Nhamo and his goons were planning on stealing the transformers from the substations when the question of transportation was raised by one of the goons. The was a brief silence and Nhamo looked across the warehouse to where Mr Fear was sitting fixing something. Nhamo didn't want to ask for help because he wanted to prove to his men that he still had some authority and wasn't being completely used by Mr Fear.
"We use police airships." Nhamo said as he pointed at the Mupedzanhamo market. "This is the point where they fly the lowest so that they can bust several criminals that exist in that place. We hijack one at this point why some of you unscrew the transformers."
There were several murmurs before one of the goons suggested they steal the transformers from the manufacturers. Nhamo agreed and the men dispersed. Their plan required precision and faster executions. That was what worried Nhamo the most.
"Panashe you are going to be late for school." Ruvarashe said as she moved frantically around searching for them.
"Okay. I just need to figure out everything about these blueprints. I will be able to use my gear more efficiently."
"Whatever. Just go to school."
"What are you looking for?"
"My order for potatoes. The farmer said that there was a mix up at his office and I need the number on my card."
"Isn't it in your phone."
"Munashe didn't charge it and the man is waiting downstairs."
"Well sucks to be you."
"Excuse me."
Panashe left the apartment before Ruvarashe found the card because he knew it would take longer. The day would have progressed smoothly if it weren't for Allen who kept asking him about why he had moved. Panashe finally gave in and told Allen how he was a target for Nhamo before the police took him in.
Allen got agitated at the name of Nhamo. He was at the meeting that had happened last night and saw what Nhamo could do. He left Panashe and went straight to Mellisa's class. This time he dragged her out by the hand.
"You wanted your uncle to kill my friend."
"Dude let me go. Why are you getting all emotional now?"
"Because my friend was nearly killed. Because you are becoming more of a monster."
"Well for your own information Allen. Panashe and Munashe might be working together to revive the foundation and if they succeed we will be hunted for what we have done as digital witches. Say what you want about me but your friend is our enemy."
"Where is your proof, Mellisa?"
"Oh you want proof. Just ask him about how he managed to escape Nhamo. The man who beat our team single handedly yesterday."
Mellisa turned away and left Allen standing like a fool. His body trying to process how Panashe could've beaten Nhamo. Allen knew that he was better than Panashe at almost everything they did.
Panashe wasn't the one to pry into people's personal lives so when Allen returned with dismay on his face he didn't ask anything. After school they separated their ways as Allen went to Mellisa's apartment so that they could once again hunt the predator anomaly that had disrupted their peaceful life.
When he walked into the apartment everyone was already geared up and ready to leave.
"You guys were going to leave me behind?" Allen asked revealing hints of confusion in his expression.
"I thought you weren't coming." Mellisa replied as she loaded fusion cells into her staff.
"Well I am here now." Allen replied.
"You two are boring us. Just breakup if you want to or Allen you get dressed for the job or we will leave you behind." one of the members said as he wore his mask.
Within a few minutes Allen was dressed for the job and they left the apartment through the window. A member of the UAEC saw the team descend into the alley and he took several pictures. His job was to follow Mellisa around until the case of the kidnappings was solved. He was shocked at what he saw but pleased.
All he had to do was wait for their return and call in the team to arrest all of them. 'The captain was right to be suspicious after the encounter with the goons.' He said to himself as he left the edge of the rooftop he was at. He wanted to find a nice place to relax at before coming back.
Panashe went back to the diner and continued studying his blueprints and the gear he had. None of his newfound teammates came in that day as they all said they wanted to relax after their little haunted house mission. Munashe kept to himself as he contacted Mr Reed most of the time searching for leads to find Nhamo.
Everything was quiet in the diner after closing time when a loud bang resonated through the area. Panashe raced to the roof and what he saw wasn't something he even thought possible. Two police airships were gliding through the air as their rotors bled smoke tainting the night sky of Mbare. Munashe and Ruvarashe arrived on the rooftop minutes after Panashe but they also saw two airships crush into buildings and the explosions were deafening.
Munashe's phone started ringing as the trio watched in awe what had happened.
"Hello. Munashe here."
"This is the UAEC detective and we trust you are seeing what we are seeing right now. Nhamo's goons have managed to hijack a police airship and shot down our airship and two other police airships. We need you to track them down for us. We hope to see you where the airship descends."
The call left Munashe with feeling of purpose as he rushed downstairs. Panashe knew he couldn't go where the UAEC where so he stayed behind with Ruvarashe. His hopes were on Munashe and the UAEC to capture Nhamo and find Jess before it was too late. Ruvarashe was also worried about Munashe but her trust in his skills made her comfortable. Police sirens could be heard as they followed the direction of the rogue airship.
"Let's go inside Panashe. Wouldn't want an airship to crush on us." Ruvarashe said and walked to the stairs. Panashe wanted to leave the rooftop until he thought of something.
'Why would the men who have done everything so quietly suddenly make a big scene like this one.'
Nhamo was cursing one word after the other as he saw what was happening in the city. His plan had failed but that didn't stop his men from thinking. Someone approached him with keys to a truck and smiled.
"We can load upto six transformers on two trucks before anyone realises what's truly happening here. Let's go."
Nhamo nodded as the goons went ahead with the improvise and loaded the transformers.
Panashe waited on the rooftop hoping for Munashe to return soon but there was nothing. No sirens and no airships. He decided to go back inside and wait but he couldn't do that and slept all night.
Panashe woke up a joyful scream for Ruvarashe. She rushed to Panashe and told him that the hijackers had been caught. They both couldn't even contain their happiness as they waited for Munashe to return. Panashe was later forced to go to school because Munashe wouldn't come back until after the interrogation had ended. Panashe enjoyed his day at school that even the missing of Allen didn't bother him. His eyes were focused on Munashe and the information he had.
When he got back to the diner, he persuaded Ruvarashe to celebrate with him until Munashe had arrived.
Munashe arrived later at night and saw the happy faces he was about to shatter.
"So... " Panashe was about to speak when he interrupted.
"Okay, okay. Unfortunately you won't like this."
"What?"
"Nhamo and his anomalous friend have been brainwashing people into ....."
"Where is Jess?"
"I am sorry Panashe but none of the goons could provide the location of Nhamo. Also whilst we chased the goons Nhamo and other members stole six step up transformers for whatever they are building."
Panashe stormed out of the apartment and grabbed his mask and gear on the way out. Munashe and Ruvarashe just stared at each other before following him to the rooftop. When they got there Panashe was running jumping from rooftop to rooftop as he headed for the unused powerplant. "He will be back." Munashe said as walked back into the building but Ruvarashe was more concerned about the young male.
Panashe arrived at the powerplant and walked into the large deserted control rood and started crying. The only person he had close to him was gone and it was his fault. "Why am I the one who is messing up." he asked himself as he sat in one of the chairs that was in the room. His mind wandering on the happy memories he had created with Jess. And suddenly remembered how Takudzwa had blamed him for all this. Without Jess, he realized how he truly was alone. Munashe and Ruvarashe could easily forget him and his teammates haven't spoken to him for two days.
He left the chair and walked out of the power plant. His mind focused on the black market. Especially the digital witches. He remembered Ruvarashe saying that their who business also depended on information trading and keeping secrets. Also the digital witches were a bigger group than theirs and he had better chances with them than with Munashe.
