Zain pulled out his phone and checked his messages. He had four from Jinhai.
'What the hell, Zain,' 'Where are you guys?' 'Did that bastard really try to divorce her?' 'How is she?' Zain shook his head. He pressed the call button. It ringed once before it picked up.
"How is she?" Jinhai's asked. Zain was feeling particularly angry so he opted for a more sarcastic tone.
"She's been better. She could really use a friend." Zain said.
"That's what you're there for." Jinhai replied. His voice wasn't as harsh as it usually was.
"Jinhai, I'm telling you this because I love you and I know how hard staying away from her has been for you," Zain said. He rarely lost his patience but he was definitely snapping now. He had to keep it together for Evelyn's sake but he was more than ready to rip Shawn limb from limb.
"She's going through with the divorce. He cheated on her. She needs her friend. So get your head out of your ass, Jinhai." Zain said.
"I helped you avoid her all of these years. I saw how upset it made her, but I did it because you're my brother. But I won't do it anymore. Be her friend or I swear Jinhai, I'm going to kick your ass." Zain's words were met with silence.
"Where is she?" Jinhai asked. Zain blew a breath out. His brother would normally have killed him for speaking to him the way he did.
"Oasis Hotel. Room 1010. She said she might be heading out at 6:00 tonight. But she didn't sound sure." Zain said.
"Thank you," Jinhai said.
"Oh and Zain, if you ever speak to me that way again," Jinhai threatened.
"Save it, love you too." Zain said, hanging up on his brother for the second time that night.

BACK INSIDE ROOM 1010
Evelyn leaned against the door after she closed it. She was finally alone. She sank down against the door until she hit the floor.
She pulled her knees against her and hugged them. She lowered her head to her arms. The sobs taking her once again.
She thought about how Shawn had sprung this on her. She was supposed to be celebrating her five year anniversary with him. Not only did he want a divorce, but he already had a mistress. She was very pretty.
Evelyn remembered when he used to tell her how beautiful she was when they first started dating. When they got married he told her he could never look at another woman because he had the world's most beautiful woman in his arms. If he couldn't look at them, he would never love another woman, either.
Evelyn sobbed harder thinking about the promises he broke.
The prenup was a condition that her father and grandparents had wanted put in place to protect her.
It was basically that they would split all the assets they obtained while they were married but couldn't go after each other's family organization. The exception was that if either of them chose to divorce the other and committed infidelity before five years. At the time they had both laughed at the idea that they would ever be divorced.
Thinking back to it now it was wishful thinking. She didn't know how long had passed with her crying on the floor. When she was calmer she finally got up off the floor.
First she went to grab her phone from her bag. Seeing that the battery was low she reached for the charger that was already plugged into the outlet. Once she plugged it in she took a look at her messages.
She had one message from Driver Chung confirming that he would be there at 6:00 that night.
She had several emails for work but chose to ignore them seeing as she no longer worked for Cheng Global Corporation.
After setting her phone down, Evelyn grabbed her bag of toiletries before walking up the stairs. The upstairs was every bit as beautiful as downstairs. The bed was king-sized with a mahogany bed frame. There was a table with a mirror on one side and the other a small desk. In front of the bed was a large entertainment center.
There was a mini fridge she had no doubt was stocked as well a closet. She opened the closet and saw a safe inside. Perfect she thought.
She then went into the adjourning bathroom. It was much grander than the one downstairs.
There was a Jacuzzi big enough for three people in the corner on her left when she walked in. In front of that was a walk in shower. It was big and spacious with glass walls. On the right there was a double vanity with bowl sinks.
Evelyn walked to the double vanity and set her bag down. She set various things in the appropriate places in the bathroom. She then went to take a quick shower to try to cleanse her self from the day.
When she finished with her shower she wrapped herself in a large white towel. She also wrapped her hair in one as well. She then slipped on the fluffy hotel slippers and went to go grab her phone.
She then went to go lay down on the bed. The heat from the shower making her feel sleepy.
Before she fell asleep her phone rang. She took a peek at her phone. The name on her phone showed Phoenix, (Xifeng) Xu.
She was one of her childhood friends. Her and Evelyn were the same age and went to school together.
Phoenix was feisty and outgoing. She didn't what care people thought, although people naturally flocked to her.
Evelyn decided not to pick up but opted to text instead.
