Training

Jason collapsed onto one of the bleachers. His body was full of bruises and cuts. Jason watched as Lyle walked away from the gym with a satisfied expression covering Lyle's face.

Jason could barely move. He felt like somebody had placed a few hundred pounds on him and then told him to swim in a pool. His body wasn't responding to Jason's commands to move. So he just sat there, waiting for the time when he could actually stand on his own.

Jason had nothing else to do except to watch the rest of the trainees do their own things. The trainees came in different sizes and shapes but Jason noticed that each barrack had a very distinct type of trait. Those with red bandanas were usually the most yoked and were mostly in the weights section of the gym. The majority of the trainees in the gym were the red barrack members with their red bandanas tied firmly on their arms or head. The Blue barrack members were thin and scrawny like Jason. Or at least that was what they looked like from the outside.

Jason watched as one of the blue barrack members took off his shirt after it was cut up by one of the training swords. The moment Jason saw it, he started to feel self-conscious about his own body. It was so muscular, but also compact. The six-pack was evident and muscles covering his body looked like they were honed for years. They almost shone in Jason's eyes and he needed to avert his eyes before he felt even more depressed looking at them.

Jason turned his attention to the green barrack members. There was only two of them, they were probably doing the agility course instead. The two green members were dueling each other. Jason had high agility and have even kept up with the wolf pack when they were on a hunt. So he was fairly confident in his ability.

That was at least until he watched them fight. They stood facing each other, and Jason could see one of them nodded his head. Then they both disappeared and one of them collapsed. Yeah, Jason couldn't see anything except for the very beginning of the fight. Jason had no words to describe how small he felt currently. Perhaps it was helpful for him in the long run since he got cocky after doing all of the stuff that he did. But this was just too much, The more Jason looked around the more crazy stuff people around him were doing. Jason saw one of the red barrack members take an enormous weight that was at least 2000. It was hooked up some chains that were like a safety gear for it.

The red member lifted it with one hand and spun it around like a baton. He threw it around like it was a simple stick. the red member even had a conversation with one of his fellow team members while he spun the weight around like nothing.

To say the least, Jason was intimidated and scared looking at them. He knew they had the reputation of being the strongest knighthood in the kingdom but damn, that was crazy. What was even crazier was the fact that Jason was even allowed into this place. Somehow he had just caught a thief and then the lady looked at him in the eye brought him to her house and got the job. Just like that, he got a job that Jason imagined thousands, maybe millions of people would have wanted.

Jason gave off a small laugh, whatever the reason was he was sure he would eventually find out. Besides most of the guys here that he had met were pretty cool. Different from what he assumed the strongest knighthood trainees would act.

Jason had thought that it was going to be a place full of bratty proud people but instead it was down to earth kind and nice people that filled the place. It was like they were handpicked by somebody that could tell what personalities and characteristics they had just by looking at them.

Jason looked up, the trainees were all leaving to go the cafeteria it seems that breakfast was starting. Jason looked down at his legs. He instantly knew that he was not going to be able to make it in time. Heck, his legs were shaking when he applied the smallest pressure on them. Jason started to think about logging off the get some breakfast when some strong hands picked him up effortlessly from behind Jason.

Jason freaked out, (internally, he still couldn't move) he managed to turn his head after a few seconds, there stood the dude who lifted like 2000 pounds with one hand. He was smiling at Jason with a warm smile

"broke your limit eh"

Jason assumed that breaking your limit meant being pushed to the brink so he replied

"yeah, something around those lines"

"haha well done, let me help you get to the cafeteria"

And saying that the red barrack member put Jason on his back like he was a sack of potatoes and walked to the cafeteria.

Jason had no right to complain and he understood the red barrack members' good intentions, but he was literally hanging upside down, on his back.

Thankfully the red barrack member asked him what his group was and plopped him next to his teammates. His teammates thanked the red member for Jason and help Jason get his food.

Jason looked at his breakfast of eggs bacon and bread. It looked so good to him currently, after eating only rabbit meat and nutritional bars it was like somebody gave him water in a dry desert, his mouth couldn't stop salivating and his stomach was growly constantly.

One of the barrack members stood up and gave everyone permission to eat and everyone started to dig in. Jason's arms had become revived after seeing the food, so Jason dug in with an expression of pure bliss.

Speaking of pure bliss Jason got reminded of the wolves. He felt guilty that they didn't get to eat this delicious food. He asked Charlie who was sitting next to him

"hey, Charlie,"

"Yeah, what's up Arch?"

"I want to tell the platoon about the wolves when's a good time?"

Charlie grinned and stood up on his chair. The entire cafeteria went silent and Charlie shouted

"Hey listen up, one of my teammates had something important to tell you"

Charlie sat down and looked at Jason. Jason swore in his head and stood up.

Jason looked around and got intimidated. All of these people who were much stronger than him, who could probably fart in his direction and he would die, were looking at him and giving him their attention. It was like a few famous actors or world leaders were looking at you and only giving you their attention. It was unbelievably scary. Jason swallowed his saliva and looked around again. Boops was trying to give Jason encouragement but Jason could barely hear him.

Jason felt like minutes passed where he was just staring at the platoon but according to Boops it only lasted a few seconds. Jason snapped back to attention and started to talk. He had forgotten what he was going to talk about but Boops came in and saved the day by projecting bullet points for Jason in his eye.

"I Arch had managed to befriend a pack of wolves, there are 28 of them and they are all friendly I promise you. They might not understand human language but they can easily understand emotions and intentions. These wolves are born hunters and will go outside of the training center to hunt monsters mostly goblins."

Jason looked around again his nerves were getting to him again, but Boops kept on shouting at him to get his act together.

"I'm not sure if these wolves are willing to befriend you guys, but they will not hurt you unless you hurt them, They have a home and they have promised to defend it."

Jason stopped for a second he was trying to recollect his thoughts when one of the green barrack members shouted

"how do we differentiate them from other wild wolf packs?"

Jason stopped and thought about that for a moment

Boops also thought about it and gave Jason a solution

'we can tie a red scarf around their ankle or neck.'

Jason thanked Boops for the solution and repeated it to the green barrack member. The green barrack member nodded his head in satisfaction but then another green barrack member stood up

"are the wolves willing to hunt with the green barrack members?"

The green barrack started to rustle nervously and talked among themselves.

Jason gave off a small smile even though he was nervous

"It really depends on your relationship with the wolves. nothings stopping you or them, and ill give you a hint."

The entire green barrack seemed to lean in their ears focused on Jason

"they love food, meat especially."

Jason didn't see it, but after that, the leftover bacon disappeared mysteriously.
