Chapter 3: What A Day

Today is finally our birthday! HOORAY!!

I woke up extra early just to prepare Chika's cake. I really do hope he likes it.

Currently I am now putting the final touches to the cake, while Laire-nee is at my side carefully supporting me.

"Done!"

"Good job Sei-sama! It looks absolutely prefect! I'm sure that Chika will love it! If he doesn't then leave him to me"

"…..un"

The last statement scared me a bit but whether he likes it or not won't matter anymore as long as I see him happy.

In fact I feel very proud of myself to be able to do such thing. I guess this is what people call sense of accomplishment or sort.

The days of practice and watching online baking tips and tutorial really pays off.

I helped Laire-nee in cleaning up before I went back to my room and got dressed.

I look at the memo that I have on my small desk and check the agendas for today. After doing so, I went down to eat breakfast. Sou-nii and Ryo-nii are already eating while Chika just came out of his room. I take a seat and eat my breakfast, since it's our special day our breakfast is also specially made.

Well according to my memo, Sou-nii and Ryo-nii will take us out to play and then we'll come back in the afternoon after the adults prepare for the party.

After we ate breakfast, we wait for Chika to finish dressing before the four of us head out. It seems like Chika is still mad at me for not playing with him for the past few days. Seeing Chika like that made me feel a bit sad, thus bring my mood down for a bit.

[Let's try to have fun for today since everything that I did is for Chika, I know he'll understand soon enough]

I need to be positive, our friendship won't be stop with just this little set back.

The first place we went to is the soon to be Chika and I's new school, Raiki Nursery School. Since it is a few minutes away from our house, Sou-nii decided for it to be our first stop.

"Sooo BIG~" (Chika)

"Well it would seem like Chika liked it, what about you Sei? Do you like the school?" (Sou)

"Un!" (Sei)

"Sei-!" (Chika)

"..." (Sei)

"N-Nothing… am gowing to look awound" (Chika)

"Hey! Wait! Chika!" (Ryo)

"....." (Sei)

Chika then dash off to look around while Ryo-nii chase after him. Sou-nii didn't say anything just pats my head affectionately. Unknowingly, tears sprung out of my eyes I don't know what came over me but seeing Chika bluntly avoid me like that, really hurts.

[It somehow reminds me of my previous parents.

I don't like this, I don't like Chika to hate me]

Seeing my sorry state, Sou-nii hugs and consoles me until I calmed down. Not long after Sou-nii and Chika came back, I wasn't sure if they notice that I've cried or not but both of them didn't say anything instead we continue on our next destination.

While walking, my stomach made a growling sound and it seems like I somehow became hungry after I brawl my eyes out.

Sou-nii laugh out loud upon hearing it so we decided to make a stop in a nearby shop. The shop is called Bella Masa, it's a Bazilian pizza shop to be exact.

We ordered two small size pizzas and leisurely have our fill then we ordered a large one for later, in case we go hungry again. Well we are growing boys so don't judge.

Afterwards we hail a taxi to get to our next stop, on the way we saw many stores and the scenery is very different compared to the crowded city of France.

[It's very peaceful, I never notice this since I've been confined in the hospital most of my life but the place that I've once lived in is a very peaceful place.

I'm very fortunate to be given a chance to experience such place…]

A few minutes after the ride, we arrived at our destination.

"Hawano… Hawanoyagwawa Wate Pwark" (Chika)

"Water Park?" (Sei)

"Yup! It's a water park so let's play to our hearts content okay!" (Sou)

"Un, okay!" (Sei)

"Yay~!" (Chka)

"But be careful as well okay, you might get hurt" (Ryo)

"bleh~" (Chika)

"This brat…" (Ryo)

Chika then run off while Ryo-nii chase after him. As for Sou-nii and I, we leisurely explore the water park.

During our walk, I somehow got separated from Sou-nii so I went to an open space and wait for Sou-nii to fetch me. It's always best to just stay put rather than randomly walk around is what mom said so its best follow that.

I got bored while waiting for Sou-nii and without knowing when I started to hum the song SMILE, it was thought to me by Taku-sensei and I think it was sung by a person named Sora Kumuri. Soon I started singing, I wasn't aware that my voice was loud enough that by the time I was done with the song a roar of applause erupted behind me.

Some of them are about to approach when Sou-nii squeeze out of the crown and rush up to me. Behind him was Ryo-nii and Chika, they seems to have been running about by the way they took their breaths.

"Sei! ESt ce que ça va?! Es-tu blessé?! J'étais en train de te chercher! Ne sais-tu pas combien j'étais inquiet?

Mais Dieu merci, vous allez bien" (Sou)

(Sei! Are you okay?! Are you hurt?! I've been looking for you! Don't you know how worried I was! But thank goodness you're okay)

"Désolé, Sou-nii" (Sei)

(Sorry, Sou-nii)

"Tout va bien tant que vous êtes en sécurité ... Bien, nous avons entendu votre chant ou bien, j'aurais peut-être appelé la police" (Sou)

(It's okay as long as you're safe… Good thing that we heard your singing or else, I might have called the police)

"Sou-sama, Sei-sama ... Je pense que c'est mieux si nous quittons les gens se pressent et je sais que Sei-sama n'est pas bon avec les foules" (Ryo)

(Sou-sama, Sei-sama… I think it's best if we leave people are crowding over and I know Sei-sama is not good with crowds)

"Vous avez raison, allons-y" (Sou)

(You're right, let's go)

I didn't realize the crowd got bigger until Ryo-nii pointed it out but before any of them got close, Sou-nii carried me away. We quickly went to the exit and hail a taxi thus going to our next destination.

