Encampment

Jason's body trembled in fear as he watched the large shadowy figure emerge from behind the overturned wagon. It was too dark outside for Jason to notice but the light from the campfire slowly light up the figure of the giant monster.

Jason already had an inkling on what it was, its legs were greens and muscular unlike the scrawny limbs of the goblins next to it. It wore a neckless with various bones and trinkets on it. It stood more than 6 feet tall and gave off a large roar and finally stepped into the light of the fire.

The monster stood in front of Jason and the pack, no it towered over them its eyes gave off a sickly yellow glow, its tusks were protruding out of its mouth and it sneered in a condescending way.

[goblin leader level 60]

From behind the goblin leader, more goblins approached instead of the weak small fry like before this time they were holding weapons and had pieces of armor covering parts of their bodies.

[goblin warrior level 40]

The good news was that they were only 10 goblin warriors the bad news was that there were 10 goblins warriors and a level 60 leader. Yeah, the wolves stood a chance. Jason as a tiny level 23 did not have the slightest chance if the leader aimed for him.

The goblin warriors fanned out in front of the leader with their short swords facing the wolves who had in turn surrounded the entire group of goblins. If the wolves were facing against any other Jason would be fine confident but Jason wasn't sure how a monster 20 levels higher then the average wolf would fight against them.

Jason had been playing WOW for a bit over a week by now and with nobody, except for Jason and the twins, and maybe a few top tier players nobody knew anything about the outside world. In this case, Jason didn't know how this fight would end as he hadn't seen how levels affected monsters in battle.

Jason had fought higher level monsters before and he just needed to use tactics or skill to beat them. The wolves seemed intelligent enough to do something like that.

The wolves who had been standing around observing the goblins started to move. The wolves did outnumber the goblins but Jason didn't think they would win just because of that.

Jason was about to charge at the forefront but realized that that was stupid. So he hanged around in the back wondering what he could do.

The fight between the goblins warriors and wolves was intense they were around the same level and since Jason had no other way to figure out how strong a monster was he used the levels as a basis for power.

They were evenly matched sometimes a wolf would get in a lucky bite or a goblin would hit a wolf in the right spot. Jason saw one of the wolves lying on the ground bleeding profusely.

He suddenly realized that he could increase their favorability in the battle and rushed to the injured wolf's side. His skill basic survival luckily included a bit about first aid. He did his best to treat the wound and bandage the wound with the little amount of supplies he was given by Charlie. Jason thanked Charlie in his heart for leaving some of the supplies at his small drawer in the barracks. Those supplies included food a water flask and most importantly some bandages and two health potions.

Jason carefully wrapped the wolf's wound and sprinkled some of the potion into it. The health potions wouldn't work instantaneously and would take some time to take effect, but they were much better than anything else he had. After making sure that he couldn't do anything else for the wolf, Boops confined that the wolf should be fine. But Jason found a notification that was really surprising to him.

[+1 gratitude (grey wolf)]

Yeah, he actually got a point from helping the wolf. He definitely needed to investigate the cause of the point but now was not the time.

Jason ran off to look for more wolves to farm gratitude fr... er help and heal.

Jason recovered two more wolves and then realized that he was doing everything the wrong way. He realized a way to farm gratuide from the wolves and EXP points at the same time.

Jason saw out of the corner of his eye being pushed back from a goblins relentless assault. The wolf had already suffered from a wound on one of its limbs and wasn't as nimble as before it tripped and fell on the ground. The goblin warrior cackled and drew closer intending to end the wolf's life. The goblins raised its short hideous arm with the short sword and swung down.

The wolf closed its eyes hoped that the goddess Lupa would welcome him. But one thing stopped the sword before it ended the wolf's life. It was Jason's sword that was wedged in the ground between the wolf and the goblin. The short sword clashed on Jason's sword and was deflected before it fell on the fallen wolf.

Jason made quick eye contact with the wolf to make sure that he would get his point which he did.

[+2 gratitude (grey wolf)]

He then placed himself in front of the wolf and slashed at the goblin. The goblin was a much higher level than him but with the stats, he got from the training center he thought he could hold off for a bit.

Every time the goblins swung its weapon Jason parried each time he parried he could feel the vibrations in his body from the swing. Thankfully Jason's agility speed was faster than the other goblins so he could react quickly to the goblins strikes. It was kinda depressing to Jason that this goblins strike was already making his arms tremble. To be honest his precious ego was hurt and he promised that when he got back to the center he would train even harder on his strength than before.

With Jason agility, he was able to mount a counter-attack whenever the goblin was recovering from a strike. It really didn't do too much, it only made a few cuts but he had annoyed the goblin enough that it wasn't paying attention to the wolf. Jason was happy about that, if he had lost the wolf that he was getting points from he would have thrown a fit.

So what did Jason do with an angry goblin out for his blood? he ran of course, and the goblin followed, with his much faster agility stat though Jason easily outran the goblin, he then realized his mistake and worried that the goblin would return to the injured wolf if he went too far, so he ran back to the goblin who had just about given up.

A few stabs later and the goblin was right behind him in the chase. Jason was more or less jogging in order to let the much slower goblin chase after him. He spotted another wolf in the same situation as before.

Jason didn't have time for the long explanation, injured limb, wolf trips, goblin laughs, and swings sword. Except this time Jason stabbed the goblin in the back, and the goblin missed the wolf as any creature would if they got stabbed in the freaking back.

So now Jason had 2 angry goblins chasing him and screeching out for his blood. Jason took those two goblins on a trip around the entire mini battlefield. Most of the wolves were doing fine against their opponent, Jason even saw one of the wolves literally moving around in circles around the goblin while the goblin tried to follow the wolf and collapsed in dizziness. Since the wolves had a numbers advantage when a wolf got injured backup would usually come. The two wolves that he had saved were just not as lucky.

As Jason took another tour around the camp he noticed that it was no longer 2 wolves against 1 goblin but instead 1v1s which confused Jason, why would they leave? He ran around helping the wolves who sometimes screwed up when fighting.

Jason felt like Santa Claus at that moment, rewarding the good wolves and punishing the bad kids, except instead of coal he stabbed them in the back or attempts to cut their heads off, for some reason it only worked once. He even had his own train of "followers" that were diligently chasing after him.

Jason was looking around for the other wolves when one of the ones he was looking for flew out of the center of the camp and fell on a large amount of Jason's "followers"

Jason turned toward the inside of the camp, where the wolf had just flown out off (he made sure his "followers" wouldn't attack the wolf)

A large roar was heard and another wolf flew out of the camp and into Jason's angry followers.

It suddenly hit Jason

"AH! The leader I totally forgot"

For some reason, Jason could hear Boops crying out in pain at his revalation
