On a desert island, used by the hunters' association for its exams, a man was trying to survive. It was Hang Zang-Ching, a tall, obese man by profession a murderer.
The man after a few days of rest, and with his great resilience due to his type of hatsu, managed to survive his fight against Shakal.
Seeing his beheaded companion, He sweared in his mind that he would kill Shakal by any means possible. Controlled by his enormous rage, he called on the other members of his team to rescue him.
Inside a thick jungle, on a somewhat peculiar island. Shakal and Machi walked at high speed, using the tree branches to propel themselves through the air. The two decided to enter the jungle, since normally the most important buildings were in the center.
Like the day before, the two felt a presence following them, always at the same distance from them.
Machi told Shakal not to pay attention to the spy, and to continue on his way. They arrived just in front of huge stone statues. They quickly activated their auras for any unforeseen situation. The two statues were covered with moss and greenery, and by the figure were the statues of gladiators holding a shield and sword.
Shakal with his dagger cuts part of the moss from the bottom of the statue, where there would normally be a description or some type of text. But in this case, he found nothing.
Without further delay, they kept walking forward. A few minutes later, they found a portal-like structure, made of marble and engraved with a certainly strange language. Only the portal stood in this area, but it didn't seem to lead anywhere. It just looked like a huge door, but with nothing to close.
When they approached the portal, this reaction with their auras. The runes written on the marble began to emit a yellow light. Seeing the strange phenomenon, the two quickly jumped back.
After several minutes, a kind of curtain made of aura was created in the center of the portal. Shakal covered his hand with nen, and lightly touched the strange curtain. To his surprise, his hand pierced the strange nen to be directed elsewhere. Shakal felt the climate had changed, a tropical jungle-like climate felt totally different from the one in the new area.
Seeing that his hand was perfectly, Shakal decided to enter with his whole body. Seeing his decision, Machi quickly threw her nen needle at Shakal's clothing. Then she created another one for herself and hooked it on one of the huge trees. Then she also passed through the portal.
The two were transported into what appeared to be a cave. The two were amazed at the enormous amount of treasures inside. Jewelry made of valuable stones, gold weapons and armor, vases filled with other extremely valuable metals. The amount of riches was incredible. Of the two companions, only machi seemed to be more interested in riches while Shakal had more interest in the site itself.
The cave was still more extended, the room of riches was only a small room in the cave. Shakal started walking, and Machi followed closely behind. They both had Gyo activated.
After passing the first room, the second was even smaller. In it there seemed to be several limestone coffins. On top of the coffins, a small marble statue physically described the owner of the coffin. In total there were six coffins, the strange thing was that they all belonged to women.
They continued investigating a little, Shakal drawing in his notebook all the letters found in this room, perhaps in the future he will discover more about them. Machi waited for him, without saying a word.
Upon entering the third chamber, the two were amazed at the size of it. Due to its size, the room could easily hold more than a thousand people.
In the center of the huge room, there was a small marble temple. Beside it, various warrior statues protected the temple. Other than that the room was completely empty. Without any decoration or anything like that.
Shakal and Machi approached the temple and carefully entered through the door. Inside they saw a huge marble coffin that occupied almost the entire temple. At the top of the coffin the runes were repeated, although these were different from the previous views.
"Do you think we should open it?" Shakal asked.
"It could be very dangerous, but it could contain something of great value. Perhaps we will regret it if we don't open it now. " - Machi said in a low voice.
Shakal used his aura to thoroughly scan the entire coffin, but felt nothing strange. So they decided to open but not before taking some precautions.
Machi used her ability to strain several neen threads, to use in case she had to defend herself. Shakal instead, quickly fortified his aura by creating a kind of red armor around his body.
The two of them stood on one side of the coffin, and began to lift the top. With their nen activated, they managed to accomplish their mission. But to the surprise of the two of them, when the top was peeled off, a huge aura coming from inside the coffin started to come out abruptly.
The two jumped back as fast as they could. Shakal created his two daggers to prepare for combat. Machi was holding her nen thread.
After a few moments, the aura still came out of the coffin, concentrating on a single point. The two of them stared without knowing how to act. The aura grew at terrifying speed until it reached a shape.
"It's a nen beast." - Shakal said in alarm.
"It seems to be, don't move, we have to find out it intentions first." - Machi answered reassuringly when she heard his partner's tone.