On the way, Sou-nii makes sure to give me an earful before we arrived. Even though what happened wasn't exactly my fault, I need to be understanding since that's how much they love me.

Anyway our next stop is Fukou Junior High. Sou-nii and Ryo-nii said that they also want to see their school before the school year starts.

We entered the school and walk around, there are some clubs that are doing summer training so we watched them for a while.

We were watching a soccer match when the ball flew towards us. It didn't hit us of course because Ryo-nii flawlessly received it and effortlessly returned it to the player. Ryo-nii somehow captures the coach's eyes and asked him if he would want to play. Ryo-nii tried to refuse but eventually gave in since Sou-nii also encourages him but he only agreed when Sou-nii joined.

As Sou-nii and Ryo-nii play on the field, Chika and I were left on the sidelines to watch. Other than the sounds on the field, silence envelope around the two of us. Then I remember that Chika is still mad at me making me depress and more quiet than usual.

[I wonder if Chika is still mad at me]

"Sei-chama…" (Chika)

"...…" (Sei)

"I'm sowee… Chika not mad anymowe" (Chika)

"....." (Sei)

I don't know what to say to Chika but tears began to stream down my face. Chika upon seeing it, his face was filled with guilt and thus began to cry out loud. Hearing Chika's cries, Sou-nii and Ryo-nii quickly abandoned the game and rush to our side.

Ryo-nii is comforting Chika while Sou-nii with me. I wasn't paying attention of what Sou-nii is saying instead I kept my eyes on Chika, contemplating whether to approach him or not. I soon able to gather enough courage and walk to Chika then gave him a hug.

"Sorry. Chika" (Sei)

"N-No Sei-chama, Chika sowee" (Chika)

"Chika, Like. Not Mad" (Sei)

"Rweelly Sei-chama ish not mad?" (Chika)

"Un, not mad…" (Sei)

Hearing that I'm not mad made Chika cry even more. We decided to leave and of back home but on the way we saw a shrine, the Akaoshibushide Shrine and not far from there is the Ishizuekuni Shrine. With so many things that happened today, we prayed and got our fortunes check.

I also buy charms for everyone.

After the visit Sou-nii and Ryo-nii decided that it's time to go home. Both of them carried us on their backs as we walk back home.

We reached home just before the sun goes down. The crying earlier wear Chika out, he is now currently sleeping on Ryo-nii's back.

"I wonder how the surprise will go now that Chika is asleep" (Ryo)

"It will work out somehow" (Sou)

Ryo-nii opened the door for us and as soon as we reach the living room, poppers exploded along with the cheers and congratulations. The commotion was too loud for Chika, thus it woke him up.

We were both brought down, each one of our parents gave us kisses along with greetings. The celebration continued and soon it reaches to where we blow the candles.

Mom and Laire-nee bring out two cakes, one is the cake that I've made and the other is something that is bought from the store.

Laire-nee called me over and gave me the cake then urges me to personally give it to Chika. I slowly walk towards Chika as I carefully present the cake to him.

"Happy Birthday Chika"

Chika doesn't seem to understand so Laire-nee told him.

"You know Chika, Sei-sama personally baked that cake for you… He practices for 2 weeks just to make that cake for you." (Eclaire)

"For Chika?" (Chika)

"Yup, a cake especially just for Chika" (Ryo)

Understanding the situation, Chika took the cake and utter a simple 'Thank You'. It may not look like he likes it but just hearing him say thank you made me feel relief somehow.

And now we continue with the blowing of the candles. Looking at the cake now side by side really shows how amateurish my work is making me embarrassed about it. But Laire-nee gave me a pat on the head and an encouraging smile.

[I guess it showed in my face, but thanks Laire-nee]

The candles are all set and are lit, and then they began to sing Happy Birthday. We blow the candles after the song, and for the next presentation Sou-nii and Ryo-nii already set up the drums and guitars. I went and took the guitar then test the tune.

Finishing the preparations, we took our positions and start the show.

Our mini birthday party ended, Laire-nee and Rin-ji took care of the clean-up. Ryo-nii took Chika to his room and Mom took me in mine since its pass our bed time.

"Did you have fun today, Sei-chan?" (Mom)

"Un! Very!" (Sei)

"That's good, Mom is also happy that you're happy.

Sei-chan and Sou-chan is Mom and Dad's precious treasure after all" (Mom)

"Mom, Love You" (Sei)

"Mom loves you too Sei-chan… chu~" (Mom)

After our short talk, Mom tucks me in then kisses me good night. Not long before Mom left, Dad also came and greeted me once again then kissing me good night before the two of them left the room.

So many things happened today, I guess I can say that this is my most emotional day so far since I've been living as Sei. Even so I can clearly see that this life will be different from before so I better treasure them the same way they treasure me.

But seriously…
