A what?

Perseus leisurely cleaned off his sword as a goblin fell to the ground behind him. He looked around the lush forest he was in as he sat on the single fallen log in the midst of all of the trees.

40 or so goblins lay on the forest floor cold and unmoving, Perseus sat in the middle of them with an uncaring expression.

Perseus had already left a large trail of monster bodies behind in the forest floor only stopping to gather their drops and then move on to continue to massacre any monster that he laid eyes on.

He had leveled up drastically, his rate of leveling up had been hindered after he had taken in Jack and started up the guild. Essentially he had been babying the entire guild at the cost of his own personal strength and level.

Heck, even Arjuna who was spending more time inside the city was doing better than in terms of leveling speed.

Perseus as he cleaned his sword off had time to ask himself a few questions, but one of the biggest ones plagued his mind

Thankfully around this time Perseus had cooled down a bit and was back to his normal self or at least he didn't emanate a killing aura, he still had the intention to slaughter any bandit or monster he came across.

"How was the information network going to work?" That was a question he had taken up with Jason and Boops along with his brother who also proposed a few ideas.

An information network usually worked in many ways, but the most important aspect of them all was that they had informants. Information was only valuable when nobody else knew about it.

They needed spies, people who would report the information at a moment's notice. From anything as meager as a player finding a rare class to bigger things such as the movement of the NPC nobles which Perseus was learning was extremely influential in the Belusiain kingdom.

A notification came up to Perseus as he sat on the fallen log and mulled over his ideas.

[a mysterious person has defeated many reaper gang members in the name of (Jack) including a reaper executive]

[Jack's reputation has grown dramatically]

[(Ingram the feared) has been defeated at the hands of the mysterious person, rumors of Jack's might have spread to many people in the underworld of Herdita.]

[many reaper gang members are seeking to become Jack's underlings]

[Jack is in a position to be considered to take the mantle of the fallen exceutive]

Perseus let out a laugh, he had gone out to hunt while his master did things that he should have done already.

He even defeated an executive a being that Perseus wasn't even close to defeating at his current state.

Perseus let out another laugh, it had a hint of hopelessness as he saw his master reaching farther away from him. Soon Perseus feared that Jason would have no use for them. And possibly even cast them aside.

"No" Perseus said to himself as he shook his head "Jason would never do that"

Perseus was naturally a person who didn't trust people, even people like Jack, who he had literally been raised by for the past few months and weeks, he still had a bit of caution for.

But glee also filled Perseus, Jack had now become influential in the reapers gang. Though he was a bit young, it seems the reapers gang was one that only cared about strength, not age. After all their boss that Perseus only laid eyes on for a few seconds seemed to be only a bit older than Jack.

Perseus checked to see that Jack and his friends were currently in the city. They seemed to be in the slums and Perseus hoped that they were doing their jobs right.

Jack was very mature for his age, and when Perseus had given Jack instructions it seems he understood them to some extent, the kids that Jack grew up with also seemed to be smart enough to stand by his side even as Jack rose to power in the gang.

Well, Perseus hoped. The control freak side of Perseus wanted to just run over and take care of everything. Jack was still young and Persues was still worried that Jack couldn't handle the responsibility and power well.

But then he remembered that Jason was doing the same for him and Arjuna and he forced himself to stay silent.

Perseus's mind leaped to the prospect of new manpower in terms of the reaper gang members. He had a few ideas, but not too many. He didn't want to integrate them with the silver wings guild. Since he wanted to keep the image of it more pure and clean than the gang.

But Perseus also didn't want to keep them stagnant. Perhaps they could be the start of his information network. As Perseus thought about the idea it sounded better and better to him.

The underworld was a great place for information, it flowed naturally like a river down a mountain. And it would be great if the information network happened to have a presence such as an influential gang to hide behind.

And that was only in the underworld things, Perseus wanted normal players to also use the information network easily using information that could be useful to the everyday user such as information on their quests. Boops was currently compiling information from both the internet and from Arjuna, and his frequent trips to the library.

Boops did grumble whenever he had to compile but it seems he got used to it, as he finished compiling them at top speed.

Information on many things could be found in the information Jason, Arjuna, and Perseus had found. Though it was mostly shallow knowledge things such as the history of kingdoms or even some small legends interesting things could be found in the sea of information.

Even some books about skills were stored that could be useful to any player.

Perseus nodded to himself, the idea of the information network was slowly solidifying in his head. The gang members as the base, giving only little tidbits of possibly useful information, yet also the manpower that Perseus could move around when needed not just for information gathering purposes but also for other things like if he needed to finish a deal or to infiltrate a city of some sorts.

More and more thoughts of how Perseus would use the gang members of the reapers flowed into his mind as Perseus let out an evil grin. The silver wings guild was already very rich with the use of the guild members happily giving their proceeds to the guild and Perseus wanted to start moving the money around.

He had the negotiation skill and he felt like he needed to put it into use. Or else he would get rolled over like at the merchants guild.

Perseus slightly shivered as he thought about that time he actually got less profit than what he wanted.

"Soon," he said to himself "ill travel inland and make a ton of money selling stuff"

Perseus started to regain hope as more ideas seemed to open and direct the path that he would be taking in the course of the future.

He knew he would make enemies along the way, plenty of them both his and his masters. He knew that he was currently very weak, his master if they were to duel could easily blow him out of the water with a single kick.

Players were slowly reaching the amount needed to create an actual guild. Huge forces were at play sending swarms of players under their banner. Player went after player in a bit to become the strongest in what was already being named the second world of humanity.

Corporations invested in experts and experts rose on top of the bodies of their comrades ready to fight for power. People hungry for fame took to the game dreaming of finding the next hidden class or a legendary weapon.

But Perseus knew the truth, there could only be one person, one group at the top who had all the fame, all the power, who would become the ruler of these lands and Perseus was going to make sure it was his master.

Even if Perseus had to become the evil one.

So with a light laugh, Perseus jumped up from the log, stopping to pick up a curious object that was in the very center of the horde of dead goblins.

It was a metallic object about the size of Perseus's fist, and it gave off a curious smell. Purple pipes filled with some sort of fluid pulsed every few seconds.

If Jason saw the object he would give off a surprised yell

[goblin monster bait]

[an object that attracts goblins to its location]

Perseus grabbed the bait and placed it in his inventory. He walked off sword resting on his shoulder, ready for anything that would come his way.
