What’s For Lunch?

"Wh-What is he doing here?" questioned Amber in her mind. Amber took out a book from her bag and opened it. She placed it vertically on the table to cover her face, attempting to avoid any eye contact with him or the teacher.

"Ah yes. Kian you can sit there," said the teacher as she pointed to the seat in front of Amber. Kian nodded his head and walked towards the seat that he was appointed to. Amber took a slight peak and saw him walking towards her. "Oh great.... is this one of those romance anime where the main character meet the transfer student coincidentally before school and somehow get assigned to the same class due to fate which makes the main character happy cause I am certainly not enjoying this!" thought Amber in her mind.

*tok* *tok* *tok*

The sound of the wooden floor echoed around the entire classroom. Everyone looked at him as he headed to his seat. The silent room made everything rather awkward to him. "Why is everyone staring at me?" thought Kian in his mind as he pulled the chair back. He glanced around the classroom before starting to look out the large window that was fixated onto the wall next to him.

He placed his bag down by the seat and sat down. The silence was then broken by teacher as she said "Alright everyone, this is the first day of our new semester. I'm Ms. Melody and I am your class teacher for this semester once again. I'm pretty sure many of you already know me so I hope we get along this year again. Before we begin, any questions?"

A girl from the front seat raised up her hand. "Teacher! Teacher! How are you are your boyfriend going? Hm?" asked the girl, before starting to giggle along with several other classmates.

Ceryn Hughes. 13 years old, skipped grade due to her exceptional grades and intelligent mind. 148cm. She has dark brown hair that is let straight down. Her eyes are central heterochromic of blue to a circle of yellow. This has caused her to be known by the nickname of Optimism, probably the connotations of the word yellow? I have no idea. Anyways let's get back to the scene.

" Ahem, Ceryn. That's a question for another day," replied Ms Melody, slightly embarrased.

"Oh~ So things did happen I see! Hehe~" said Ceryn as she winked at Ms Melody.

With intentions of ignoring the answer of Ceryn, Ms Melody said "Ok, anymore questions? No? Let's begin our class then!" before taking out her chalk, starting to teach.

In the midst of class, there is Amber who was about to fall asleep due to the historical lullaby chant of the teacher. Her head began dropping like a fishing line, going back and forth. She was about to drop on the table as a paper ball hit her head. She picked up the paper ball and looked around the classroom. She noticed Ceryn who was looking at her and making some hand signals.

After several seconds of trying to interpret what Ceryn was saying, Amber opened up the paper ball which wrote "Amber Amber! What'cha doing later? I'm bored! What'cha having for lunch?" Amber looked at Ceryn and as she wanted to say something, Amber was called upon by the teacher.

"Amber! Yes! Come on out and solve this math question. This question should be easy since y'all have most likely learned it during primary school" said Ms Melody. Amber stood up and smiled. "So her name is Amber huh?" thought Kian, in his mind.

"Ugh.. why me out of everyone?" thought Amber as she dragged her feet to the front of the class. She looked at the mathematical problem on the large smart board as Ms Melody handed her the board pen.

"Aight, no pressure here!" said Ms Melody. Amber looked at her and began solving the question on the board. Within a split second, she was done. "Amazing, thank you Amber. You can head back to your seat now," said Ms Melody.

*Riiiiinnngggggg*

"There goes the bell! Everyone can leave for lunch now." said Ms Melody before picking her things up and leaving the classroom. Amber looked towards Kian who was surrounded by half of the girls in the classroom. "Heyyyyyy! Where you looking at?" said Ceryn as she waved at the front of Amber's face.

"Let's go for lunch!" said Brittany.

Brittany Lane. Another 14 year old teenager in Amber's class. She is 1 month younger than Amber and is a good friend of hers as well. Brittany is about 164cm and she possess straight dark brown hair along with a pair of dark brown eyes. She is a kind person but is noted to be quite nonsensical with her behaviour at times. Nevertheless, she is still very much liked by many.

"Yea.. sure!" replied Amber as she turned and walked towards the cafeteria along with Brittany and Ceryn. The three of them were having a quick chat while walking down the hallway.

"And? Is there anyone who caught ur eye on the new semester?" said Ceryn cheekily towards the other two girls. "NO WAY! Not like there's anyone good looking except for the new student! What was his name again?" said Brittany as she laughed. Amber kept quiet during the entire conversation with Kian constantly appear in her mind.

"Ugh... what did I get myself into at the start of the school year! All I want is to play games T.T !" thought Amber in her mind while hearing two of her other friends blabber about. Finally they reached the cafeteria.

"I've brought my packed lunch with me so Imma go grab a seat first. Y'all can come after getting ur meal," said Brittany as she headed towards an empty table at the middle of the cafeteria. "Ah me too!" said Ceryn as she followed Brittany from behind.

"Imma go grab some food from the counter first then," thought Amber. When she turned towards the counter, she accidentally knocks into someone who was going the conflicting path of where she intend to go. She immediately fell towards the ground.

"Ah, I'm sorry" said Amber as she lifted her head down to see who it was.

"It's you!" said Amber with a rather significant voice.
