Grey Fields

Should he have done more before leaving? Maybe wrap his hands around him for a while before letting him go? Or even spend the night in his arms refusing to let go. All the things he could have taken but didn't. With the war any day or even hour, every moment spent with him would have been precious but… he was happy with what he did. Maybe he missed his hug, forgot to lay in his arms, but he still got what he had embarrassedly been waiting for... well...not yet, he needed to confirm it when he got back.

"Hehe," Dominic giggled to himself with his finger on his lip as he recalled the moment of bravery he had performed a week ago.

"Your majesty," Litian called out, knocking on the thick fabric of Dominic's large tent, "he has arrived.

Dominic looked up immediately, forcing down his blush to prevent overheating in the harsh climate, "prepare the troops," Dominic commanded, getting up and grabbing his sword, "meet him and be prepared to attack at the slightest threatening movement."

"Yes, your majesty!" Litian announced saluting her king.

Dominic walked to Litian and stood before her, "today, we will win," he commanded, "never forget where we came from, what we rose from, what we lost to get here. Your sword is a tool we created to assist us in victory. The purpose of it is useless if it's wielder isn't brave enough to dash into wars, to abandon every fear they have, every burden that holds them back and channel it into their hands at the hilt of the sword to perfect every swing with strength. This is what we were trained for, this is what we have yearned, and it is what we will conquer. Nothing we have done is undeserving of victory so raise your sword and fight with your life."

Litian looked up at Dominic, her eyes glowing with pride, "your motivational speeches have reached a whole new level, your honor."

"Except for my will and my authority and effort, it's the only thing left for me to do," Dominic smiled, patting the helmet on her head, "all I hope is that after you are done criticizing my words you will need them and fall through."

"It would be a pleasure," Litian grinned as she turned to leave, "don't worry your highness, I won't stop until every drop of energy in me is vanquished and I am on the verge of death until we get victory, I will never stop assisting you."
