"Mr. Samuel, people can't just enter the building without authorization" said the receptionist hurriedly as she left her desk to obstruct us.
"Oh... I didn't know that but I guess you can make an exception for me" he simply said.
"Yes, you know no one's allowed into the building and no exceptions" said
I had never seen such a bold liar even when he was caught he didn't blink.
"Come on look at him, does he look like he would lie?" asked Samuel as he stared at receptionist.
"I don't care, rules are rules" she said.
…
"Hey dude, why are we even here?" asked Grey as he walked in on the argument.
Both Samuel and the receptionist stopped arguing as they looked at Grey and Enri before disregarding them both to continue arguing.
Walking towards me Enri asked "What's up with the both of them?"
"Yeah what's wrong with them, she totally paid no attention to me" said Grey.
"Don't look at me, I'm also slightly confused" I said as I put my arms up in surrender.
They kept on bickering as they completely forgot we were there.
…
"What's all the noise about?" said Coach Michael as he emerged from the corridor.
"Nothing" answered Samuel snappily, while the receptionist just glared at Samuel without saying anything.
"Then try not be so loud" he said
"Hyla, it seems you have made a decision" said coach Michael as he looked at me with a smile plastered on his face.
"Yes" I replied.
"Come with me" he said as he motioned for me to accompany him.
I didn't follow him, as I stood next to Enri and Grey. Turning back, he noticed I was not behind him but was standing next to them.
"Your friends can come along" he said before he continued going forward.
"How do you know him?" asked Grey.
"Well, you remember when I said I was going to meet the Course Adviser, well I was going to the gym" I said guiltily as we walked behind him.
"You went to the gym?" asked Grey.
"Yeah"
"That was why you were acting differently" said Grey.
"Yeah"
"Is there something wrong with your cousin" asked Enri perplexed.
"Honestly, I don't know" replied Grey as he looked me right in the eyes as if hoping to see something in it.
"Can you not be weird" I said.
"How do you expect me to not be weird?" asked Grey, "You went to the gym, you, who hates exercising" he said as he put emphasis on the words hate and exercising.
"well, what did you expect people change" I said as I tried to make it sound like it was expected.
"Sure, whatever you say"
…
We took the elevator upstairs as he gave us a tour of the building, although the building only had Seven floors, each floor was used for a different category of sport, they had a floor dedicated to winter sports although it was just a skating rink which took up the whole space on that floor, another for Water sports like swimming and they had a bigger pool behind that building which the diving team usually used.
They had a Basketball court on another floor but it could be used for numerous different things from volley ball to hand ball, basically each floor of the building was like a little continent of its own, they still had a general gym with a medical team specifically for the athletes.
…
"This is my office" said Coach Michael as he opened a door before walking inside. "Have a seat" he said as he took his.
"I'm sure you know the reason why I'm here" I said going straight to the point.
"Yes, so what do you say? Are you in or out?" he asked.
"I'm in" I answered.
"Yeah me too" said Grey.
"Count me in" Chimed Enri.
Laughing Coach Michael looks at Grey and Enri before saying "Sure", unknowingly Grey and Enri had a sudden feeling of impending danger after hearing him say "sure".
"Wait what are we signing up for? asked Enri.
"You are not signing up, you are already in" said Coach Michael before he stood up and patted Enri and Grey on shoulders.
"There's a slight problem, I don't know which team to join so can you draft me an intense workout regime?" I asked, "So I can find what I'm interested in."
"Done" replied Coach Michael as he brought out a file, "I had a feeling you might say something like that." He said as he passed me the file.
Opening the file, I am blasted with an influx of new information, from when I wake up to when I slept every single time was accounted for. He even made me nutrition plan for everything I should and shouldn't eat.
"We start tomorrow" he said.
"I have something to do the day after tomorrow" I said as I remembered I had to go to the music concert with Katrina.
"No problem" he simply replied.
Grey and Enri had started panicking, Enri suddenly had a case of hiccups as for grey he tried to put on a tough guy act but I could see it in his eyes, deep down he wished he never followed me here but it was already too late now.
He gave us a quick breakdown about everything we needed to know with a smile on his face.
…
At the dorm,
"I've been having a lot of bad vibes ever since we went to the gym" said Enri whose hands were completely cold.
"Me too" said Grey
"What did he say his name was?" asked Enri as he took out his laptop.
"He said if we want to know more about him we should search using the keywords 'The Devils Coach'," I said.
After the sound of fingers on keyboard, I heard a sudden gasp. I turned around to check what happened only to see Enri's face was colorless and frozen.
"What happened?"
"He's a monster" said Enri as he looked at his screen.
