While Dave wondering if he got the wrong number from his assistant, Elena walked into her home and saw her father in front of the television.
He calmly watched some news. Sometimes she curious about how her mother could meet this beauty.
"Daddy, I'm home!"
Hearing his little princess voice, Lucas turned his head and gave her a warm smile.
He opened his arms and as always, Elena jumped right into his embrace. This little girl was the only treasure he has, so even if Elena asked him to give her a moon. He'd be gladly giving her what she asks.
"Welcome home. How's your day? Did anyone bother you?"
Elena shook her head and replied whit a cheeky tone, "No, they're all fine. What about you? Did you enjoy your retirement?"
"Good enough. I should be retired from long ago, so I could see you all the time."
Elena chuckled and said, "No way! My future husband would be jealous if he hears this."
"You think you could marry so easily, little girl?" Axel joined in their conversation and flicked her head.
"Humph. Why would it be that hard? My family is rich and I am beautiful enough. So, I bet anyone would want to be my husband."
Axel sighed, looking at his innocent and pure little sister. He muttered, "Wish you could never grow up."
"What did you say?"
Axel shrugged his shoulder and stood up, leaving Elena with her father. "What is wrong with him?"
"Don't mind him."
"Alright, I'll listen to you the most, dad."
Elena suddenly remembered that Dave just texted her before. Not only she didn't reply, but she also forgot about him.
Elena asked her father to change her clothes and with a nod, she fled away to her room. When she took a look at his phone, there were already three more messages.
"Is this Elena Heath?"
"Are you busy?"
"Text me when you're free."
Elena sighed, "I'm doomed!"
She was literally confused about how she replied to these messages. She typed on her phone and replied, "Hey, I just arrived at home. I'm sorry for the late reply."
She read it once again and after found it okay, she sent it. She put her phone on her makeup table and change her clothes. After a couple of minutes, she laid on her bed with her phone on her hands.
She checked her phone and she found another message, "Good. Rest early today. Don't work your self too much."
"Just that? I thought you want to woo me more." Elena sighed as she disappointedly read the text from Dave. But, what she didn't know that Dave was also disappointed with this short talk. Wish he could text her more, but Dave knew, the patient always the key. Too bad, that this already matured guy made a wrong decision. Elena already likes him too much that even he asked her to date now, she would excitedly agree.
Elena put her phone away and in deep thought. She was remembering the thing that happened before. Iris, huh? Was she telling her the truth... or it was just all a lie?
Should she asked him? But, for what reason? Elena was sure that Dave would not answer her question. Because... who was she to him? She was neither his friend nor his girlfriend. She was just an acquaintance.
Elena shook her head. This thought was useless. She couldn't get anything from this. So, she decided to play by ear now. She should watch the situation first before doing anything.
Just then, Axel's voice heard, "Hey, little girl! Come down and eat."
"Alright~"
While Elena and her family enjoyed their dinner, Dave locked himself in his office, reading documents with blank eyes. Everyone just knew that he was still a brat that knew nothing. But, to become the next heir of Helsi Corporation, Dave already in his training from he was seven. Dave himself was not an average guy you'd find on the streets. But, he was a genius.
When he was three years old, he excelled in math and could solve something too difficult for a child, for example, Sudoku. It might look nothing, but remember, this sudoku book was solved by a three-year-old child. He had 150 IQ and his EQ also equal to his IQ.
In short, he was a real genius. So, after his harsh training, he joined the company to familiarize himself. In fact, without attending school, he was already prepared to be the new CEO. Nick, his father, also wanted to retire as soon as possible. His head was already filled with his honeymoon plan after he retired.
But, of course, this wish of him had already been crushed by his mother. His mother was a famous painter. She also gave several lectures at university and seminars. She was already been noticed as a legend in the art industry yet her mother was just an ordinary woman. She only had one child and that was Dave, so she didn't want her only son to skip school. In her opinion, a child could be matured enough if they went to school. Because, in school, they could learn how to differentiate a friend and foe, learned to be a wise person or a bad person, and learned anything you want that you couldn't find in books. In fact, half of the board member also would not let a brat to be their CEO. In case something happened, then their income would also be gone because some brat sat on the CEO"s chair.
But, actually, whatever his mom's opinion, Dave thought of school as an annoying activity.
But suddenly, he bumped into an angel in time and place whom he never knew he would. He thought she was just another meaningless person in his dull world. But, God knew how to make fate worked so perfectly. He knew that girl would be an important person to him. He knew that he would do anything to make her happy.
All of sudden, school became an important place in his heart and mind. From that moment, he felt grateful to his mother.
A knock was heard after a couple of silence in Dave's office. Dave replied, "Come in."
Blade was his trusted assistant and he was very capable. So, he arrived absolutely pleased him. Blade came into his Young Master's room and saw him in front of his laptop with several papers beside him. He then walked closer to Dave and gave him a report.
"Young Master, this is the report about Clara Queen."
Dave took the report and diligently read words after words.
