Discipline, weakness and spies? (4)

In the holy kingdom, barracks were the place where Lucifer ordered his subordinates to transport all the conscripted soldiers so that they can train them into demon army soldiers but a few months back an uprising occurred. The cause of this uprising was reported as "unsatisfaction of some of some high-class elves."

These elves forgot that they weren't in their homeland anymore and their previous positions held no importance inside the demon kingdom.

Currently, their worth inside the barracks was lower than the farmers and laborers who were conscripted alongside them but somehow the facts were hard to drill into their incompetent minds.

These incompetents were worthy of praise when they managed to convince a few other elves to join them but seeing how their numbers stayed stagnant after a few days it must have been a coincidence.

Just like every day the 2nd bell rang but no one inside the cabin seems to notice that the bell had rung earlier than usual. Even if they did notice it they discarded it as something unimportant.

The regular elves were incompetent but the leaders weren't bright either.

"The bell just rang." Said Arnon, a young blond elf with blue eyes. His appearance described him as the phrase 'a new mob boss'.

Anyone can see that he didn't have any experience leading but somehow managed to gather a few followers of his own.

He was also the highest classed Rogu elf inside the whole barracks with his family being close friends of the Elven Army general.

"It doesn't matter, does it?" answered Kinos, he was another blonde elf with green eyes but unlike Arnon, he was younger and looked more like a delinquent student.

He had a peculiar hairstyle where a braid would fall from his left ear and nobody understood why he did that?

(A/N: I have misspelled KINOS as Konis in many places. I did try to fix every one of it but I might have missed some so please be prepared for it.)

"Can you look outside?" Arnon ordered the third Rogu, his name was Cinn. Cinn had red hair and look like the quiet one. He was the most leader looking one from the bunch but he was also the weakest in terms of magical prowess.

"I can order a Lower breed to look outside if you'd like?" Cinn replied.

"Yeah, do that. At least that way they can be a little useful." Kinos mocked indicating his distaste for the lower class elves.

"You're right that they are useless but don't go saying that to their faces."

"What can those low lives do to us? If they don't listen to our orders then we can easily beat them to discipline."

"We can't do that," Cinn explained, "The reason why the Guards aren't doing anything because they think we can easily gain our number and if we do something rash and they leave, we can expect an attack on us any moment. They might be useless but we still need numbers to attract more people."

"Let them attack, I don't fear those demon servants. we can easily fight them off."

Cinn was offended by Kinos's remark, considering he was the only one inside the room who had a fair fight with the demons.

"I don't think you understand how strong demons can be. They might be stupid but they are extremely strong. We can defend against a few of them but if they decided to send waves after waves at us then we can easily die. I still don't know why haven't they attacked us yet, which is why we can't let our numbers to reduce."

"You think that I can't defeat a demon, do you Cinn?"

"I don't think 'you can't win', I know 'you can't win'."

They glared each other for a while when Arnon decided to interfere.

"Both of you stop arguing and Cinn, go outside and put those goons to some good use."

Cinn left while both he and Kinos glared at each other.

Cinn was never good at working with others and he never wanted to work these two either but he had no other choice. He wanted to leave the barracks and for that he needed allies.

Arnon might be inexperienced and Kinos might be a jerk but both of them were the strongest mages he knew inside the barracks.

Also, Cinn was a captain during the war between the demon kingdom and the holy kingdom and was captured during the war, unlike Arnon and Konis who were exiled to the holy kingdom. Luckily they had high elf blood which meant they had high magic power but now Cinn can clearly see why they were exiled.

If God allowed him to partner with someone else he would jump on it as soon as he can but no one inside the barracks possessed strong magic like the other two. He did found a Youdh elf who was strong but his level of magic was far beneath them so he rejected it.

He pulled the door of the leader's chamber and the door opened into the halls where he saw scrawny looking elves playing a game of bridge and platforms.

They diverted their attention to Cinn when he entered but after a glance ignored him and continued their game.

Cinn hated them and they hated Cinn back. He was a captain in the elven army and he would also behave as one which did not sit well with others and every time he saw these undisciplined goons his blood would boil.

"The bell just rang," he informed but no one bothered to listen to him, "you three." he pointed at the standing elves. "go outside and report what's happening."

The elves decided to ignore him and continued their game which made him irritated.

"I said go out and have a look around."

One of the playing elves groan and signaled the three elves to go out. They murmured some complaints but left. Cinn can tell that they were making fun of him.

