"I have a question," as Xia Xi slowly raised her hand.
Everyone turned and looked at her. "Well, uhmm…." Before she could finish her sentence, Chairwoman Xia stopped her. "Okay, the meeting ends here if there's no other question." Everyone starts to leave and Xia Xi looks at her confusingly. "I haven't even asked my question yet," as she thought to herself. "Mr. Lei can you stay for a moment?" She stopped him from leaving and Xia Xi sat there wondering what she's trying to do.
Chairwoman Xia turned and looked at the confusing Xia Xi. "Me and you could talk later. Can you step out for a moment?" Xia Xi grabbed her stuff and started walking out the door. As she walked out, she looked at Lei and who was also looking at her. "What's wrong with this guy? Have I seen him before my memory is lost?" as she wandered to herself and walked out the door.
"You must be wondering why I may call you here today," as Chairwoman Xia looked at Lei Kai Xuan. He looked at her camly, "No, I think I know why you call me in today. "Oh, you do? Then why won't you tell me then." Chairwoman looked at him like she's satisfy with this man's behaviour. "After last year De Lin lost to The Lei's, there have been many financial problems. And this collaboration will not only fix that, but will help save your reputation. Am I correct?" as Lei Kai Xuan sat down looking at her proudly. Chairwoman Xia smiled at him, "I can't deny that you're a smart person in this industry. Since now you know my plan, what do you think?"
Lei Kai Xuan thought about it for a sec, "This collaboration will not only help you guys, but could also help us. So, I don't have any rejection. But I want to ask, why do you want Xia Xi to work with this collaboration? I don't think me and her could work this out together."
"I don't believe that you guys can't work together. There's nothing that you guys can't solve." She gave him a stern look like she won't change her mind.
"I know that you and Xia Xi have a past relationship together and because of some misunderstanding you guys broke up."
"How do you know?"
She looked at him smiling, "There's nothing that I don't know. She's my granddaughter. Even though she just recognized me two years ago, I've already known her since the day she was baby. But after I forced her mother to divorce with my son, I haven't seen her since.."
"Why are you telling me this?" as Lei looked at her confusingly.
"I know that there must be some misunderstanding that happened between you guys that caused the breakup. But I want you to know that when you love someone, it's very hard to just not love them anymore. I just want to tell you that, you might think you guys can't work together anymore, but you won't know until you try. Plus, she doesn't remember anything anymore." She sighs and looks at Lei Kai Xuan.
"What do you mean? She doesn't remember what?" as Lei looks at her confusingly.
"Do you know why you guys could win last year's fashion show?" Lei shakes his head. "During her second day at Paris, she got shot while saving a kid. She got injured in her head which had caused her shortage of memory loss. She can't remember anything that happened in the last ten years. Her mind stopped at age 23. I'm not telling you this so you can feel bad, but because I want you to help her. Help her gain back the memory that she lost. As you can see today, she's the vice president of De Lin. Many people have been wanting to take her down and now of her memory loss, they'll take advantage of this. So, I trust you that you can keep this a secret." She looked at him sternly.
Lei Kai Xuan sat there as his memory flashes back. * "Hey! Watch what you're saying!!"... I'm gonna get back to you….." *
"That's why she's been acting so differently. Did she really lose her memory?" as he wondered to himself.
"Well, I trust that you can keep this secret. So, I hope that you can help her out. I'm gonna get going now. Talk to you later, Mr. Lei." Chairwoman Xia walked out and left Lei Kai Xuan sitting inside the meeting room. <
On the other hand, Xia Xi was sitting in her office waiting for her grandmother to come. "Is she really my grandmother?" as she kept walking back and forth. Suddenly the door opened and looked at the old lady approaching her. "Uhh, chairwoman Xia?" as she stutters. She gave a hand signal to her people to step out. After they left the room, chairwoman Xia took Xia Xi's hand and guided her to sit down on the sofa.
"I know that you might have so many questions to ask me. Then ask me," she kept holding Xia Xi's hand and looked at her passionately.
"Are you really my grandmother?" as Xia Xi looked at her nervously. Her grandmother laughed, "of course. Why would I lie to you."
"Then my next question is how come I never have any memory of you during my childhood?" Chairwoman Xia was stunned by that question and didn't know how to answer her. "That answer is pretty long. Can we find another day and talk about that?" Xia Xi nodded, "okay fine. My last question then, how come I have to work with that jerk Lei Kai Xuan!"
"Xia Xi watch your language. His company is gonna help us. I want you to behave and work together with him to complete this task." Xia Xi observed her and knew she couldn't fight back. "Fine," as Xia Xi said it unwillingly.
