I pedaled along the path highlighted on the map which was displayed on my phone as fast as I could without slowing down for even a moment.
To other people I would appear to be some crazy bike riding maniac who paid zero attention to his surroundings, as I turned the corner without waiting for the traffic light to turn green.
I mindlessly trudged on with little care for my life as I saw the meteorite flying over ahead of me before crashing into a building far in the distance as it exploded, sending a shock wave which I felt even though I was still quite far away.
"It's a good thing this part of the city is uninhabited as the government was about to start working on a new world project of sorts" I thought as I rode on.
The closer I got to the meteorite the faster the temperature dropped, as I was stunned by such a phenomenon.
"Usually, if a meteorite is to crash into the earth it would be super-hot, not cold like this" I thought. "Looks like I've hit a jackpot it could be a completely different type of space stone, which must have been drifting in space for quite a while." I thought to myself excitedly.
I finally began to slow down as I was more or less than a block away from the crash site but did not find a single fire rather there was frosting all over the buildings.
I looked up as I slowly rode my bike to see a shining blue light in the distance it was coming from the site of the meteorites crash.
I stopped riding the bike as I parked it by the side as I continued walking since the path ahead was filled with rubble from the destroyed building.
I had to walk carefully along the way till I found myself in front of this huge mass of rock covered in blue crystal fragments which gave of light all on its own.
I immediately brought out my phone as I ignored the cold I felt to record what I was seeing. As I walked around the meteorite I found that the light it gave off was in a pattern, it was almost as rhythmic as a heartbeat.
It kept on pulsing as it released a subtle and relaxing light as I slowly found myself stretching out my hands to touch it.
"No… no, you can't do this Hyla" I said to myself.
"But it's a once in a life time discovery tell me you don't want to touch" said another voice in my head.
I ended up having an argument with myself and I could not help but want to touch the meteorite.
"I'll only touch it for one second" I said to myself.
I slowly stretched my hand towards the meteorite, placing my hand on it, I found that it was not cold which surprised me rather it felt like every other rock but when I tried removing my hand I found that I couldn't. Panicked, I tried to pull my hand away by force but it seemed as if my hand was joint to the rock as it didn't even budge.
"What the hell is up with this rock" I screamed as I tried to separate my hand from the stone.
"It's not working" I thought.
Now I was starting to get scared, to make matters worse the rock slowly started to become colder as it went from a normal rock to me touching an ice cube as it became colder than that, I began to feel my whole arm go numb but the pain I felt was very clear although it only lasted for a split second I felt like I was going to pass out.
My arm started to freeze and no matter how hard I tried, it refused to leave the rock, I stood there frightened as I wondered if this was how I was going to die, frozen to a rock.
For the first time in a long time I felt helpless, I stood there as the cold slowly reached my nervous system as I found myself about to fall asleep.
"No!!! I can't die this way" I thought "What about everybody, how would they feel, what about my mom how would she feel" my thoughts raced.
I struggled to fight back the cold. After a while I felt the cold slowly withdrawing as the ice on my arm began to break.
Seizing the chance, I pulled my hand away from the rock as I was finally able to break free, I turned around as I picked my phone which had fallen on the floor up before I ran out to where my bike was just as soon as a helicopter with its search light just flew above me.
I grabbed my bike as I reached where I had left it as I began to pedal my way out without sparing a glance behind me.
All I could think of was what was I going to do if I was caught by Federal Agents, since I didn't even know how I was going to explain what I was doing here.
The helicopter flew over, time and time again as it sent a wave of fear over me, I didn't even know when I reached the rental shop as I returned the bike before hailing a cab.
Since it was a Saturday the security guard at the reception desk was lenient towards the guys as he let us in at whatever time we came back.
I hurriedly went to the room as I climbed into bed while Grey and Enri were still asleep.
I was finally able to sleep after forcing out the thoughts of everything that just happened.
…
"Hey, wake up" said Grey as he shoved me.
"one more hour" I said groggily.
"Wake up, go take a shower" said Grey as he poked my sides. "We are going to be late for mass" he said as he dragged me out of bed.
"Fine" I said as I stood up making my way to the bathroom.
I walked into the bathroom, finished brushing my teeth, before I washed my face with water. Opening my eyes, I see the word 'INITIALIZING…' at the top right corner of my mirror like it was loading.
I splashed some more water on my face afraid I was dreaming or something but the funny thing was that even if I looked somewhere else it would seem as if the words were stuck in my eyes like some hologram being projected in front of me.
"What the hell is happening" I thought as I moved my face closer to the mirror to check if there was something in my eye.
"There's nothing there, so why is this thing showing up in front of me no matter where I go" I said as I began panic.
Moments later the text changes from Initializing to initialization complete
"INITIALIZATION COMPLETE"
A moment later I get all sorts of notifications,
"Booting system"
"System is now online"
The image of a blue wing is then displayed in front of my eyes before I heard a strange voice saying;
"Hello I am Blue"
