Chapter 8 (I’m a what..)

"Because you're special, Rose!" Ascelin said. Special? Special has a lot of meaning to it so where do I fall in it and why? What make me so special that I have to have vampires forcing themselves into my life to protect me.

"Special? What you mean?" I said looking into his eyes, he slowly walked over to me and placed his hand on my cheek.

(Vision)

"Mom!" I whispered when I realized that I was back at the house where my parents and I lived. I was outside on the patio looking into the house where my mother was in the kitchen. My mother and I look so much a like it's crazy, she was so beautiful. I watch my father walked into the kitchen with a big smile, he walked over to his wife and wrapped his arms around her waist.

"How is are little Rose?" My father said kissing my mother on her cheek and I smiled.

"Very hungry, she's draining me, to tell you the truth," My mother said turning to my father.

What she means by that?

"Are girl might be just as strong as us when she grows up," my father said kissing my mother lips, "go head baby, fill up." I watched my parents cautiously wondering why Ascelin is showing me this.

"Are you sure?" My mother whispered kissing my father neck and my father smiled.

"Of course, when have I ever stopped you, beside I need you and my daughter to be healthy, so go ahead darling," My father said holding on to my mother waist and that when my mother did something I wasn't expecting, she showed her fangs before sinking it into my father neck.

Oh my...

(End of vision)

"...gosh!" I whispered backing up from Ascelin as my eyes look up at him. He quickly pulled me towards him leaning down to whispered in my ear.

"Don't say anything, they don't know about you and right now it needs to be kept that way," he whispered so softly that I barely heard him. He run his fingers through my hair as I began to cry. Everything that I have been told has been a lot and the common denominator with all of it is that someone was lying to me...well my parents wasn't but my adopted parents have to have known, right? My parents were vampire, which would mean that I should be a vampire but I know for damn sure that I'm all the way human. What the fuck is going on? So more questions is just piling on and the only person that is possible to answer these are Ascelin.

"I don't want to talk anymore," I cried holding my head feeling like my head is about to explode, "this is all too much."

"Noelia?" Sydney sound worried behind me but I didn't want to talk to her right now. I wrapped my arms around Ascelin waist.

"I just want to be with you," I whispered and not even a second later Ascelin and I where inside a bedroom.

"I'm not leaving this place, am I?" I mumbled going to seat on the bed feeling nothingness, the people I thought I could trust isn't so trustworthy and all I had was them, "my family was suppose to came up tomorrow."

"Don't worry, I got that taken care of, they're not coming," he said and my eyes widen, "I didn't harmed them, I just made it impossible for them to travel up here that's all."

"Oh ok...do they know?"

"Don knows," he said and I slowly nod my head, "if you wondering why you're not a vampire, your mother that night did a spell on you to turn you mortal."

"How old are you?" I blurted our and Ascelin smiled.

"Rule number one, never ask a vampire their age?" He said and I blushed.

"Do you know how old I am?" Ascelin came over to sit next to me. His hand entwined with mine and I let him, I watched him lift up my hand towards his lips and softly kiss the back of my hand.

"Let's not mention people age right now..."

"Who's older, you or I?" I asked with a small smile.

"I'm not answering that," Ascelin chuckled.

"Was Sydney pretending to be my friend just to keep an eye me?"

"All I ask her to do was make sure you're safe and protect you, but if want to know anything else after that then you are going have to talk to her."

"Why don't they know about me?" asking the questions that I want to know right now because I wouldn't be able to sleep if I don't.

"The day they found out who you really are is the day that your life is in danger," Ascelin whispered running his hand through my hair.

"Is the people who killed my parents trying to kill me?"

"Not just them, but please don't worry about that because I will protect you no matter what," Ascelin said kissing my forehead and I smiled.

"Why are you protecting me? What am I to you, Ascelin?" I mumbled placing my hand on his cheek. I slowly rubbed my thumb against his cheek feeling how soft and cold his skin was. I look into his deep red eyes that looks like blood orbits that I just find so beautiful.

"Simply because you're mine," Ascelin said cuffing my cheek and kissed me...again. His lips just fit perfectly to mine and I just have a feeling that we done this plenty of times before.

"If you keep kissing me like that, then I might come addicted," I mumbled wrapping his lip.

"Once upon of time, you once were," he mumbled hugging me to his chest. I sighed not thinking about how hurt Ascelin must feel. If he's telling the truth that we really were lover once upon a time, I can't imagine how much I'm hurting him because I don't remember him.

"I'm sorry," I mumbled feeling my eye lids feeling heavy, "I'm tired."

"Then go to sleep," he whispered moving us on the bed as I snuggled deep into his chest before falling asleep.
