Prologue

I would never know if it was being born female or if it was because I could remember my past life, but in this new one of a once upon fictional world Sirius Black was never convicted of a crime he never committed, he would be the one to raise me instead of the Dursley's. My first few years of this new life was spent relearning things that had once come to me naturally and without thought, learning to walk and talk isn't as easy as I thought it would have been, let me just say that.

Sirius and Remus equally had a large impact on my childhood as I was raised away from Magical England since both men had lost their trust in Dumbledore as he made a nuisance of himself by trying to take custody of me away from Sirius. Which I thought we were all the better for, never did trust the old coot.

"Dorea Rose Potter-Black! If you do not get down here this instant I will have you grounded from both your broom and your potion room!" Remus called up using a sonorous to make his voice echo through the Black Family Manor.

"I'M HEADING DOWN NOW!!" I shouted back with a yelp as I rushed through getting dressed and raced down the hall and slid down the banister to the bottom floor.

"Made it with seconds to spare Bambi." Sirius teased causing me to stick my tongue out at him making him laugh aloud.

Knowing Dumbledore could have used the fact that Remus was a Werewolf against him, Sirius had worked to teach me to become an Animagus in order for it to be safe for me, my form was still just a fawn.

"Sorry Moony, I overslept." I offered abashedly once I caught the look he was giving me making him sigh before huffing a laugh.

"Its fine Bambi, just make sure to keep an eye on the time when you're in your Lab." Remus scolded gently before waving his hand and letting our House Elf place our breakfast in front of us.

"You still sure about attending Hogwarts?" Sirius asked having spent the last two years trying to convince me to attend any other Magical School since he had filed a restraining order against Dumbles.

"It's where mum and dad went along with you and Moony, also Flitwick and McGonagall will be there to make sure Dumbledore and Snape don't pull anything." I added making him sigh in defeat even as an owl flew in and landed in front of me.

"Looks like we will be making a trip to Diagon." Remus inputted making Sirius pout before muttering about writing to Dowager Longbottom to see if Neville and her would like to join us.

It had been slightly harder for me to make friends growing up in this life since Sirius had kept us in semi hiding, Neville was one of the rare few I was allowed to befriend.

TIME SKIP ~ HOGWARTS EXPRESS!

The trip through Diagon had been fun and kept simple as Nev and I went through each store getting everything from our school list along with extra things for what held our interest, Neville got extra planting seeds and anything else he might need for his personal garden while I got extra ingredients for my potion lab inside my school trunk.

"You better remember to write to us Bambi." Sirius warned lightly as he pulled me into his side in a tight hug making me laugh lightly as I returned it.

"And remember no matter what House you get into we will be proud of you." Remus added after shoving Sirius to the side so he could hug me next.

"I love you both and will write to you guys either late tonight or tomorrow!" I shout as I grabbed Neville's hand and began to race for the Express knowing we would need some time to find a compartment before it got too full.

"What House do you even wish to get?" Neville asked calmly having become confidant in himself through the years of our friendship.

It had helped that Remus and Sirius had a talk with his grandmother, that had set her straight concerning how to raise him. I was happy to know he was able to be himself, even having his own wand instead of his fathers.

"Hufflepuff or Gryffindor." I answered with a slight shrug since they both described me pretty well more so than Ravenclaw and Slytherin anyway.

I twirled my wand between my fingers once we settled into an empty compartment and Merlin was I happy that I hadn't ended up with Harry's original wand, then again I wasn't like him in any way.

"Those are good Houses and likely one of which I will end up in myself." Neville agreed with a nod of his head as he set Trevor, his toad, down beside him in the tank Remus had spelled for him so the toad couldn't escape.

"Do you two mind if I sit in here?" An older voice called from the doorway causing us to turn toward it and for my eyes to widen in slight surprise at who stood there.

"Sure! I'm Dorea and this is my good friend and god-brother Neville!" I answered causing the older and already sorted student to chuckle as he entered the compartment.

"Nice to meet you both, I'm Cedric Diggory." Cedric answered and yep I had been right in my guess on who he had been.

"So how is the House of Hufflepuff?" I asked curiously since it could possibly be the House I would go to.

"It's a second home away from home for those sorted there, the Head of House Sprout makes sure that all First Years are given an older student to lean on in case they need help or need someone to talk to." Cedric explained easily as he settled beside me with Neville sitting across from us.

"Sounds like a House to aim for then." I offered before we changed the subject to classes and each subject we preferred making the time fly by.

Cedric had been one of the reasons I had been happy to reborn here, his death had been pointless, and his life cut short before he had a chance to live it. I wanted to save him and now I could.

"Good Luck!" Cedric offered once we piled off the train and with a last wave we split ways as we headed for Hagrid and the boats.
