Training with Endeavor

Four months had passed since Kei started living with Detective Naomasa. It was now late January and the final term of the school year for Kei had started earlier in the month.

Aside from going to school and training. Kei would spend some of his extra time with Detective Naomasa. While other times he would do things like listen to music, drawing, or just do more research to get ideas on how to use his ability more naturally.

Keis daily routine had been the same during all this time.

On one weekday in the afternoon Kei, who had just finished his training saw Detective Naomasa waiting for him.

When Kei saw him waiting , he wondered what it was Detective Naomasa needed him for.

Once Kei was in front of Detective Naomasa.

Detective Naomasa asked Kei "how was your training practice today?"

"Tiring like always, but also getting better at controlling my quirk" responded Kei with a cheerful smile on his face

Kei who had been living with Detective Naomasa these past four months had changed a great deal.

At first when Kei had moved in with Detective Naomasa, he was nothing but skin and bones. The years of him being malnourished for years was apparent on his body.

Now, after months of living with Detective Naomasa. Keis body had filled up to a healthy degree. He now had some meat and fat on him.

After almost four months of training he had gained a little bit of muscle. Not so much where it was very apparent. Just enough to the point that random people would think to themselves 'from the looks of this kid, he must be quite active'.

Detective Naomasa could not help but smile whenever he saw the current Kei.

The Kei now compared to the Kei he had first met. Were so different that if people saw a picture of Kei then and now. They would not believe it was the same person.

Aside from the change of his physique. Kei had also cut his hair shorter in a neatly side brushed hair with low faded sides.

Finally after a few moments of reminiscing. Detective Naomasa started talking to Kei about the reason he had been waiting for him to finish his practice.

"Kei I have some great news to tell you" said Detective Naomasa in an excited tone

"Really?, what is it?" Asked Kei

"Well, you remember asking me for a favor a few months back" said Detective Naomasa

Kei who was having trouble remembering the favor. Could not help but try to think back about the favor Detective Naomasa was talking about.

Finally after a few seconds of thinking. Kei remembered the favor Detective Naomasa was talking about.

With an excited look on his face Kei finally asked

"Do you mean the favor of you asking Endeavor to train me?"

"That's the one" said Detective Naomasa before he continued

"After a few months of pestering him he finally agreed to train you, but because of his busy schedule he can only give you training for two hours, one day out of the week"

When Detective Naomasa told Kei that it was only going to be one day a week. He was expecting Kei to feel a little disappointed about the short time he would train with Endeavor.

When Kei heard Detective Naomasa say it was only going to be one day a week. He felt this was good enough. After all the reason he wanted to train with Endeavor, was so he could train to control his fire element.

"Two hours is more than enough. Thank you for convincing Endeavor to take the time to train me" said Kei with an excited look on his face

Detective Naomasa who saw Kei getting excited could finally relax. He also could not help but start to worry.

Endeavor wasn't known for going easy on the people he trained. If anything, he was known for pushing people too hard during their training sessions. Even Endeavors own son was no exception.

'I hope he does not come to regret asking to training with Endeavor' thought Detective Naomasa

"All that is left is to pick which day of the week you will be training with him" said Detective Naomasa

"Tuesday, lets have him train me on Tuesdays" responded Kei

Tuesday's were already keis day to practice his fire element. So training with Endeavor on Tuesday would be best. That way he wouldn't have to change his training schedule for the other four elements he was practicing.

"Alright, I will get in contact with Endeavor and let him know" said Detective Naomasa

"Great" responded Kei

"By the way, what is for dinner" asked Kei

"Kakuni bossam with rice, and fried vegetables on the side" responded Detective Naomasa

"Sounds great, let's go eat I'm starving" said Kei while quickly making his way into the house

"Alright, alright, what's the rush. It's not like the food is going anywhere" said Detective Naomasa

"Not yet it isn't" responded Kei

Somewhere in the city. In a luxurious skyscraper. A

Man on the top floor of the building could be seen sitting in front of his desk.

The man had a serious look on his face as he was deep in thought.

A while ago he had reluctantly agreed to a request from a detective he was acquainted with.

The detective in question had been continuing to ask him to train a young boy. The man had told him time after time that he was too busy to do such a thing.

'How the hell did I get convinced to train that kid' thought the man

As he recalled one of the previous talks his sidekicks had amongst themselves. He could not help to say 'I can't believe they tricked me into it'

He remembered one of their discussions in particular.

———————————————————————-

"Hey, I heard Detective Naomasa asked the boss if he could train his son" said one of his sidekicks to another sidekick that was next to him

"For real? What did the say?" Responded the other sidekick

"What do you think he said Burnin" responded the sidekick before continuing

"I am too busy to waste my time training a kid"

Burnin who heard that responded with a small laugh "haha, although he is busy. Don't we usually do a lot of the day to day stuff"

The other sidekick responded "your right, he definitely has more than enough time to train the kid. I wonder why he doesn't want to train him"

"Isn't it obvious why he doesn't want to train him" said burnin to the other sidekick

"Really? I'm still not sure why it's obvious" said the sidekick with a confused look on his face

"Well since you haven't figured it out, I'll tell you" said burnin who had a mischievous smile before she continued

"It is because the boss knows the boy is going to quit on day one"

"Seriously, how could the boss be sure that would happen" said the other sidekick with a look that said he didn't believe what Burnin was saying

"Come on, even you have seen a few pro heroes come to train with him. So tell me, how many ever returned for a second training session?" Asked Burnin with a questioning look

When the sidekick heard that question. he finally understood why Burnin was sure the boy would not return.

