Please be a bit patient for the first volume i.e 69 chapters which might be a bit stale, the first 69 chapters are used to build the characters around Rei and himself.

Toujou Rei, a little boy obsessed with baseball, has always admired his father, Tensei. Wishing to follow in his father's footsteps, Rei dreams of becoming a professional baseball player. In turn, his son's starry-eyed admiration encourages Tensei to keep persevering despite issues, Unfortunately, Tensei dies while protecting Rei from a car accident, which leaves a mental scar on him making him unable to play his beloved baseball anymore, but after getting motivated more than ever, Rei works hard to carve his way in the baseball world by becoming one of the best baseball players as his dad wished.

The Diamond Field

As both Rei and Sora entered the house and made their way towards the living room, they noticed Shirogana inside. Shirogana turned towards both of them and said, "Go and get ready quickly if both of you want to catch the practice session." This made both of them rush towards their rooms and Shirogana chuckle.

Rei was the first to take a clean bath before allowing Sora to get in. He wore a simple shirt with some comfortable jeans to go by. After he was ready, he made his way towards the living room and noticed Narumi and Shirogana were having a chat and Sora was yet to come.

Noticing Rei enter the room, Narumi was the first to greet him, "Ah! Rei seems like you're ready to go. Come sit." Patting the seat next to her. Rei nodded as he went and sat beside her.

He turned towards her and asked, "Oba-san, are you not coming?"
