[welcome Arch]
Jason opened his eyes and looked around. He was currently lying down on a grassy hill. With trees at the edge of his vision silently waving and the bright blue sky above him. Small silhouettes of birds appeared in the sky as Jason tried to figure out where he was.
He pushed himself off the grassy hill and looked around.
"oh yeah," he said to himself "I was too lazy to find a proper place to sleep and hit the sack in a random hill in the rose knight training center"
Jason stretched his sore arms and stood up. Boops quickly brought up the map for him to look at and before long Jason was heading back towards the rose mansion.
As he was walking through the training center's forest. Jason realized that this was probably going to be the last time he was going to be able to walk around this place. The place that he had traveled and adventured through for around a month's time. The place he had to meet the wolves and had gotten to know the Blue 2 team.
Jason reached the ladder that lead to the agility course. He thought about the waterfall at the end of the course that he had wanted to check. He was sure there was something there. He stopped at the end of the ladder and thought about whether or not he should try and get whatever was in there.
Jason was about to reach his hand out to the ladder and begin to pull himself up. When he heard the chattering of people getting closer and closer to him. Jason quickly retreated back in the bushes in the forest out of habit and peeked out.
He saw a new group of young fresh rose knight trainees, excitement was visibly on their faces and they were hyper and excited at becoming a rose knight, just like the platoon before.
They all hastily took turned climbing up the ladder and even from the ground Jason could hear their loud yells of excitement seeing the entire roof of green trees waving to greet them as the bright blue sky shone down on them.
Jason smilled to himself, he had that same reaction a while ago. He was about to step out of the bushes he was hiding in. But another sound made him shrink back into the bushes.
Again Jason silently watched as a single mage walked towards the agility course ladder.
She was small and had a hood covering her face. She held a big wand that looked like a huge walking stick to Jason. She gave off a shy aura as she walked and the oversized cloak covered her features completely.
Jason instantly knew who that girl was. The girl who had "assisted" him in his first agility trial. If he remembered correctly she was known as the demon mage.
Jason internally saluted to the new rose knight recruits with Boops in his floating orb form attempting his best way to express condolences
"I hope giant monster gorilla isn't going to screw you guys over too badly," Jason said solemnly.
The "demon mage" as he passed within 20 meters of Jason suddenly turned around and looked in his direction. She raised her wand up slightly, her eyes that were covered by the hood became exposed to reveal a sky blue color glowing brightly.
Jason quickly stuck his hands in the air and promptly walked out of the bushes praying he didn't have to meet mister giant monster gorilla again.
The mage saw Jason's face as he emerged illuminated by the magic stone torches and let out a small gasp as she lowered her wand
"y-you t-the person who beat me, the first clearer"
Jason nodded
"Yeah that's me"
The mage cocked her head slightly in confusion
"w-why are you here?"
Jason gave a sad smile and looked up at the ladder which lead to the agility trial.
"Just reliving some old memories"
The mage silently nodded, she expected Jason to say something, but he didn't and instead just looked at the ladder. She panicked and gave a small bow to him and then turned around to climb up the ladder.
Jason noticed as she climbed up the ladder. That there was a beautiful rose inscribed onto her mage uniform. It wasn't the standard rose that all trainees had. It was a red rose that was surrounded by all four elements in a dark hazy color.
Jason was extremely surprised at seeing it because it meant only one thing.
"she too had finally graduated and had become a fully fledged mage of the rose household and that emblem she had on her back proved it."
A grin covered Jason's face as he said quietly
"I guess we will be seeing each other sooner or later huh"
And saying that Jason walked away from the ladder now setting his course to the place where the wolves lived.
Up at the top of the tree where the agility course platform was laid out. A small glowing ball of green light floated up from the ladder to reach the "demon mage" girl that had just finished summon the giant monster gorilla.
The glowing green ball settled on her shoulder and seemed to whisper a few words into her ear.
The mage gave a small giggle and turned around walking closer to the starting platform of the agility course. Heading towards the crushing of the new trainee's pride.
Jason walked through the forest and into a clearing. A single warehouse sat in the clearing. A large number of wolves sat around or in the house, some were lazily rolling around and others were lying on their backs as they stared happily towards the sky.
Once Jason stepped out of the clearing. All of them simultaneously stood up and sniffed their air once more to make sure.
They then all turned towards him and rushed to him.
"Boss!" they all cried out as they charged towards him
Jason opened his arms and instantly got tackled with the combined weight of a few dozen wolves.
He let himself get brought to the ground and tried to endure the large number of licks and cuddles that were given to him.
Jason did notice that a group of wolves sorta stood to the side. They were the members of the new group that had recently joined the pack and they looked slightly nervous when Jason entered.
Jason briefly wondered how he could get them more comfortable around him and then Boops gave Jason a small whisper
'give em food'
"oh yeah"
Jason looked at the new group of wolves with a new look in his eyes. It was slightly predatorial to the wolves and they got slightly intimidated at him. They all thought to themselves. "That must be why all the rest of them respect him so much"
"BOSS IS HERE"
Jeffery bounded out of the warehouse with the group of wolves that accompanied him on the final trial.
Jason smilled at seeing them and gave all of them the head pats they requested.
"It's been a while guys," he said, "how did the rose knights treat you?"
Jeffery quickly spoke up
"LOTSA FOOD, HOUSE PRETTY, PEOPLE NICE"
Boops summed up Jefferys review by whispering to Jason
'solid 8 outa 10"
Adawolf or the alpha wolf walked out of the house. The wolves all parted and opened a small path for the alpha wolf to pass through.
"Arch," he said in a deep voice "it has been a while"
"it has Adawolf, I see you got some new friends"
The alpha wolf nodded
"yes, their alpha wolf recently died to some goblins, we took then in"
Jason asked
"How many did you take in?"
"23"
Boops gave a low whistle at the number and Jason raised his eyebrows.
"well done," he said with a smile. "we will celebrate with a barbecue"
The alpha wolf looked up at Jason
"Really?" he asked as a small bit of drool fell down his face, the alpha wolf quickly caught it and wiped it off quickly.
"Yup," Jason said as he pulled out a grilling set and market bought meat.
Jeffery off to the side took in a big whiff and then said in a joyful tone while he jumped a few meters into the air out of pure joy
"WE GETTING SNAKOES!!!!!!"
The entire pack all yelled out
"SNAKOES" with Jeffery and then proceed to jump and walk around with Jeffery in their joyful dance.
Jason gave a small grin and started to light up the fire. The sun was still in the air, close to reaching the afternoon, but not yet.
As Jason placed the first piece of meat onto the grill. A notification came up
[your cooking skill level has increased!]
[your cooking skill is now level 5!]
Jason grinned at the long-awaited notification as Boops shouted out a loud
'finally! that took forever"
And so Jason flipped another steak, as the wolves circled around him happily.
