Now, I'm stranded here on an Island with my useless partner. For now, I decided to collect materials.
I picked up a stone and it vanished, it automatically transferred to my inventory, well that's useful.
Because I don't have any tools for now. Hellena told me to punch a tree to collect materials.
Thatch is an easily obtainable resource harvested from trees, either by punching them or by using tools.
It sounded weird but when I tied to punch it. A text is written that me and Hellena can only see.
[Thatch Collected x100]
[Wood Collected x10]
I am surprised and asked Hellena why the amount I collected is too much and she answered.
"The higher-up gave you a gathering boost and exp boost because I asked them to."
She answered in a cheerful tone. Well, maybe she might be useful too.
Having enough resources, I crafter a stone pickaxe and hatchet. I accessed my inventory and press the crafting option to look for the tools that I want to craft and press craft. Finally, two tools appeared in my inventor. A normal looking stone pickaxe and hatchet.
I continued to gather materials and heard Hellena saying.
[Bingo! You have leveled up partner.]
I feel my body became stronger lightly. For this, I am level two
"How do you feel leveling up?"
I opened and close my hands and replied.
"I feel refreshed and stronger. By the way, Hellena, what do I do to level up fast?"
"In that, you have to explore, craft, gather, tame and breed your companions!"
So I will level up to in many ways, it can benefit me a lot.
It's also weird that I did not receive any quests like in games that I played, but I felt good about it because I don't have to feel pressured to some quests that have a time limit and consequences.
I continued to gather resources and manage to craft some clothe hat, shirt, gloves, pants, and boots to at least cover my body.
Hellena told me that Cloth Armor is the first tier of armor available. It provides very good protection from heat and minor protection from cold, but very little protection from physical damage. At least It helps me survive from climates.
I am still stuck on the shore and the megalodon was still looking at my direction. I even thought that what if it can devour the Island? and shook my head because it was impossible.
Herbivore Island is not that big but it can rival a city and because there are no carnivores on this Island, I decided to enter the explore.
But before that, I checked my inventory how much resources I gathered.
[x1000 flint]
[x1400 stone]
[x5000 thatch]
[x2000 wood]
Hellena was surprised that I gathered some and I can already make a small shelter for this. Then I decided to enter the area towards the center of the Herbivore Island because Hellena said sometimes water rises and the megalodons were circling around the island. Yes... She said Megalodons, Plural...
While walking in the forest. I did not encounter any large bugs like in movies. Deserving to be called Herbivore Island. Because I got bored walking, I asked Hellena about the Herbivore Island.
"Herbivore Island has a variety of friendly fern-eaters to tame for mounts. Remember that some will run when attacked and others may fight back. Some of these creatures can still be a challenge. One last tip, just because the island is safe, that doesn't mean the surrounding water is too. Megalodon will not say no to a free meal."
I know that Hellena, I know... But at least for now, my obstacle is the Megalodons. There is a raft that can be crafted. But I doubt it can survive from a single bite from that large fish.
Finally, as I am getting closer to the center, I finally heard some sound of creatures, it is not scary but instead, it feels like music to one's ear.
So realistic, the scenery I witness right now is as if those desktop pictures in computers...
The beautifully designed environment with no pollution and finally, I see the very first dinosaur.
I asked Hellena what kind of dinosaur it is and I heard a ding sound and a paper materialize in my hand. I opened the folded paper and read what is written on it.
Wild Parasaurolophus Amphibio has some of the more interesting adaptions of all the creatures you will see on The Herbivore Island. It has a signature ridge. Very docile at first, you will often able to approach them without complaint. If startled, however, the Parasaur immediately runs very far and very fast.
This species of Parasaur seems to have a previously disproved use for its ridge. Small openings at the top of the ridge allow it to be used as a snorkel. This is unique to Parasaurolophus Amphibia, as is their surprising speed in the water.
"Hellena? What is this?" I folded the paper again and asked Hellena?
"Partner, that thing is called explorer note and you can check what creature you have discovered in the very first time."
"Can I tame it?"
I am still a distance away and did not attack it so it is still there and did not run away.
"Wait let me check," Hellena said and went silent for a moment. Then a notification popped up.
[Parasaurolophus Amphibio - 450 - Tameable-Rideable]
Once again, I was shocked, the very first dinosaur I discovered, is a level four hundred and fifty.
It may be an Herbivore but our level difference is too much.
"Hellena, What can I do to tame it."
I want to have a companion right away, and as it said, it is fast in the water so it maybe can help me when the time comes.
"Parasaurs can be knocked out fairly easily using either one's fists or a slingshot, although they will flee quickly after the first hit and must be chased. After a Parasaur has been knocked unconscious, Narcoberries can be used to keep it in this state. They will eat other berries they prefer Mejoberries, which will gradually tame them."
I nodded and backed away. Sorting my inventory, I found a weapon that can maybe help me tame it, faster and can't run that easily.
