Chapter 7 What's that smell (part 2)

As soon as my parents saw me their eyes teared up but also had a shine of proud in them.

" Your Beautiful Alice. " said my father hugging me.

" Thank you Dad. "

My mother had tears falling from her eyes and smiled.

MOM ? I asked as I walked over to her and hugged her until she could speak.

when she finally spoke all she said was....

" WOW ! !. "

Which made everyone laugh.

It's almost time. said my grandfather with a smile.

I'll stay with Alice, everyone can go ahead . said my mother

See you outside and again " You look Beautiful Baby." said my Father

After everyone had left my mother spoke:,

Alice you know the tradition is that on this day the pack would become your responsibility.

"I do not feel you are ready. Your Father and Grandfather both believe you are."

I was in shock. ( why would she think I was ready. I've always trained and sparred with the pack. I patrol our borders like the other pack members do. I help to defend our territory with the pack. I got straight A's in school ( no college). I even cook meals for the pack, and Emily sometimes helps. How could she think I wasn't ready)... but I'll please her and wait.

If you believe I'm not ready, then how long would it take to prove I am ready, 3 years or maybe it will take 5 years. I know grandfather didn't become alpha until he was 24. I know I'm your only child, I also know that grandfather has made sure I did everything that would make me ready to be a great alpha, father even helped so that I was ready for anything. and you, all you want to do is make me wait. I'll do what you want, I'll wait , I'll wait until I find my mate and if their an alpha of their pack, I'll go live with them since it seems my alpha parents don't think I'm ready to run our pack. I said and walked to the back door not wanting to be in the same room with my mother.

I always did what they wanted and I never broke any rules. Then on my 20st Birthday she tells me she feels I'm not ready. uurrgghha.

Once I was at the back door my father poked his head in the door and saw me standing there with a sad look on my face. so he stepped in

" What's wrong? ". he asked

" Mother just told me she is not going to make me the new alpha. I told her I would wait until I find my mate and then I'm going to go live with them since my alpha parents don't think I'm ready to run the pack. " I said

" Why did you say that ?. " asked my father

1- Out of shock.

2- I think my mates are here.

MATES ! !. was all I heard.
