Yamishi's day at school was just the same as any other day. The only good thing was that they had less work due to the fact that there was an upcoming holiday.
As the school bell went off, Yamishi gathered all his belongings and met Misa at the front gate of the school.
"Hey, Yamishi. Are you ready?" Misa asked as she grabbed onto Yamishi's arm.
"Yeah, I'm all good. Where do you want to go?" Yamishi replied?
Misa leant on Yamishi's arm and spoke slowly with pauses in-between each word, "Let's. Find. Out."
Yamishi smiled and they began walking towards the train station as Misa didn't like travelling with the task force's driver.
Recently Yamishi had been enjoying Misa's company a lot more than usual. Actually, for the first time, he felt like he had someone he could trust apart from his own family.
They waited only 2 minutes before a train arrived at their platform. When it did they both got on.
10 minutes later the train arrived at a random station.
"Wanna get off here?" Misa asked while holding Yamishis hand.
Yamishi nodded and stood up from his seat, "Sure, I don't mind."
Misa smiled in response as they walked out from the train.
The two roamed the streets in search for something to do when Misa suddenly pulled Yamishi's arm, alerting him. She pointed at an arcade just across the road from them.
Yamishi looked at the arcade, then Misa and finally back at the arcade. "You want to go to an arcade? Isn't that a little... Nevermind."
"What? Are you scared I'll beat you at everything?" Misa said, pulling Yamishi by his arm towards the arcade in the process.
"Yea, sure. I'm the one who will be losing." Yamishi stated sarcastically.
Misa pulled Yamishi into the arcade, obviously excited to have some fun with him.
They walked up to a machine at the front of the building and Misa pulled out her phone to pay for credit to use in the arcade.
Before she could tap her phone onto the scanner, Yamishi had already placed his in front.
"I won't make you pay for this, " He said as he smiled at Misa.
In return, Misa put her phone back into her pocket and gave Yamishi an appreciative glance and said: "thank you."
Yamishi paid for 1000 credits, which was the equivalent of $500. Yamishi was rich so this wasn't much to him. Even if they didn't spend it all, it wouldn't matter.
"So, what first," Yamishi asked Misa as they walked through the rows on machines.
Misa looked around and quickly decided on what she wanted to do. "Let's play this one," she said, pointing at an Arcade machine.
When Yamishi saw the machine she was pointing at and smiled, "Ok let's play."
They walked up to the machine and Yamishi swiped his card, then pressed 1v1 mode.
The game Misa had chosen was a game called cook-off. The basic idea behind it was to collect as many good ingredients as they fell down the screen. Once the collecting fazes was over, it was the preparation faze. This would be completed by using the ingredients in three mini-games. After the Preparation had been finished it was time to put the ingredients together to make the best possible meal.
The entire time Yamishi had purposefully stayed just a little behind Misa in points, therefore letting her win the first game. Nevertheless, Yamishi felt like he was enjoying himself.
Next, they played a shooting game where Yamishi won.
In the end, both had a lot of fun. Even to the point where they lost count of the score and began laughing.
The date was a success. Yamishi took Misa back to her home later that night after having something to eat. Right before he left, however, Misa gave him a kiss.
This wasn't the first time she had done so, but she still felt embarrassed and closed the door on Yamishi.
....
Yamishi had finally made it home and laid on his bed.
'Ah, that was a lot more enjoyable than I had initially expected. Maybe we'll do it again sometime.' Yamishi thought to himself.
He took out his phone to see a message from Misa saying 'Thank you for today, I had a lot of fun.'
Yamishi replied with a simple 'no problem, I had fun too.'
Yamishi was tired after his day. Although it could be considered more relaxing than usual, it was still tiring.
So he turned his lights out and closed his eyes.
The last thing he said before going to sleep was, "Hey Ryuk, tomorrow we'll have some fun."
"Keke, finally..."
