Arjuna looked over the mission he was given by Sninkkaakac as he walked out of the room. The words that the gnome had said as he gave the mission to Arjuna was repeating in his mind
"discover who we really are"
Arjuna didn't know what that meant, but he was sure that he was going to try and figure it out, he looked at Alanis who was walking out of the room with him. She had her head down as she also thought about what the gnome meant.
"what a nightfall Archer really is" she muttered to herself
"ya got any ideas?" Arjuna hopefully asked
Alanis shook her head in response
"I have no clue, besides the fact that Nightfall Archers are known as the saviors of the elven kingdom and have been protecting it since the dawn of time, not much is known about them, they are a group shrouded in mystery."
The two of them walked out of the archery guild, confused. They didn't have a time limit on this mission, but it was a much more open-ended mission that could go almost anywhere.
Arjuna thought about it for a while as they walked down the cobblestone paved streets of the city of Dawn. A handsome black-haired rouge and a hooded figure walked down together attracting many people's eyes.
Both of them felt uncomfortable at the attention, Arjuna because he felt they were judging him and Alanis because she thought some people might not accept her race very well and they desired to go somewhere else.
So Arjuna turned to Alanis and said with a smile
"let's go somewhere cool, I want to show you the place where I spent a lot of my time"
Alanis agreed
"Alright, lead the way"
So the duo traveled through the city of dawn. Arjuna even though he was leading Alanis kept on getting sidetracked, from the occasional delicious-smelling food stall to the shop that had a pretty dagger displayed on the window sill.
Alanis shook her head as she dragged Arjuna away from another weapons shop that he had suddenly taken interest in.
She was about to give him a lecture, but Arjuna looked up and said
"We are here"
Alanis looked to see a large gate, a few feet in front of them, tall gates surrounded the entire block so that Alanis couldn't see what was inside.
But on the top of the gate, was a simple banner with 3 triangles and a line arranged as the sun peeking over the horizon. Underneath it was the words "Dawn alchemists"
Arjuna knocked on the gates, and an unlocking sound came from the door, he then pushed open the unlocked gates and walked in. Alanis shyly walked through the gates and came across a large courtyard.
It was simple green grass and white stones that acted as paths that lead to one of the 6 buildings.
In the middle was a square piece of paved stone, where a bunch of alchemy disciples sat carefully enchanting a potion that was on a transmutation table while an instructor carefully watched them.
Arjuna walked down a stone-paved path to the building in the very left corner.
As Alanis got closer she could see the stones that she walked on cracked and the grass overgrowing with weeds showing up here and there.
Arjuna extended his hand to the building.
"This is where I learn alchemy"
Alanis looked up to see an old building with a wooden roof and vines growing on its stone walls.
It was a big building, like an apartment with 4 floors. It didn't look too special compared to the pristine condition the other buildings were in.
Without further ado, Arjuna opened the door and was about to walk in, before he suddenly took a quick step out grabbed Alanis's hand, and ran around the corner of the building.
Alanis expressed her confusion while Arjuna held a finger up to his lips. Alanis quieted down and they both peeked out of the corner with one eye stacked on top of each other.
Alanis heard loud heavy footsteps approach the door that she and Arjuna were about to walk into, and then a huge fat person wearing the alchemist disciple uniform that barely covered his important bits walked out.
He was followed by a tall lanky person who had a sneaky and sinister smile on his face as he walked behind the fat person.
The fat person spoke in a condescending tone
"it would seem Arjuna hadn't gone to this building in almost a week, how stupid of him, to abandon the prestigious title of a dawn alchemist disciple"
The tall lanky person behind him said in a snicker
"he probably gave up after seeing his own ineptitude master Fei Pang"
Fei Pang raised his chubby hands up to his mouth and laughed
"yes, he must have, Cadmus has been so upset, huhuhuhuhuhu"
The lanky servant behind Fei Pang suddenly remembered something and he exclaimed
"Ah! young master! , master Draroth said he was going to give you another potion!"
Fei Pang looked at the servant and angrily hit him on the head
"then why didn't you tell me sooner!" he yelled, he then kicked the servant's back as he was kneeling trying to stop the blood that was flowing from his nose.
"take me there servant!" He yelled
The servant pushed himself off the ground and put on a smile
"yes master," he said and then escorted Fei Pang to the pristine building where Master Draroth resided.
Arjuna and Alanis watched as the two towards the other building. Alanis pulled out her elven bow and started to walk towards them furiously as her hand reached for an arrow in her quiver.
But Arjuna gripped his hands on her shoulders and pulled her back.
"it's fine," he said with a smile "Let's keep things quiet alright?"
Alanis blushed at the sudden physical contact and nodded
After Arjuna made sure she was fine he walked into the building with her.
He showed her the rooms as they passed by them in the hallway with a creaking wooden floor.
"This is where most of the disciple's sleep," he said as they looked into a large room with bunk beds, there were already a few disciples napping in the room, so the two of them tried their best to sneakily walk away.
"This is the alchemy room, its where I make my potions"
"potions?" Alanis asked?
Arjuna nodded and lifted his cloak slightly to reveal numerous bottled potions, from the regular health and mana potion to the weird green ones that she had no idea about.
"I haven't had a good time to use them" Arjuna admitted
"But I'm sure they will be useful someday," he said with a smile
Alanis took some damage from the smile and agreed with Arjuna while she tried to maintain her expression.
Arjuna was about to show her how to make a potion when he heard loud stomping noises in the hallway.
Cadmus Nycodus appeared slammed open the sliding door and said breathlessly
"Arjuna? is that, hah you?"
Arjuna gave a small confused wave
"Hello, master?"
Cadmus walked over to Arjuna and placed his hands on his shoulder
"Where were you? its been an entire week since I have last seen you, the adventures guild is in chaos wondering where their herbs went and that old fool at the archery guild wouldn't tell me anything"
Arjuna suddenly realized what Cadmus was so worried about, he had suddenly disappeared for a week to go and hunt the two leader ranked monsters.
Inadvertently he had brought chaos to the guilds that he had been a part of. It was almost like a daily routine to see Arjuna for some of them. And to see him gone for an entire week, well, that drew everyone into chaos.
Cadmus pulled 3 miniature pebbles out of the pouch that was hanging off of his waist. He tossed it at the floor and it enlarged to become a stone the size of a seat even with a small indent where a person would sit down.
"sit," he said as he sat down on the large rock.
Both Arjuna and Alanis looked at each other confused but they both sat down.
Alanis let out a small gasp as she sat down. The stone which she had expected to be hard was actually soft and bouncy like a mattress. It felt like the seat was formless and before long Alanis was basking in the comfortableness of the seat.
"So," Cadmus said while he took out a cup from his pouch that for some reason already had a drink in it, he took a big swig and said
"explain everything to me"