The three elves reluctantly went outside while others continued their game. Cinn wanted to beat these low breeds into the pulp but he knew how important they were and decided against it.

"Tell those three to report back to my chamber when they return." He ordered the present elves.

"Hhnngg." the previous elf answered in a groan.

Cinn's face twisted and his expression turned foul.

"What was that?" Cinn glared at the elf.

The elf felt a murderous glare directed towards him which made him startle.

"Sorry," The elf apologized and acted like a coward which delighted Cinn. "I will tell them to visit your chamber once they return." The elf meekly answered.

Cinn turned back gloating on his status and he failed to see the elves mocking him behind his back. He then returned to the chambers where he was greeted by other two idiots.

"Did you find out what is happening out there?" Arnon asked when he saw Cinn enter.

"I send a few of them to find out exactly that."

...

....

"What is happening out there?" Arnon shouted when he heard a commotion from the halls. Cinn and Kinos sat next to him and were wondering the same thing.

After a while when the noise did not stop they decided to check on the elves.

The door opened and they saw that demon soldiers were capturing their subordinates. They tied the elves with ropes and then they tossed them into a pile.

It wasn't long when a demon charged towards them. They did not understand what happened but instinctively prepared their spells.

"Ice Coffin" Arnon cast his spell on the charging demon.

A blue light appeared below the demon and in a blink of an eye, the demon froze inside an icicle.

"Fireball," Konis shouted and a fireball flew from his hand and hit a demon who was tying an elf.

The smoke settled and every demon was looking at them.

Then they saw red-skinned devil who slowly heading towards them. They didn't notice him at first due to the commotion but now that the situation was a little calm they were able to examine their surrounding.

The devil stood 2 meters tall and had the physique of a UFC champion. The devil slowly paced towards them with a grin on his face.

His glares intimidated them into stepping back which led Cinn to panic.

He cast spells after spells at the devil which did nothing and only made him look scarier.

"Help me," Cinn shouted while continuously panic attacking the devil.

"Ice pike." ... "Flame twist." both Arnon and Kinos cast their spell at the same time.

Sharp spears of Ice emerged from the ground and attacked the devil, But it broke as soon as it hit his skin.

Flames emerged around the devil that he softly patted off from his body.

Which made him look more menacing while the elves looked insignificant.

In their desperation, they cast spells after spells but none seem to have any effect on him.

When the devil got closer to them he raised his hand and grabbed Arnon by his head. The grip grew tighter and cause Arnon a lot of pain. Arnon punched and scratched the devil's arm but the devil did not waver and instead, his grip only grew stronger.

"AAhhh...! Stop! you will break my skull." Arnon screamed.

Cinn and Konis silently stared at him with blank expressions on their faces and they instinctively stepped back.

With a jolt of his hand, the devil threw Arnon who flew past the guards, broke the walls, and landed outside the cabin.

"Gather him." The devil ordered the soldiers.

On his command, four soldiers went outside with a rope and tied the unconscious Arnon.

"Are you willing to come silently or do you want to struggle like that insect?"

The devil pointed at Arnon and asked Cinn and Konis, who was now sitting on the ground trying to crawl backward.

"We'll come quietly. Please don't hurt us." Both begged with their heads down.

Lucifer saw Bollock and the soldiers coming towards the square with a group of captured elves. Judging from the injuries and bruises on the elves he concluded that they were subjected to "minor violence."

The elves had their hands tied and they walked with their heads down.

Lucifer was quite impressed to see that even after being subjected to "minor violence" they were fully capable of walking.

'Bollock do know how to control.' He thought to himself.

The guards tugged the ropes tied around their hands indicating them to stop.

On Bollocks signal the soldiers kicked behind their knees which forced them to kneel. Then the soldiers forced their heads until their faces touched the ground.

The elves whose heads were now kissing the ground heard a footstep passing near them. It felt like the owner of the footsteps was examining them but the hand behind their head made it impossible for them to confirm.

Lucifer signaled the soldiers to raise their heads and the soldiers pulled their hairs which made it compulsory for the captured elves to look upwards.

"So?" Lucifer said while dragging a sword behind him. "I hear that you are unhappy with the way I conduct things." He continued while lowering himself so that his eye level match the elves.

The elves panted heavily and droplets of sweats appeared around their forehead. The sweats dripped down their cheek to their chins and drop so sweat fell on the ground.

