"
Elvira turned to look at her, tears down down her eyes. Her eyes were puffy and red.
Camia is right, her whole attention will be diverted from her children which will later affect her children emotionally, physically and mentally.
"Thank you"she said slowly.
"My condolences again" she patted Elvira's shoulder and left with Karen to sit down.
"Elvira, remember the other time at the hospital when you said that Nicolas told you something before he died, can you tell it to me?" Miguel asked
She turned and said, "I am still mad at you for failing to help my husband" she said coldly
"But this can help the search for the murderer of your husband"
"I don't need your help" she turned and left.
Next morning at holy cross Memorial Park.
Nicolas corpse was taken to the cemetery where he will be buried. This time, Nicolas family wore white dress. The priest was also present and he preached....
"Only the Lord gives and only the Lord takes away. We can't do anything if He wants to take us now" the preaching lasted for five minutes. After preaching, the corpse was rolled to the grave. People dropped flower into the grave. Then the priest said, "May the Lord Almighty bless the soul of Nicolas Bautista" then he read the lords prayer and Nicolas was buried in peace.
But can his soul be at peace?

Miguel quietly talked to Dino.....
"I think Elvira is keeping something from us"
"What is it?"
"Remember the time she told us that her husband told her something before he died"
