What?

The brunette woman leaned back against the bench with a small sigh.

"He did say that he would say any potential nightfall Archers to me, but a human? what is that idiot thinking?"

Arjuna stared off into the empty space in the room tired from having to talk so much and for so long. He had explained everything and answered everything, and yet this brunette woman was still holding him captive in this room for more information. He just wanted to go back and make more potions.

But as Arjuna looked at the brunette woman a bit closer he had to appreciate how she looked.

Her wavy brunette hair softly fell on her shoulders. Her blue eyes glimmered with an almost mischievous look and the glint of a small silver earing could be seen. Her long eyelashes fluttered randomly as she looked at Arjuna with a curious expression as she brushed a small strand of her brown hair back with her smooth and elegant hand.

Her black dress clung was a light one with long sleaved an almost see through patterned sleave.

Arjuna couldn't help but just mutter the words

"who are you?"

The brunette haired woman let out a small humph and crossed her arms

"didn't Sninkkaakac tell you? im one of his very old comrades, i've saved his life many times in fact"

Arjuna slowly shook his head.

The brunette woman let out an angry noise gripping her fist as her eye twitched.

"He really didn't tell you?" she said in a low growl. The wind started to swirl around her in a furious gust of wind as her brunette hair lifted up and her eyes lit up in an eerie green glow.

Arjuna slowly raised his hands up as tried to placate the woman in frount of him. He really didn't know what to say though Sninkkaakac had just briefly mentioned that he had a comrade in the city of twilight.

The brunette woman continued to angrily mutter

"I've even taken care of him since he was a tennager, I backed him up when he went to the council of elves, I even went to break him out of the bloody magic tower and the abandoned labyrinth, and WHAT DOES HE DO IN RETURN, NOT EVEN MENTION MY NAME TO HIS PUPIL, I SAVED HIS USELESS LIFE"

Arjuna slightly cringed pursuing his lips and looking for any exits as the brunette woman stood up from her bench shouting out the last part. But then a part of her complaining caught Arjuna's attention. He couldn't help but ask it, he was just way too curious.

"Sorry, but did you say that you took care of Sninkkaakac while he was a teenager? He's said that he's in his old for gnome age which is much more than a hundred years old. How old are you?"

The brunette woman turned to Arjuna her eyes still glowing green, she titled her head and stamped her right foot on the table as she looked down at Arjuna who was sitting at the bench.

"what did you say?"

She asked with what could pass as a smile covering her face. Her eyes on the other hand seemed to howl for blood and guts as she looked at Arjuna.

Arjuna paused and took a deep breath before raising his hands one more time in frount.

"Alright you know what, you don't have to answer that"

The brunette woman glowing green eyes eventually settled down to the normal blue color. The gusts of wind swirling around her started to settle down and her hair slowly fell down to her shoulders like normal.

"good," she said with a gleaming smile while elegantly taking her seat.

"what was your name by the way?"

She asked while taking a clipboard from the table that stood in between her and Arjuna.

"Arjuna" He said reached out with his hand.

The brunette woman let out a wry smile and took Arjuna's hand

"Rina" she said "Rina Phisatra" she said as she leaned back against the bench with the clipboard in her hands.

"so Arjuna, I'm guessing Sninkkaakac sent you here for the exact same thing he said he would ages ago"

She said while spinning her hand. A small whirlwind of light green wind appeared above her hand she looked at Arjuna with a small grin.

"the wind element right?"

Arjuna only nodded slightly mesmerized by the mini whirlwind above her hand.

Rina let out a chuckle and snapped her fingers. The whirlwind dispersed into the air ruffling Arjuna's raven black hair. She looked at Arjuna with an appraising eye as she leaned back against the bench. Eventually, she let out a small chuckle which grew to a loud laugh.

"his first pupil, and it's a human of all things! haha I can't believe it, but there it is, the seed of darkness in your body, well since he's given you your foundations in the darkness element, it's only fitting that I give you the foundations in the wind element."

Arjuna cocked his head

"Are you a Nightfall Archer also?"

Rina smiled and shook her head.

"no, I'm not part of that group I couldn't handle the hide in darkness and never show your face part of it, I'm doing my own thing, honestly I believe you should also do that, I'm not sure why you are so fixated on the Nightfall Archer class, I don't know what you did to get Sninkkaakac to give you a chance, but even though it comes with lots of power it comes with a lot of restrictions that many will not enjoy"

Arjuna quietly asked

"such as?"

"Nightfall Archers were made to protect elves, those who become Nightfall Archers are bound by oath to protect all of elven kind no matter the cost, and as a human I'm sure that you must have some sort of disgust of elves"

Arjuna nodded his head. The elven kingdom was very close to the Nightshade empire so he was fine with taking a few trips there, besides he had to admit traveling to the elven kingdom sounded like an awesome adventure.

"I am fine with that, another one of my companions, who is in fact trying to become a Nightfall Archer, is also an elf and though she's a bit annoying she's pretty cool"

Rina cocked her head in slight confusion, she hadn't seen a human with no prejudice against elves, for a very long time. But the way that the young boy in frount of her spoke with absolutely no malice of disgust towards them.

"interesting" she muttered to herself quietly, a small mischievous grin passed her face

she looked up at Arjuna

"well seeing that you are going to be protecting the elven race I might as well show you this"

Saying that she turned her head to show Arjuna her ear pushing some of her brunette hair away. Arjuna squinted in confusion as he looked at it. It was a perfectly normal human ear with rounded edges.

She lifted her hand up and swept it past her ear as her fingers passed her ears. A multi-colored shimmer appeared over her ears slowly revealing a pointed ear.

Arjuna quickly realized what the pointed ear meant.

Rina turned back to Arjuna covering her ear again with a shimmer of light emitted from her fingertips.

"I dabble a bit in light illusion magic" she said smiling

"anyways," she said placing the clipboard on the table "remember when you make that vow, I'm part of it," she said tilting her head and grinning.

Arjuna couldn't help but laugh

"yes," he said while trying to suppress his giggles.

Rina stood up walking over to the door. She turned to Arjuna as she walked over.

"ill meet you and your partner in frount of this building tommorow, bring your gear, and prepare for a bit of an expedition."

Arjuna nodded, Rina smilled and left the room.

Arjuna could hear the sound of footsteps rush over to where Rina was. A tired and alarmed female voice exclaimed

"Miss chairman! there you were, we were wondering where you went dragging that black-haired boy away."

Another quieter and more reserved question asked Rina outside of the room

"i-is that boy okay?"

Rina let out a small laugh and answered the two of them

"don't worry, I just discovered the pupil of an old bastard that I used to know"

The other two women let out a gasp and pressed closer to to ask for details

The group of three continued to talk outside of the door. Arjuna facepalmed as he realized that he couldn't really open the door and walk out while the 3 were talking about him.

Thankfully there was a window in the room and he quickly walked over and opened it. It was already nighttime and the cool breeze hit Arjuna as he opened it.

It seemed he was on the second story and as Arjuna looked down at the streets of the city of twilight he could see the small lights of the fireflies floating around the streets illuminating them in a warm glow.

With a grin on his face, Arjuna slipped out through the window and leaped through the rooftops with the glow of the fireflies on the streets below and the festivities of the city of twilight all around him.
