"Zihan!" Fei Huangjin hissed. But it was too late; the hostess already nodded in a sly smile and went off to get them some company. VX was popular because of their wide range of "female companions" that you could ask on a nightly basis. Unfortunately, Fei Huangjin was having none of it. "I'm going home."
Zhang Zihan got up and stopped him. "Hey, hey, hey. You haven't even hung out with us properly since you got married. Don't ditch us now."
It was Xiao Yifeng who understood the situation. Even when they were all bachelors, Fei Huangjin always disliked having girls over at their table. However, he used to only ignore them, but now he was actively trying to get out of the situation. "If you're leaving because of the women, Zihan and I can have three of them each."
Fei Huangjin eyed Xiao Yifeng's friendly smile and then shifted his gaze to Zhang Zihan, who shrugged his shoulders and grinned. True enough, he'd been preoccupied with both Ying Yue and his injury lately that he hadn't been catching up with them as much time as he used to. "Fine," he muttered unkindly. "But no woman on me."
The men cheered and they each took another glass of whiskey.
"How's the business going?" Fei Huangjin sipped from his glass and turned to the other two.
"The artificial intelligence technology I'm working on is having great improvements lately. You should come by my lab sometime," Zhang Zihan grinned as he leaned back. His usual confident demeanor was on full display right now, and aptly so because no other company came close to his in the country, and he was even breaking into the international market.
"Sure. I'll bring Ying Yue along." Fei Huangjin glanced at Xiao Yifeng, who looked somewhat distracted. "Problems with the company?"
Xiao Yifeng was pulled out of his thoughts and he flashed him a grimace. "Problems in the family."
"Family?" Zhang Zihan's eyebrow went up. "Is that why you've been drinking too much with me since earlier?" Xiao Yifeng had low alcohol tolerance, so drinking early into the night was unusual for him.
The man hung his head and rubbed the back of his neck. A confirmation that didn't need words.
Fei Huangjin noticed that he looked slumped and uneasy, much unlike the Xiao Yifeng he knew who always sat up straight no matter what was thrown at him. "Tell us. Perhaps Zihan and I can help."
"I doubt it." Xiao Yifeng turned his head to them. The troubled look on his face was apparent even with the dim but colorful lighting of the night club. "My grandfather's going to make my cousin the CEO of Xiao Enterprises unless I get married."
Zhang Zihan, who was sipping on some whiskey when Yifeng broke the news, immediately choked on his drink until booze seeped from his nose. "What. The--F?" He said in between bouts of cough.
Fei Huangjin looked at Yifeng deeply, unfazed by the revelation. He didn't find it much of a big deal "Getting married is actually pretty nice." He said after a while.
Xiao Yifeng and Zhang Zihan turned to him with confused, skeptical looks. Was this the Fei Huangjin they knew? The Huangjin who didn't even like being surrounded by pretty women in a club?
"I'm serious. Get a woman you like and marry her." Fei Huangjin took another sip of his whiskey, as if what he said was completely normal.
Out of the corner of his eye, Zhang Zihan saw the hostess arrive with six beautiful girls tailing behind her, and he immediately perked up. There was no better cure for depression than having some lovely time with alcohol and women! "Girls, girls, girls! Come here," he beckoned them over, satisfied with the ladies tonight. "Two for me and four for the sad man in a blue suit." He pointed to Xiao Yifeng with a grin.
The girls parted, two to four -- two sitting on either side of Zhang Zihan, and four crowding around Xiao Yifeng. It was truly their lucky day to be the companion of two out of the three richest young masters of S city.
Fei Huangjin, who was in the middle, shook his head in annoyance.
One of the four women around Xiao Yifeng, however, took his annoyance as frustration over not having a woman beside him. And seeing that the man drinking alone to his thoughts was none other than the newly-wed young master of the Fei family, she inched over and winked at him seductively instead.
