CHAPTER V: Conflicted

Keida and Auryn howled in pain as my ray of light hit them, I look them in confused while pointing my right palm on them. The violet aura on their body starting to disappear but they still moaning in pain. I couldn't tell if they were joking or not, but it was quite realistic. I could feel that my mana is draining due to the excessive used of my Ray of light, but I don't mind as long as I healed them it would be worth it.

''M-marvis! S-stop!'' Keida shouted at me. She started moving slowly towards to me for some reason Auryn stop screaming and that's a good thing.

''Don't worry Keida that pained will be gone---'' I hear a loud thud when I looked at it, I saw Auryn body laying unconsciously then a bubble formed on her mouth. I'm happy since I can't feel any pain on her body.

''Keida look—'' When I look at her she suddenly hit me with her fist on my face. ''W- Why—''

My body is burning when marvis hit me with his healing spell instead of healing me it burns me inside and outside of my body. I tried to stop him but he's telling us that we're in 'pain' when I heard a loud thud and see Auryn dead body, I knew that I will be dead sooner if I didn't stop him forcefully.

I walked slowly toward to him then used my right hand to jab him in the face. Marvis stumble on the floor and looked at me with his 'violet eye' he looked confused. I still feel the burning sensation on my body and I'm having a hard time to move. It feels like he burned my stamina.

''W-why are you fighting me? I'm helping you!'' He tried to get up, but I tried my best to dash on him then kick him on the face. It was a successful hit on the face making him fall on the ground again.

''Ughh..'' He groaned in pained then it stopped. He was unconscious gladly he's just an E-rank if he was a C or D a kick on the face will not be enough to make him unconscious. My leg start trembling I pulled the chair and sat on it.

''Shit..'' I cursed. I looked around on my house it was dirty since I never cleaned it there was no reason to clean and used this place. I lost my reason to use it and now weird things happen Marvis healing spell suddenly harmed me. I look at his unconscious body he never meant to harm us, and I think It was not him. It was a different person of him. I looked on the other side where Auryn body located it was pale as white and a yellow bubble formed on her mouth. I want to walk towards to her, but my feet won't move.

''P-please…m-move…'' I beg to myself and tried to move every part of my body, but if failed. Damn, my vision starting to blur I'm also losing consciousness if this happen, I can't save Auryn and Marvis might escaped because of fear…

''A-arghh!'' I tried my best to stood up but I can't…

Someone… please save us---

I feel a warm light hitting my face as I opened my eyes I saw myself lying on the ground.

''What…'' I use my hand to cover the light coming out from the window and tried my best to sit.

''Finally, your awake.'' I immediately look at my right and I saw Abe, his grayish eyes looking at me like 'tell me what happen in here'. I saw Marvis besides him still unconscious then I remember what happened last night then I panicky looked around and I saw a large cocoon that made of leaves.

''I used my cocoon on her. Unfortunately, she still dead.'' He said.

Damn, I'm not strong enough to save her!

I slammed the floor with my right hand, and I could feel the tears building up in my eyes. I heard Abe start walking towards to me. He kneeled and looked at me I saw his expression I couldn't tell if he was mad or sad. Maybe both?

''What happened?'' he asked again. At first, I'm having a hard too speak for some reason I can't then, I suddenly told to him what happened last night. I started sobbing while telling what happened last night Abe just hold my hand to support me.

He looked at Marvis who still unconscious at this point.

''A healing spell but it harmed you?'' He sounds confused but I just nodded as an answer.

''Ironically, Auryn died because of healing spell… That's unbelievable.'' He said.

''I'm telling you the truth..''

''I know.'' He said then looked at me in the eye. ''I believe in you, I also checked Auryn bodies there is no bruises or injuries.''

I tried to stand up but Abe stopped me. ''Don't force yourself. Just rest for a moment for some reason you're exhausted.''

''How did you even get in here?'' I asked.

''I was walking back but I heard someone talking that they keep hearing a weird scream on a certain house. Then I asked then they pointed on the direction toward to your house'' He answered carefully. I removed my hand on Abe he scratched his head.

''We need to do something. I heard that the Soldier of Peace is coming on this house to investigate.'' He whimpered.

''We could just tell them what happen…'' I suggested to him. He just look at me and let out a small laugh. It felt like a it was a sarcastic laugh.

''We can't since first it will be unbelievable killing someone with a healing spell. '' He looked at Marvis again then he whispered something on himself. ''Second, Auryn is a Noble on this town they going to accused us with murder.'' He continued.

I let out a deep sigh then stand up. I looked at the cocoon where Auryn body ''What is the plan, Abe?'' I looked at him. He stood up and walk towards to Marvis and he carried him.

''We need to leave on this place as fast as possible.'' He said. ''Then interrogate this guy'' as he said that he glared at Marvis. The cocoon suddenly disappeared then I saw Auryn body laying on the ground peacefully.

I clenched my fist.

''Then leave Auryn in here? How about we leave Marvis in here and let them interrogate him.''

I'm confused, I want to be mad, but I don't know if I'm going to bad to myself or to Marvis. Marvis killed Auryn but I don't know if he intentionally did it or not… and it feel like it's a wrong move when we leave Auryn body in here.

''If you want too, do you want that?'' He asked me. ''If we let the Soldier Of Peace interrogate him which is not going to happened since the monarchy on this country is quite troublesome.'' He was serious when he said those words.

Town of Storm is one of the oldest towns in the Kingdom of Poseidus. He called it troublesome since the King of the kingdom does not care about the Town of Storm this was the town where the people getting punished by the wrath of gods. Most people who lived here either poor or a criminal. This is a beautiful town a peaceful one but when the noble people from the capital rule this place everything changed.

I bit my lower lip.

''I know why you want to stay in here…'' I heard Abe said I just looked at him.

''Please, let's don't talk about that…'' I looked at Auryn then bow my head.

''Rest in peace, Auryn.'' Sorry for not saving you, I'm not strong enough i still can't protect someone. I looked up and close my eyes and let out a deep breathe.

Then I rushed towards to Abe.

''What's your plan?''
