Heavenly Family
Hicks sits in the pond quietly for a bit, until he hears a rustling coming from a tree. He quickly grabs a rock and tosses it towards the sound. The rock quickly flies over and somebody leaps of out the tree to dodge the rock.
(Li Na)
"You knew it was me so why did you throw the rock?"
(Hicks)
"Last time I saw you, you tried to attack me. What am I supposed to think"
(Li Na)
"You hit a lady, you deserved it. Anyway Grandmaster would like to see you, properly this time"
Hicks gets up and grabs his clothes, he walks up to Li Na, holding his clothes in his hand, she tries to look away while blushing
(Hicks)
"I'll change now, please don't look at me"
Li Na nods and Hicks leaves, when he returns he has his clothes on and they go to meet Zhang Daoling. They walk past Zhang Daoling's isolation chamber
(Hicks)
"I thought we were meeting up with Grandmaster?"
(Li Na)
"We are, just with the other elders as well"
(Hicks)
"Ah well... I just realized I'm really busy and can't afford to waste anytime right now"
(Li Ning)
"Hey coward, who do you think you are denying an order"
(Hicks)
"And we're doing this again"
Hicks turns around and Li Ning is there, he sighs in disappointment and tries to walk away. Li Na goes infront of him in attempt to stop him. Hicks just walks around her and continues to leave. Li Ning goes to throw a punch at him but before she lands it Hicks glares at her. The glare is so sharp that she stops and retreats back.
(Li Ning)
"Can you please just go and meet the master, he's been waiting to meet you properly"
(Hicks)
"I remember Grandmaster saying he would follow any order of mine, so tell him this, leave me alone before I go get Brother Mao Li"
(Li Na & Li Ning)
"Brother Mao Li? You mean the treasurer?"
(Li Ning)
"Ha you must be bluffing,there's no way such an important person would help you. What would he get from helping YOU? He's a treasurer, he has everything"
(Hicks)
"Your opinion doesn't matter to me, I'm leaving!"
(Li Ning)
"Stop right there! You will meet the Grandmaster!"
(Hicks)
"Make me, unless you don't want to be beat like a dog again"
Hicks walks away and Li Ning tries to go and stop him. She is stopped by Li Na who shakes her head and let's Hicks leave. Hicks goes to the border and climbs to the other side.
(Hicks)
"Well I guess I should start training"
(Argent)
"Ok but I want you to do this special type of training. I want you to go to the middle of the forest and sit down"
(Hicks)
"You know there are demon beasts there right?"
(Argent)
"Yup, I want you to meditate there while demon beasts attack you, I'll only attract weak ones to your position. If there are any strong ones I'll tell you"
(Hicks)
"You said you would help me so I'll trust you"
Hicks walks into the forest, when he reaches the middle of the forest he finds a flower.
(Argent)
"Oh you stumbled upon a Blood Rose, apparently they are created from the blood of thousands of cultivators. This place must've been a war zone at one point. The cultivators blood must have been like fertilizer to this forest"
(Hicks)
"That's creepy, so you want me to just meditate here?"
(Argent)
"Well actually come into the void and practice the Elemental Dragons technique"
(Hicks)
"You know that leaves my body completely open to demon beasts?"
(Argent)
"And that is your training, don't worry about your body so much, you are super strong. You can kill many bronze star demon beasts so quickly"
Hicks sits down next to the Blood rose and goes into the void. In the void he sits down and starts cultivating the Elemental Dragons Technique. Red and Yellow Qi energy start emitting from his body, they then start to take the form of one Yellow and one red dragon and they start to fly around the void. Hicks' eyes are closed so he misses such a marvel. The dragons leave a trail of Qi behind them, they go to Argent and he starts running away from them wanting to play with them, the dragons chase Argent and they play while Hicks sits there and cultivates.
(Argent)
*Who knew he would be able to do this. He isn't even aware of what's happening, is he that focused? Maybe he forgot about his body, I should go check*
Argent focuses and he can see what is happening to Hicks' body. What he sees shocks him. He is surrounded by weak demon beasts. They are all just laying around him sleeping and some baby demon beasts are playing with each other. There are some small bird like demon beasts sleeping on his shoulder.
(Argent)
*maybe I should tell him*
Argent looks at Hicks but notices how focused he is
*Maybe not*
He then goes back to playing with the Qi Dragons.
Times passes and Argent wakes up from a nap, he quickly goes to check what has happened to Hicks and notices that his physical body is surrounded in a deep dark blood red aura. He looks at Hicks in the void and he looks normal
(Argent)
"Ah the Blood Rose!"
He takes a look and sees that the blood rose is a pale white color now
*He absorbed all the energy from the rose, incredible, this kid is full of surprises*
Argent pokes Hicks in the face and Hicks breaks concentration.
