Her eyes widened slightly before narrowing again. And then she looked away as a faint blush crept up to her cheeks, making her seem like a delicate flower. To Fei Huangjin it might have seemed like an act of being shy, but in truth, it was because she felt furious at herself for getting easily swept away by a man's charms -- even if that man was her husband.
Just how much had she changed since she fell in love with him, really?
Wait, fell in love? She blinked that thought away.
"I'm sorry, but I have to finish up some work." Her statement stunned him, and his momentary distraction allowed her to sit up and push him away gently. "This place was left to me, for me to take charge of and make sure that Juyan lives on… I have to start being a proper Director of the Agency if I want that to happen. You do understand what I mean, right?"
He looked at her deeply. He didn't seem to dislike her tone of refusal, but neither did it seem like he was happy that she had pushed him away either.
Then again, it's not like he could force her to drop her work so he could do naughty things with her. Ugh, when was the last time they'd even done it anyway? Was it the other day? He wanted to feel her skin again. Oh, well… "If you want to work a bit longer, I can go and bring back dinner."
Ying Yue's eyes shined, and her mood did a complete 180. "Dinner? Can I have salmon and dumplings?"
Fei Huangjin gazed at her with an exasperated look. How could this woman be more excited to have dinner than having intimacy with him? "Salmon… and dumplings? I don't think those two go together quite nicely."
"I don't care. I want both." She grinned.
Ying Yue went back to her desk and Fei Huangjin stood up to fetch food, but not without a longing look towards his wife. Damn, was food more enticing than going to bed with him now? Fei Huangjin, you must've lost your charm.

Song Yinan sat on his bed, about two hundred miles to the west of S city. It was far enough to hide, but not far enough to avoid being found. So why was it, that his so-called 'sister' hadn't even bothered to look for him?
"Just because you two are blood-related doesn't mean she cares for you."
"Why do you think she's thought of you dead all these years?"
"She treated you well because of her guilt. There was nothing to it, Yinan."
"You're overthinking her kindness."
"She even left you in that place to hide and die, while she gets saved by Fei Huangjin."
"If you doubt my words, then only time would tell. She wouldn't even care to look for you."
"Just you wait."
It's been weeks, and yet no one had even bothered to look for him.
For some reason, an odd sense of hate started to bloom inside his chest the more he thought about it. When she broke the news of their relationship, he had started to feel relief, and a sense of happiness that he was connected to someone, and that he was important to a person. He'd spent six years trying to figure out who he really was, until he finally discovered that he was someone's 'brother.'
But after all this time… it seems he held no value to that person, after all.
He slumped back onto the bed. Su Jianjun was right.
An ugly expression appeared on Song Yinan's face as he thought about her tear-filled eyes and that sad but fierce look that she had on her face, right when she told him that she needed to go, but that she'd come back for him for sure.
He hated it. He hated her eyes. He hated the hope she made him feel. He hated her! How dare she… after everything he'd been through, this is how she treats him? He didn't deserve this.
