This time, his lips perked up into a real smile -- the same one that tugged at her heart whenever she saw it. There was no lingering sadness as he closed his eyes and chuckled at what she had said.
Although she didn't say outright that she loved him too, Fei Huangjin felt like the words she had uttered sounded even better. "Yes, let's go home," he agreed.
Ying Yue couldn't help but grin widely. For some reason, she felt inexplicably happy to see him happy. She pulled back and pinched his cheek with a sly look on her face. "You haven't apologized for that stunt you pulled earlier."
He grimaced at the reminder. "I'm sorry…"
"Because of that, the pastries I bought were thrown off and squished in the car. I hadn't even eaten a single cream puff yet!" She pouted.
Fei Huangjin ran a hand through his hair. Was that the reason she had been extremely furious earlier? "I'll buy you cream puffs on the way home. Hell, I can even buy the whole shop for you if you want."
She recoiled. She didn't know if she'd ever get used to marrying such a rich hottie. I mean seriously, who buys the whole shop to make up for destroying someone's box of pastries? "That won't be necessary, Huangjin. Buying me a box is fine."
His lips thinned as he looked at her skeptically. "Okay."
"Okay."
He helped her pack her laptop and documents, and then Fei Huangjin handed her the flowers he brought as he took her bag and slung it over his shoulder. And for the first time, the atmosphere surrounding them felt like they were an old married couple about to go home from work. "You should pick me up more often," she eyed him teasingly.
Fei Huangjin thought about it for a moment, but then to her surprise, he nodded. "I don't think that would be a problem."
She grinned back at him as he opened the office door for her, but when Ying Yue stepped out, she was immediately met with Xi Shenghui's tired eyes. "Shenghui! I was about to go look for you." Her gaze drifted down from the unreadable expression on the man's face to the stack of folders in his arms. "Are those… for me?"
"I was about to knock. These are all new projects I have to run through with you." He said pointedly.
Ying Yue flinched. A slight feeling of guilt washed over her as she realized that she was supposed to stay for a few more hours before she could knock off and let Shenghui take over. She glanced at Fei Huangjin uneasily. To think that she was the one who suggested they go home. She turned to Xi Shenghui with a smile. "They're projects that are lined up for tomorrow night and onwards, right?" He nodded. "Then let's go over them tomorrow. I'll be here at five in the morning, anyway.
Fei Huangjin glanced at her carefully. He realized that she was probably three times busier than when she was his secretary. And for her to report at five in the morning? Even for someone as workaholic as him, he'd never gone in the office earlier than six.
He knew she loved her sleep, and he didn't want her to get too much stress from work, or get her body clock messed up. He should just let her stay for a few more hours here. He could work while he waited, anyway. "Ying Yue--"
"And Shenghui, could you take over a bit earlier tonight? In exchange, you can take the day off tomorrow." Ying Yue flashed him a smile that he surely wouldn't be able to say no to.
Xi Shenghui looked at the both of them and sighed. Well, who was he to stand in the way of his boss's happiness, right? "Alright. And there's no need to give me a day-off."
Ying Yue raised an eyebrow at him. "No, I insist. Trust me, you need it."

"Sir, CEO Fei and the miss seems to have resolved their conflict." The man said over the phone as he watched the couple with binoculars as they entered their home at the Majestic Gardens.
"Oh, really?" Su Jianjun made a tsk-ing sound. His soft features were a stark contrast to the aura he was radiating at that moment. "That's a shame. Would've been easier to take her out without him sticking to her like glue."
The man grunted in agreement.
"Well, the plan stays."
