Haruhi went out.

Before leaving the house, I successfully placed a tracking device in Haruhi's shoes just in case something like this happened.

And it actually did.

Calm and collected as ever, I watched my phone as a small indicator of where they are are moving away from my current position.

I'm guessing they're gonna contact me and ask for ransom, but I have a better idea.

How about I knock on their door?

I sat down on a nearby bench waiting for the indicator to stop moving. More often than not, these kidnappers do their best to shake off pursuers. That being said, they'll probably transport Haruhi to their hideout in different vehicles and different routes. These people are meticulous and elaborate.

After about thirty minutes, the indicator finally stopped.

Location, Marine's docks. Marine, The city right beside us is famous for it's maritime industry. Needless to say, there's a ton of docks and storehouses in there for companies to use. Pretty loud too, but it usually diminishes before sunset as traffic lessens.

These people are pretty bold and cliche. Bold because they kidnapped Haruhi right before sunset and cliche because she's probably in the middle of a storehouse tied to a chair.

I can only guess, but being a hitman have put me in situations such as those. It's rare to be honest, because it's not as effective as movies like to portray they are.

Well, it's time to move. I put my phone back to my pocket and walked home. If I'm going to go to them toe to toe, I need weapons.

A trusty knife and a pistol would do. Nothing too big or attracts any unwanted attention.

I arrived at home and opened my closet where I have a secret compartment for my weapons. I grabbed my combat knife and a strap of throwing knives. I also grabbed my pistol together with its silencer and a couple of mags.

This should be enough.

I also wore a very thin but effective bulletproof vest under my clothes just in case a shoot out happens and they caught me off guard.

After making sure that everything I need is with me, I got out of the apartment and hailed a cab.

"Take me to the Agua Docks."

"Aight'o."

Agua Docks, the biggest dock in Marine. Also the most popular one in this country. To give a little context, I live in a country where the main focus is economy and lifestyle. People have great work-life balance and most of them middle class. I'm not saying poverty doesn't exist here, it definitely does but the government is doing something about it.

I know, sounds like a great country. But people forget that having a great economy means that the black market is also thriving. Especially when politicians are busy fighting among themselves. That's where the underground organizations and people like me work. Ordering us to kill their enemies or sabotage another organization, I've even framed someone just to destroy their reputation.

It looks nice on the outside, but rotten in the inside.

"Just at the gate would be fine."

The cab pulled over and I got out of the vehicle after paying.

I surveyed my surroundings, making sure nobody is tailing me or watching me. So far, so good.

The dock seemed abandoned from afar save from the last people packing their things up. These people don't even know the docks they're working at is a kidnapper's den.

Something's definitely not right though. Almost an hour has passed but I have received no call from them.

I took my phone out again to check the indicator and it showed that Haruhi is inside the farthest storehouse in Agua.

Again, another predictable move.

I slowly made my way, making sure I don't raise any suspicion. After a bit of sneaking here and there, I've finally reached my destination.

The place looks abandoned. No lights, no nothing. The door is slightly opened to the point that someone as thin as me can fit in.

Once inside, I slipped behind a nearby box and closed my eyes to heighten my other senses. I can hear drops of liquid and could also smell iron.

Crap! That's blood!

I took my knife out and used my smartphone's torch as flashlight to try and blind the kidnappers from their general direction before something else happens to Haruhi.

But what I found out was something I didn't expect at all.

Haruhi, in the middle of the room, holding nothing but a knife and looking up at the ceiling of the storehouse.

Her fair skin drenched in blood.

Not her blood though.

The people around her.

Four bodies were lying lifeless under her.

She's just standing there. Still.

I slowly approached her, knife still in hand.

"Haruhi?"

I asked in a very soft voice.

"Papa..."

She finally moved. She looked at me with tears flowing down her cheeks. She dropped her knife and collapsed on the floor. I sheathed my knife and rushed to her side to hug her.

"What happened here, Haruhi?"

She held my arm tightly,

"I finally remembered who I am, Papa."

She finally remembered?

She had amnesia?!
