Jason finally landed on the solid ground of the training field. Jason quickly checked his surroundings and felt the ground one more time to make sure that it wasn't an illusion. Jason quickly stood and was about to yell angrily at Mark for chucking him into the training field thing that his twin had put him in.
He looked around but he couldn't find Mark instead he was struck by how dark his surroundings were.
Jason quickly asked Boops
"how long was I in the illusionary field for?"
'a solid 20 hours'
"awwww frick me"
Jason looked around to see the moon and the stars shining down on him. The four large black pillars stood tall in the corners of the training field. From the red glow given off by the mansion in front of the field, Jason was able to look around a bit to see a figure hunkered down underneath one of the trees.
Jason had a slight inkling he knew who that person was and he walked up to the figure, cracking his knuckles.
He had fought against a literal legion of monsters, every time he barely won a battle, he was immediately chucked into a brand new biome and enemy to face. Eventually, Jason had lost to a giant man-eating shark the size of an island. But he had fought so many creatures that he had leveled up to 48. Which meant he was two levels away from doing a class upgrade. If Boops was correct he could get other classes besides the rose knight job, so he was really excited about it.
Jason quickly approached the slumbering Mark, who was currently curled up in a sleeping bag.
Jason raised his hand to yank him out of the sleeping bag, but before his hand got close, Mark opened his eyes and grinned at Jason
"you're finally out huh?"
"yeah no thanks to you Mark"
Mark sat up still in his sleeping bag and responded to Jason's sarcastic quip.
"haha I do what I can, so what did you in?"
Jason shivered as he recalled the memories of being swallowed by the giant man-eating Shark
"the monster shark thing"
"ahh that, the red barrack go done in by it once also. I must say, it was fricking hilarious seeing them yelling to each other stuff like "we can beat it from the inside and outside if we get swallowed by it" and then they jumped into the sharks mouth like they thought they could survive in it. Yeah, I think the red barrack learned their lesson from that."
Jason tired sat down next to Mark, and Mark handed Jason a thick cloak with the rose knight insignia, from his satchel that he had placed next to him under the tree trunk.
"here, its fricking cold amiright?"
Jason gratefully accepted the cloak which he placed over himself like a blanket. The cloak was a perfect blanket at it quickly warmed up Jason. He might not have been physically wet, but his entire body and core felt like they were freezing over until he got the cloak.
Mark and Jason both didn't say a word instead they just watched the night sky.
Jason had noticed that Mark wasn't one to say allot. He wasn't anti talking like Colby or Ardem, but he would only talk if he needed to or was addressed to. It was a bit like Jason, and he felt a slight affinity with Mark because of that even though he was one of the people he had interacted with the least.
The two countied to quietly watch the stars and the moon. Boops had told Jason that he was going to compile the "research" that he had just gotten from the first fight so Jason was really along with Mark.
An hour passed with neither person saying anything, there should have been some awkward atmosphere, but surprisingly there was none. To Jason, it felt like waking up with a friend on a camping trip and just quietly looking at the stars together. No words were needed no small talk, they just needed to enjoy the solitude and the presence of the other person.
Mark suddenly remembered something and turned to Jason with an old paper in his hands.
"so turns out every blue two member is giving you something and I'm not going to be left out, so yeah here is a map me and my bro found in a ruin when we were adventurers. I'm not sure what it leads to and I'm too lazy to find out. But you seem like the adventurous type of person. I'm sure you'll figure it out somehow, just share some of the stuff with me ya know"
Mark ended with a joking smile as he leaned back to his original position.
Jason smilled at Mark's obvious joke and took the map. He put it into his pocket, and subsequently into his inventory.
[you have acquired a map to a mysterious dungeon!]
Boops instantly jumped in to talk to Jason
'i just saw the notification, I'm going to look through and figure out where the map is leading us towards. It might take me a while, cause I don't have a completely detailed map of the continent, but ill figure it out eventually'
Jason nodded and Boops went back to his "research". While Jason was talking the sky had started to change a bit, from the cool night sky it transformed into a dark blue color. To Jason, it meant that dawn was coming, the sun was going to rise. Heck, Jason could already hear the birds chirping.
Mark smilled and crawled out of the sleeping back and somehow fit it into the pouch he had taken the cloak out of. He stood up and faced the morning sun that had just peeked its head out as if he was greeting it.
Mark turned back to Jason and gave of his signature grin with the morning sun rising behind him
"Alright Jason, wakey wakey, it's your last day and it's going to be pretty awesome if I do say so myself."
5 other figures walked out of the forest the exact moment Mark said that. They all happened to walk out of the forest right behind the mountains that the sun was peeking out off. One of the figures had a magical set of armor, with a cold blue sword with bright unknown metal as its hilt on his waist. His blond hair shinned in the sun as he stood towards Jason and Mark in calm steps.
The figure next to him was wearing a simple leather swordsman outfit. The black sword on his waist shone with its fiery red runes. His brown hair that had a tint of red mixed into it along with his devilish and mischievous grin made everyone around him worried about what he was thinking. He walked like a normal person, then his style would change erratically, he sound around to look at his comrades sometimes. Other times he would jump around like a kid.
Next was a figure that Jason could only describe as an ideal rouge, with green, black, and brown as his main colors. His equipment from the brief glimpse that Jason was given shone with a metallic light, all of his gear was streamlined and tight to his body from daggers to picks. Everything was stowed away, yet if the cloak steeled back onto his body, you would have never noticed it. His black hair waved in the wind and the black mask on his face only made him more mysterious and scary. He walked like he didn't have a presence on the ground, dirt and dust didn't rise no matter how many times he walked on the ground.
The figure that looked just like Mark was next to the rouge. His usual carefree face had turned into a serious one. His brown curly brown hair sat immovable on his head. His eyes were sharp and focused, he walked with a normal walk that had hidden strength in each and every step. He had simple adventures gear on, but his sword even when it was sheathed screamed deadly and everything from his eyes to his aura told you that he wasn't a simple adventurer.\
The walking tank next to him made Jason widen his eyes in surprise. Every part of his body was covered in shining armor. His helmet was like a ferocious lion. He stood a few heads taller than the rest of the group, and on his back was a large shield that was even larger than himself. His stepped were heavy leaving large footprints in the ground where ever he walked.
Charlie and the rest of the Blue two team stopped and looked at Jason and Mark. Mark immediately walked over to the other side, disappearing and using Shunpo to reach them.
Jason could hear Charlie shout to him from across the field, in his elegant and clear voice
"your last day begins now"
