Protection

The 1st form, a form that was part of the rose knight swordsmanship skill, it was made as to the single most offensive form in all of the rose knights forms. A form made for killing and ruthless offense.

It was taught in basic strikes and stances, but only in battle would a user truly understand the uses of the 1st form.

And Jason was learned bit by bit as he swung his sword with almost reckless attacks. His form was reminiscent of a berserker.

Jason had run around and through some piles of debris to reach the 5 men who were being slowly swarmed. He went to the back of the crowd of goblins who were busy screeching for the blood and bodies of the men in the middle of the crowd.

Jason wasted no time and quickly rushed towards the goblins with his sword raised. He chose the 1st form and quickly swung towards the first goblin that didn't even see him.

Jason didn't see it but a soft rose color glow ran up his sword, making his sword even sharper. He didn't notice anything except for the goblins ahead of him. After living with the wolves for a bit, he had a grudge with the goblins, especially with what happened to the wolves.

He skewered the nearest goblin next to him. And from the death cry of the goblin, the nearest ones turned around to look at Jason with beady eyes. They all snarled and grinned at the fact that a human had just decided to walk to them. They licked their lips and slowly approached the still Jason.

They hadn't eaten anything yet and they were feeling extremely hungry and besides the human had only just killed two of their brethren. What could a single human do?

The goblins snickered and closed in on the human drooling about the next meal that they would have. And then a growl was heard from above them.

The goblin didn't pay attention to it and that was his one and only mistake.

Jeffery and a few other young wolves stood on the rubble of a ruined building that was piled high enough that they were above the goblin's short heads.

The wolves didn't need a command, they didn't need anyone to motivate them, the moment they saw the goblins green skin and their familiar cackle, some of them had flashbacks. Some saw their parents other saw their loved ones and comrades fallen on the ground while the goblins danced in glee over their bodies.

A single emotion rippled through the entire group of wolves, rage, and without further ado, they all jumped down snarling with their bloodthirsty eyes.

The wolves didn't wast any time was the viciously jumped at the throats of the goblins and ribbed them out without hesitation. Some tackled the goblins and brought them to the ground. The wolves near the fallen goblins all simultaneous jumped and that goblin never stood up again.

Jason counted his attack. As he ducked underneath one of the goblins clubs and stabbed it in the stomach. He realized something about the 1st form.

The reason why he had stopped fighting suddenly after the goblins discovered him was because the rational part of his mind realized that it would be stupid to just blindly attack and completely ignore defense when fighting a large crowd of enemies.

But went the wolves dived in, it felt like everything he was worried about disappeared, and he could now freely fight without having a part of his brain screaming at him for abandoning defense. That was when he realized, the 1st form was an offensive form, but it was meant to be used with a partner covering for your defenses.

So in reality the 1st form was a form made on trust, trust that the person or wolf in this case fighting with you had your back.

And who could Jason trust more at this place then the hungry snako eating wolf currently next to him?

A goblin raised its wooden club and was about to swing it down on Jason's back. But a wolf jumped in the way bitting hard the goblins face, while another smaller one jumped for its ankles.

Jason could hear the goblin fall to the ground and the audible crunch afterward.

Jason could hear Boops's

'OHH DANGGGGG'

So he was pretty sure that Jeffery and his friend took care of his back plus Boops would alert him if somebody was actually about to hurt him.

Jason vaulted off a falling goblin and leaped into the air. To be honest, he was impressed at how high he jumped it was about 10 meters high, and he could see a good part of the village.

The eastern part of the village was on fire, Jason didn't know what was there but judging from the amount of smoke at that part it was a lost cause to try and save that part and sadly maybe even the survivors it would be extremely hard to find the survivors in that smoke.

Wait nevermind he had the map, okay that was his next destination apparently.

Jason was returned back to reality thanks to Boops screaming in his ear

"'GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE CLOUDS PRIVATE JASON OR ELSE IMA WAKE YOU UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH YOUR MOM YELLING YOUR FULL NAME'

Jason quickly looked down to see half of the goblins on the ground cold. The humans in the middle were pressed up to a wall and it seems the goblins wanted to at least get something out of this battle and were trying to quickly kill and make off with their bodies.

Jason with a stroke of what he would call genius pulled out a metal spike from his inventory with his left hand pulled back and threw in the general direction of where the goblin crowd was thickest at.

With some random stroke of luck, he managed to hit a goblin's head which skewered to the goblin's torso next to him. That was what Jason would call a two in one.

And he clenched his fist in celebration as the goblins near the skewers turned momentarily to look at where the projectile came from. They learned to not ignore things in the air quickly.

Jason started to fall so he gripped his sword handle with both hands and held it above his hands. As he fell he tensed his muscles and at 3 feet away he swung. His iron sword hit the ground, and Jason was proud to say that it created a miny shockwave that shook everyone in a 30-meter radius or the entire group of people fighting currently.

The wolves had almost perfect balance and humans could endure it. But looking at how disproportionate a goblins head and torso were compared to its legs would already tell you what would happen if you put them in a shacky environment.

Jason watched as a literal goblin domino chain appeared in front of his eyes.

His eyes glimmered as he saw a perfect chance and he ran through with the wolves taking out as many of the goblins as he could while running towards the villagers who were leaning against the wall in total exhaustion.

Jason nodded to two of the wolves who nodded back and lifted the human men with their teeth like nothing and tossed them onto their backs like they were feathers.

It looked like they were dangerously close to falling but with the wolves great balance and large size, Jason was sure they wouldn't fall.

The goblins started to get up after struggling for a bit, Jason and the wolves tried to take out as many wolves as they could but in the end, 4 goblins stood up.

Only four, now it was the goblin's turn to get surrounded.

Jason left the wolves to do what they wanted and started to run to the burning east area. The smell of burnt flesh and heavy smoke hit him as he crossed from the main village road and into the east side.

The smoke instantly went into his lungs making him cough, he lifted up his shirt and trodded through with Boops giving him calm instructions, on where the nearest fallen villager was.

Jason couldn't even see anything, and the smoke was so blinding that he could barely open them because of how badly they stung.

It was only with the help of Boops did he find a villager woman whose legs were trapped under fallen debris. She was already unconscious and Jason wouldn't have even though she was alive unless Boops confirmed it.

Jason dashed to the debris and started to lift it up. To be honest, he thought it would be much harder to lift, but it felt like he was lifting a bunch of pillows. It was just stone and wood colored pillows or something.

Jason dragged the unconscious woman and put her on his shoulder. He put strength into his legs and started sprinting harder then he had sprinted during hell week.

It was only when he was out of the smoke did a notification come into his head
