Today is my birthday, I finally turned 20. Wonder what color I'll have today. I went and took a shower and I got dressed.. I walked over to my vanity and looked... nothing... what the.. no new color but why?. I always had the other colors when I had woke up. Why would today be different. My hair had grown so long that it reached my knees ( keep in mind I'm "5'6".) I've never cut my hair, only trimmed the ends. I normally wear it down unless I'm training with the pack. So I decided to braid it for today. When I was done all the colors could be seen, though simple it was beautiful. I then went downstairs toward the front door I was going to have breakfast with my best friend Emily.(she said she had a surprise for me and wanted to give it to me at breakfast. I said sure.
I was at the door see when I was stopped by my mother.
"Alice"
"Yes, mom"
Come to the kitchen and have breakfast with your father and me.
I told Emily I would have breakfast with her at the pack house. I replied.
she came over here about 10 minutes ago.
"OH."
So I went to our kitchen. stove on the right, fridge on the left, and an island in the middle. By the back sliding door was the breakfast nook, the way it was made to look like a pinic table with the seats having backs. Once I walked in everyone shouted
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALICE ! !."
"Aww really for me." I cried and then laughed
It made everyone laugh.
Thank you everyone and I gave everyone a hug.
I gave my the grandpa the longest hug.
He asked about my hair.
Nothing new yet grandpa. I said
Emily your sneaky, but the best. I hugged her
"Thank You." I whispered
"Your Welcome." she whispered back
We had just sat down to eat bacon, sausage, eggs, and star shaped pancakes, with orange juice, when there was a knock on the door, my father answered it.
"Yes, thank you." he replied and shut the front door. "
Honey the other Alpha's have arrived."
" Guess its time to go. " replied my mother
" Alice let's go. " said my mother
" Go where ?. " I asked confused.
" To your first official council meeting. " my mother replied
I dropped my folk in shock.
which also made Emily and my grandfather quit eating.
"What do u mean?." I asked
Your 20 now, it's time for you to learn how to be an alpha, when it comes to meeting and paper work and other things. my mother said
" Why wait until now. what is really going on? ." I asked
" Just an Alpha meeting, that's all. " said my mother
" Will all the council members be there as well?. " I asked
Well...Well...No, just the werewolf members. my mother said
" Why just them?" I asked
my mother remained quiet
OH!, I get it now -- you only want them here to see if one is my mate. what you failed to think of is what if I have more than one mate. I said
" That's never happened before?. " My mother said
Just because it hasn't happened yet, does not mean it won't. I feel this meeting will be a waste of everyone's time. I will not be there. I said
I have things I need to do today. Thank you for breakfast. Love you all.
Emily let's go.
I left leaving my parents stunned.
(Grandpa pov)
My granddaughter has always done what was asked of her expect for today, she caught on to her parents scheme and shot it down. I smiled she showed them and I was proud she stood up for herself to them. Once she was gone and out of earshot I spoke up.
" She has a point. " I said
" What is that dad. " my daughter said getting snarky.
Don't you go getting snarky with me because she figured out what you two had been scheming. I said
( Years ago I found an old scroll. The scroll was about a child with Rainbow colored hair having more than one mate. It never said how many, just more than one. I did not believe it was true until Alice was born. I never said this out loud )
I guess you better be making a lot more phone calls daughter. I'll get the pack to decorate the clearing and the backyard. I'll also get food preparations going as well. Your in for the world's largest species gathering in history... of ever.
" Good Luck my Daughter. "
I said as I patted her shoulder and walked out.
This is going to be epic.
I just hope not an epic disaster for Alice's sake.