"You are right. I really have not seen anyone come for a second time to train with him"

"That is because the bosses training regiment is too tough for anyone to endure besides him" said Burnin with a look of absolute certainty before she continued

"I mean, even his son quit after a few training sessions"

Finally Burnin finished with "let's face it, when it comes to training people. Our boss just isn't good at that sort of thing"

Their boss, who had been eavesdropping on their conversation was pissed when he heard what they were saying.

Not good at training people. It's not that he was bad at training them, it was that they weren't really motivated to improve themselves in the first place.

After a few seconds. The boss pretended to just pass by and after pretending to just see Burnin and the other sidekick.

He then said "Burnin, contact Detective Naomasa and let him know that I will train his son one day a week for two hours. Have him let us know which day is good with him" before continuing to his office

The boss who was still sitting in front of his desk. Was the number two hero Endeavor.

Thinking of the fact that he will be training Detective Naomasas son every Tuesday. Endeavor couldn't help but feel that he was going to be wasting his time.

'Maybe they are right' thought Endeavor before his thoughts continued

'Maybe he will quit right after the first day'

When Endeavor thought to there. He said to himself "if he can't handle the training I have planned for him. Then it just means that he doesn't have the conviction to become a great hero"

As Endeavor said this he started writing down the training regiment that Kei would be doing.

———————————————————————-

Tuesday had finally arrived. Kei who had been waiting for this day was full of spirit to train.

After School finished Detective Naomasa picked Kei up and took him to Endeavors hero agency to train.

When Kei got there, he couldn't help but be impressed at the agency Endeavor had.

'It looks much more impressive in person' thought Kei as he kept looking at the building he had only seen in the manga and anime in his previous life.

"So your the lucky boy who is going to be training with the boss" said a smiling woman with copper flame green hair and red-orange eyes

Kei recognized this woman as Burnin, one of Endeavors sidekicks.

"Yes, that is me" said Kei as he continued to speak to Burnin

"I am Naomasa Kei, it is a pleasure to meet you"

"Well look at that, you even have good manners. Well follow me, I'll take you to the boss so you can start your training" said Burnin as she held Kei by the hand and proceeded to take Kei inside the building

"Good luck and train hard Kei. I will come back in two hours to pick you up" said Detective Naomasa to Kei who was being taken inside to start his training

"Ok, see you later" said Kei as he finally entered the building

———————————————————————

Finally Kei reached the training floor Endeavor was in.

"Your finally here. Hurry up and do some stretches before we begin" said Endeavor to Kei

"Yes sir" said Kei

Finally, after Kei finished stretching. Endeavor with a serious look on his face began to explain the training Kei will be going through.

"For the first half hour you will be doing aerobic exercise. After that will be a half hour of intense endurance training. Following that we will move on to half an hour of strength building and finish off with balance training"

When Kei heard that he could not help but feel something was missing.

"Excuse me, Mr Endeavor, but didn't you forget the part of teaching me how to train my quirk?" asked Kei

"I didn't forget" said Endeavor before he looked Kei straight in the eye and continued

"If you want to learn how to use your quirk from me. You will first need to show me you deserve to learn by completing my training regimen. Only after going through this training for the next month and succeeding to impress me will I finally train you to use your quirk"

When Kei heard that, although a little disappointed that he wasn't learning how to better control his quirk. He didn't feel like it was too bad to wait a month.

'It's only four training sessions. How bad could it be' thought Kei

"Alright now that your ready let's begin"

And with those words by Endeavor. Keis first training session had begun.

——————————————————————-

Two hours later in the same training floor.

Endeavor who was looking at Kei who was completely exhausted on the floor.

'He actually completed the entire training session'

Endeavor was impressed with keis dedication to improve himself.

'Don't think too much of it, after all it is only the first session'

Endeavor feeling impressed. Reminded himself that there were still three more sessions before he would teach Kei to control his quirk.

"You did good for your first time. Be here next week at the same time. I'll have a sidekick help you go out to your father" said Endeavor

When Kei, who had long collapsed on the floor heard that. He couldn't help but think of the training he had just gone through.

'Fuck, is this training even meant for humans'

The training Endeavor had for him was far too intense.

'No wonder Todoroki didn't want to train with his father anymore'

If he didn't have the mentality of an adult. Kei was sure that, he who was in the body of a child would not have endured this so called training

The last thing Kei was thinking before the sidekick Endeavor called over to help him up was

'Only three sessions left before he starts teaching me on my quirk'
