It’s not my home

3: It's not my home

So itchy.

I moved the mouse of the computer, moving the cursor on the screen monitor and click the text panel. Using my short fingers I typed on the keyboard slower than I used to type.

Scratching my cheek, I glanced at the time that indicates it was already one in the morning. I had been in front of the computer for five hours and still zero progress in my research, not even a clue on how to return back to my original world.

My forehead hit the computer table. I released a depressing sound but it sounded like a whale in a mating season.

"I'm sorry I couldn't be with you, Vinny." He must be worried sick. Thankfully he was at our aunt's house when I unknowingly got here. My little brother won't feel alone since Maddie was with him.

I was really sure I didn't die.

An alternate dimension of Earth. It was so similar to my world and yet so different. Monarchy governed their kingdoms. Technology advances in this world just like mine.

"Eirlys?"

I moved my head away from the desk and looked towards the door. It was Rowan Elliot Cromwell, the eldest son of Caleb and Eleanor Cromwell, the heir of the Court of Heart. He was five years older than me.

"I saw light coming out under your door. So I thought I should check on you. Why are you still awake in the middle of the night making weird noises?" He asked then squinted his eyes at me.

"I was searching for something and didn't notice the time." I stood up and scratched my face then my arms. My left hand moved to my neck.

Rowan walked towards me and held my hands stopping me to scratch. I tried to pull away but this boy was strong. His blue eyes looked at me with alarm. "Your face is covered with rashes." He then looks at my arms. There were parts of my arms were red and swollen.

"I'm still allergic to clams huh," I  muttered.

"What?!" He shouted. "Why didn't you say earlier that your allergic to seafood? Then I wouldn't have to make you eat seafood as a punishment."

Since he had no intention of letting me go, I bend my body and moved my head to my hands and scratched my face.

"Stop scratching your skin!"

"It's so itchy," I said. "Also it's only the calms that I'm allergic to."

The dinner was heaven. Crabs, shrimp, squid, and clams.

Thinking about the food made my stomach growl, but not in a good way.

Oh no. . .

Rowan stared at my stomach. We heard another growl and then a duck sound came out from my ass.

KWEK

"I need to use the bathroom," I blurted as my face turns to red from embarrassment.

Why did my fart have to sound like a duck?!

He immediately released my hands and said, "I'll call the doctor." He forced his face to be calm but his lips twitched upward. He then placed his hands over his face covering his mouth and nose.

Was he laughing or was my fart smells? . . . Maybe both.

We both ran to our respective door.

A week had passed and my allergies were gone. I inhaled the hot salty air as I watch the sun sets on the curve horizon. I lean closer to the railings of the boat. The sea turned into a beautiful shade of red and orange while the sky was slowly painted in deep violet.

The sound of soft splashes of the calm water against the boat made me think of Vinny and Maddie. I would more appreciate the beauty of nature if the children were with me. I stared at the sky where the darker part was, few stars have appeared twinkling above me. Vinny would love this.

I missed their voices, their laughter, and when they call my name.

A deep sigh came out of my lips.

"What's with that sigh, Eirlys. Is there something bothering you?" Rowan asked beside me.

"I miss Vinny," I unconsciously answered.

"Who's Vinny?" His gem blue eyes looked at me suspiciously.

Who is Vinny, you ask?

Well, he's my younger brother who I raised ever since he was just a baby.

Of course, I couldn't say that. My eyes swam in panic, thinking for an excuse.

"My. . .pet dog?"

"You don't have a dog, Eirlys."

"Of course I do!"

What the hell Eirlys? What kind of bullshit excuse was that? The other Eirlys and her brother we're living in the same roof and you came up with a pet dog. Come on brain of mine, I know you're better than this!

"Well, Vinny is not my real dog, I just call him that. He's actually someone else pet and I happened to find him alone outside the house. We played a few times." The lie came sliding out of my mouth smooth as my baby butt cheek.

With perfect timing, Garrett called me, "Eirlys!" Not wasting my time I escaped from the question that Rowan was about to say and went to the second son of this family, Garrett Zayn Cromwell.

This past few days I had been closer to the two boys. It all started at the dinner before I had an allergic reaction. Rowan had told the chef not cook me anything I request and I found out that the other Eirlys didn't like seafood. As a punishment from the action that the other Eirlys caused, I had to eat the food on the table which was fine by me. Rowan, Garrett and the servants were shocked when I start opening the crab that was cooked with coconut milk. Actually, there were already prepared crab meat but it's no fun. I hammered and crushed the shell like a pro. Noticing that their plates were empty, the older sister in me awakens and I started to peel the shrimp shells with my bare hands and gave it to them.

When I stayed in bed for a week because of the clam, that I thought I was no longer allergic to it since I was in another body, Rowan and Garrett stayed in my room and play. I crushed them without mercy on board games and as well in racing on Xbox.

"Look!" I stood beside Garrett who was pointing at the land where the lights from the buildings were visible. He looked at me with a wide grin on his face. "We're home."

It's not my home.
