Xiao Yifeng held up a drunk Fei Huangjin off his couch. "Let's go. I'm driving you home." That idiot Zhang Zihan had purposely gunned the whiskey and fed Fei Huangjin an entire bottle and then some. It wasn't a surprise that the man could hardly stand up on his own.
The worst part was that Zhang Zihan had run off before he could be asked to drive Fei Huangjin home. That bastard. He was probably out to find a woman.
"I'm not drunk, I'm just tipsy." Fei Huangjin pushed Xiao Yifeng away, but after two seconds, he staggered and had to support himself against the wall.
"Oh, hell yes, you're definitely not drunk." He grimaced and took the man's arm, quickly locking up his upscale penthouse condo as he half-dragged Fei Huangjin down to his car.
He pushed him inside the passenger seat and wiped the beads of sweat on his brow. He hadn't been anyone's designated driver for years now. And ever since Fei Huangjin took over Fei International, he hadn't allowed himself to get drunk. Just what had gotten into this man's head?
He got in the driver's seat and looked over with a frown at the passed-out Fei Huangjin beside him. The man's mouth was slightly ajar and his body was limp, but there were tension lines across his forehead, like he wasn't at peace even in his sleep.
Xiao Yifeng sighed and started driving.
When they were halfway to Majestic Gardens where Fei Huangjin lived, the man beside him stirred, looking around groggily with his eyes narrowed.
"We're almost at your house." He stated.
It seemed that Fei Huangjin was already partly sober, shaking his head and rubbing his temples in concentration. "No, drive me to Sea View Horizons."
Xiao Yifeng's eyebrows went up as he glanced at him. "What?"
"Sea View Horizons."
"I heard what you said." Xiao Yifeng's lips pursed as he struggled to focus on the road before him. "What do you think you want to do at your girlfriend's place? You're still drunk."
"Sea View Horizons," Fei Huangjin repeated. His eyes were closed as he rubbed the spot between his eyes.
Feeling helpless, Xiao Yifeng obliged, making a U-turn.
***
Fei Huangjin was damn well lucky that Xiao Yifeng owned the high-rise apartment complex that was Sea View Horizons. Otherwise, with his drunkenness, the security would never have let him in.
He could now walk by himself, but not in a straight line, making Xiao Yifeng roll his eyes in frustration as he supported him to Ying Yue's apartment.
Xiao Yifeng's eyes were immediately drawn to the unusual security system at Secretary Ying's door. Instead of the usual keycard and code pass system his enterprise had installed in their buildings, hers was upgraded to a fingerprint scanner.
His eyebrows sunk deeper.
"Knock." Fei Huangjin slurringly instructed.
His lips thinned as he glanced at the man he was supporting up. Did this guy even realize that there was a doorbell button right beside the door? He ignored the man's words and pressed the door bell twice.
There were faint sounds behind the door before it was abruptly opened to reveal Secretary Ying, donning a large t-shirt and pink cotton shorts. Her face was barren of makeup and she looked younger than usual.
"CEO Xiao?" Her eyes were wide as they flitted from Xiao Yifeng to the drunk Fei Huangjin beside him. "Huangjin."
"Apologies for the intrusion, Secretary Ying. Can I bring Fei Huangjin inside?" He said politely.
Ying Yue was still confused how she ended up with two guests tonight. She watched Xiao Yifeng lead Fei Huangjin to her living room and depositing him in the couch.
As if sensing her confusion, he glanced at Ying Yue and grimaced. "He's drunk and asked to be driven here. I'll be taking my leave now."
She nodded in reply. "Thank you, CEO Xiao."