Lucifer stood up again and gave a nod to the soldiers at which they forcefully lashed their head before releasing them.

"Do you know how much disturbance you have caused?" Lucifer shouted while pointing his swords towards the elves. "List out their crimes." He pointed to a soldier.

On his command, the soldier unrolled a scroll and started reading from it.

"Refusing the orders of a commander.

Attacking a night guard.

Avoiding the assembly.

Promoting Non-nationalistic propaganda.

threatening a senior officer.

Stealing from the army rations.

Violence towards other recruits.

Capturing a military cabin for personal use.

Performing Non-nationalistic propaganda in the said military cabin.

Spreading false rumors about national policy.

....

...."

The list went on and on until Lucifer stopped the soldier.

"Did you hear him?" He grabbed an elf by his face and pointed towards the guard holding the scroll.

"You have broken more than 20 rules. Now tell me what should I do with you all." He threatened the elves.

"Execute." A cheer came from the conscripts.

"That is a very good idea." He said with a menacing smile. "What do you think Bollock should we execute them or do they still have some use?"

"I don't think that their absence will have any negative effect on the army. So, executing them would be our best choice."

"Well spoken." He said while running his fingers through the blade of the sword.

Fear, it's a primal instinct that warns you to survive and every present elf felt it.

Despair filled their heart which led a few of their minds to go blank while others started crying.

"Please, Lord please forgive me and give me another chance," They begged.

"I haven't done anything wrong Lord, I was forced to join them, my lord, they made me do it," Konis was the first to beg directly.

Arnon and Cinn glared at the pathetic man who just backstabbed them.

"What did you say just you bastard?" Arnon growled at him, "We forced you to join us. You were the one who wanted to raise an army and take over the barracks. You even already have the plan on how to divide the barracks after you conquer it."

"Don't criticize me, Arnon, it was both you and Cinn who wanted to create the army. I told you that it was risky but Cinn was fed up with how they treated him like a commoner."

"Yeah, Blame it on me you mother fucker, I wanted to recruit strong people but wasn't it you who said that we should recruit the low breeds so that we can easily control them after we take over."

"Did you just called us low breeds you redhead dick?" one of the common elves spoke.

"Yeah, I called you a low breed you Low breed."

"You mother fucking b..."

The elf jumped on to Cinn and Arnon jumped on Kinos. With their hands tied they were only humping each other with their weights aiming for the weak spots like leg joint.

When the argument got out of control Bollock went close to them and threw each of them three meters above the ground.

Each elf then landed with a painful crash and painful moans can be heard after the thump.

"Do not forget that you are in the presence of a King." He grabbed the collar of Kinos and shouted in his face. "Any more disrespect then I would not hesitate to remove your head from your bodies," Bollock said after releasing him with a forceful push.

"Sorry, My lord that you had to see all this."

"Don't apologize Bollock, it wasn't your fault." he then turned away from the elves and spoke, "If they want to fight then they can fight. Send them to the Cascyl mines if they survive three nights there then release them into the woods. It won't hurt to feed the beasts inside the forest once in a while."

"Yes, sir."

The soldiers gathered the injured elves and dragged them towards the gates.

"I hope everyone learned a lesson here today." He addressed the conscripts. "A nation is strong when a nation is together and anything that infects its growth should be dealt with. I hope no one else here is stupid enough to act as a pathogen."

The conscripts shivered on Lucifer's sudden change in tone.

"Now go and rest, there won't be any more training today. The training will be resume tomorrow and I hope there is none who wishes to take a day off."

"Yes, Sir."

"Go and make the nation proud."

It was the night a few hours after the sunset when a messenger came into the Commander's chamber.

"Lord Lucifer a messenger brought news from the holy castle." The captain announced.

Lucifer signaled him to hand it over.

Lucifer opens the letter and his eyes are widen in shock. He reads it a few times while others stare him in confusion.

"What happened?" Surge asks when Lucifer drops the letter on the table.

"Take a look at it yourself."

Lucifer points to the letter and the captain brings it to him. Surge and Bollock read the letter together and soon their face starts to rage up.

"My lord, allow me to gather an army. If you order us now we can bring you Rava's head before the sunrise."

"Lord let me go. I will make sure that there is no one soul left alive inside the holy castle."

Before Surge and Bollock can destroy the whole holy kingdom Lucifer clams them,

"Both of you gather your composure. We will head there tomorrow morning and see the matter with our own eyes."