(Hicks)
"So am I done?"
(Argent)
"Yeah you can go back now"
Hicks leaves the void and awakens to a large amount of weak demon beasts all sleeping
(Hicks)
*Sleeping Demon Beasts!... SLEEPING DEMON BEASTS*
He quickly looks into the sky and it is night time. The mine is full but still he is surrounded in darkness.
Hicks moves very slowly putting one hand of the ground
(Argent)
"There's some sleeping demon beast children next on you so I wouldn't move, just meditate till morning"
Hicks meditates for a long time but simply ends up sleeping.
(Argent)
"Alright you can leave!"
The demon beasts suddenly get up and leave. Some going into the bushes and trees, and some just flying away.
A long while later it is morning, Hicks awakens and all the demon beasts are gone.
(Hicks)
"They're gone, I'll take this chance to leave"
Hicks gets up quickly and starts running towards the border. He goes over the border and goes to his house. He grabs a broom and goes to an area of the Pavilion
(Hicks)
"It's been a while since I've done some community work so I'll sweep around a little"
As Hicks is sweeping he accidentally bumps into Li Na as she walks past reading a book
(Li Na)
"Sorry about that"
(Hicks)
"Oh hey Li Na! What's up"
Li Na looks up from her book
(Li Na)
"HICKS!!!"
She runs at him and gives him a hug
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!!!"
(Hicks)
"What are you talking about?!?!"
(Li Na)
"What do you mean? You've been gone for two months!"
(Hicks)
"Very funny, now actually, what's your problem"
(Li Na)
"I'm serious! I was worried!"
(Argent)
"Yeah you have been cultivating for a little over two months now"
(Hicks)
"JACKASS WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!!!!"
(Li Na)
"I'm sorry, I didn't know where you were! How could I tell you"
(Hicks)
"Ah no, not you I meant... never-mind, I need to go see Grandmaster, see you later"
Li Na smiles
(Li Na)
"See you!"
(Hicks)
"If it wouldn't be too much trouble could you take this broom back to my shack"
(Li Na)
"Yeah sure"
Hicks hands her the broom and he heads to the Main Hall. When he reaches the entrance two guards block him from entering.
(Both Guards)
"The elders are in a meeting, get your ass out of here"
Hicks walks right past them and pushes the huge door open. When he enters he sees the Grandmaster talking to the Elders
(An Elder)
"HOW DARE YOU INTRUDE OUR MEETING!!! DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH!!!"
(Hicks)
"Shut up old man"
(Elder)
"INSOLENT CURR!! Grandmaster what shall we do if this boy?!??"
(Zhang Daoling)
"Brother Hicks, it's been quite some time, yes?"
(Hicks)
"Yeah whatever, I'm gonna go into town is that okay?"
(Zhang Daoling)
"Well you see, I can't let you do that. There are two esteemed guests here that you do not want to disobey. They are from the Heavenly, I wish you not provoke them. They came to see you, I hope you comply
(Hicks)
"Heavenly Family Huh? Very well, I shall see them."
(Zhang Daoling)
"Very well, follow me"
Zhang Daoling leads Hicks to a door, when Zhang Daoling is about to grab the handle door, it suddenly bursts open and a bird flies out and lands on Hicks' shoulder.
(Zhang Daoling)
"An Emperor Eagle, why does it treat you so well? Emperor Eagles are usually aggressive only complying to those of the Heavenly Family"
A large but young man and a Beautiful woman walk out of the room
(The large man)
"State your name kid"
(Argent)
"They are strong, stronger than that old man"
(Hicks)
"Hicksbess, son of Jiro, of The Heavenly Family"
Zhang Daoling looks in shock
(Zhang Daoling)
*The Heavenly Family is the strongest Family in the East Nation, no wonder Hicksbess is so powerful*
The large man and woman bow towards Hicks
(Hicks)
"Arise, what is your business here?"
(The Large Man)
"I am Yuning and this old hag is Chi"
(Chi)
"OLD HAG!!! IM ONLY 29"
(Yuning)
"AND I'M 22!!! TO ME YOU'RE OLD!!! Sorry young master, we have come here for the family challenge."
(Hicks)
"Enough with the young master, call me Hicks. Isn't the Family Challenge supposed to be in another 6 years?"
(Yuning)
"Yes but this generation's young are exceptional, the Challenge will be early"
(Zhang Daoling)
"Sorry to intrude, but what is this family challenge?"
(Chi)
"Speak only when spoken to old man! I'll explain it to you though, the Heavenly Family challenge was created to decide who will lead the Family when the current leader bites the dust. They will fight cousins and siblings for the title. The young master here is of the main family. He is a direct descendant of the current leader"
(Zhang Daoling)
"So what you are saying is -"
(Hicks)
"The current leader is my father, and I'm going to fight so my family can retain the title"
