Chapter 3: Tyrant Ogre Bigruk!

After he made sure that his mother was safe, Sam turned his attention towards the portal, which was just in front of him.

"Luna, is it safe to enter this portal? Are there any side effects? And what do I expect to see on the other side?"

Sam asked Luna. Although he is brave, that doesn't mean that he will just charge ahead without making sure of his safety. How will he be able to save others if he isn't even safe?

(Yes Sam. It is safe to enter the portal and there are no side effects when passing through it. But I have no idea what awaits at the other side. I have several guesses but the most probable one is that the other side should be the habitat of these monsters.)

"Okay then."

Sam steps towards the portal as his body disappears. Moments after he had just entered, the portal suddenly turned red.

Inside the portal, Sam was shocked to see a dense forest with huge trees that reaches the height of about hundreds of meters. The vines on the trees had already overgrown and are now growing on the ground forming a platform made of vines.

Sam carefully took a step as he scans his surrounding, he immediately detected multiple presence approaching him. From the familiar presence he felt, he can guess that what is approaching him.

Ogres.

And not a minute later, the first ogre appeared in his vision. As it saw Sam, the ogre instantly swung its wooden club towards him with a grunt.

*swoop

Sam did not wait for the ogre's attack to reach him as he moved at lightning speed and pierced its head with his sword.

*swish

As soon as his sword pierced the first ogres head, it was soon followed by the second, third and so on.

Sam did not forget to take advantage of this strange environment as he makes use of his [World Steps] so that he could practice it and hopefully level it up.

[World Steps: Be able to move in any terrain, burst movement whether short or long distances. Not that different from teleportation but can only be used in one world and cannot achieve world travel. ]

(AN: Can't really make up of a good description, please help me improve it but make sure that it stays the same as my current one or has the same idea. Thanks.)

It did not take him long before he massacred all the low-level ogres in the vicinity and it was time to move forward.

Sam had no idea what he was doing but he felt like he just needs to kill all the monsters inside the portal and it will close. Or that what happens to the portals in the game he played before.

He also can't help but think that the portals seemed like gates that connect to a dungeon. Although where he currently does not look like a dungeon, he just feels like this will be an exception.

When he arrived in another area, he started massacring once again. Poor ogres, they can't even touch him as he just goes around piercing their heads like it was some sort of game.

Sam lost count of the numbers of ogres he had killed but it seems like it is over a hundred now. His level also increased as he killed more and more ogres, sadly, as he levels up, the number of experience he needed to level up to the next level also increases.

He is now level 4 and was just 35% short before leveling up once again. But it seems like there are no ogres left, so he could only look at another area. Though he can only go straight since there is some sort of invisible barrier stopping him from going to other places.

Even with his insane amount of power, he could not even put a scratch to the barrier. The one who created those should be stronger than him by a lot, but Sam was sure that it will not take long before he reaches their level.

Sam just suddenly stopped walking out of the blue, staring in front of him was a giant creature that resembles an ogre. Standing at about 20 feet, a bulky body that screams muscles in every part, and a 4-meter club with spikes. Sam can see that this ogre is different from the other ogres he had just faced.

(Sam, be careful, that is a Rare Ogre called the Tyrant Ogre. They are similar to what is a village chief to humans but they are much more than a leader. They are five times more powerful than the normal ogres and they are extremely violent and greedy.)

"Thank you for the heads up Luna. I'll be sure to be careful."

Sam said. Even though he can still overpower this ogre with his current power, which is just 5% of his real power. He could not afford to be careless and be killed just because of it.

Sam grinned as he stared at the red-eyed ogre who was also staring at him. He was suddenly startled when he heard it talked.

"Human, strong. But Bigruk is bigger! Bigruk is stronger!"

It roared as it pounded its chest with its freehand. The loud and reverberating sound of it pounding its chest was very loud that it could even wake up a dead.

"Ohooo…I never thought that you guys could speak, or is it just you?"

Sam pondered. But the other ogres he encountered was not capable of speech, different from this one in front of him.

(Sam, as it is of a higher level, the Tyrant Ogre is capable of speech. It also possesses the intelligence of a child, which is the reason why it can understand and very moody.)

'Moody?'

Sam thought. But Bigruk was getting impatient as it yelled towards him.

"Bigruk is bored! Bigruk will kill you now tiny human."

As soon as it finished speaking, it raised its club in an attempt to smash Sam. But with its slow movement, Sam just walked towards the side to dodge it.

*BOOOOOoooooooOOOOM

Its club smash to the ground creating a massive creator. With that kind of power, just a slight graze will send a normal human flying instantly dying.

But Sam was no ordinary human, he was not even human anymore. He did not even flinch when that attack had just slightly smash passed him. Instead, he sent a strong kick to the ground as his body then flew to that air. When the body was just above the Tyrant Ogre, he kicked the air to rapidly descend, with his sword pointing towards the Tyrant Ogre's head.

*spurtttt

The sword easily pierced the ogres head but it did not end just there, Sam continued to pierce through the Tyrant Ogre's body until he reached the end, landing on the ground.

[Ding! You have killed a Rare Tyrant Ogre! You gained 1500 experience points]

[Rare Tyrant Ogre Corpse detected, do you want to extract the Magic Core?]

"Yes"

[Rare Mana Core extracted]

He then started walking away after he confirmed that he had extracted the magic core from it. When he was a few meters away from the Tyrant Ogre, which was still standing, it suddenly collapses on the ground face first.

A portal then appeared in front of him which he passed through after he had confirmed with Luna that everything is done.
