(Chapter 7)

In one of the streets with few people passing by, two men can be noticed walking side by side.

For a few minutes of not talking to each other. Shyrveen was the one to break the silence. "By the way, congratulation for your mother to wake up from Eternal Slumber, Jin-Ah said about the situation of your mother when I asked why she was alone in your home when I helped her for the third time, if you're wondering why I knew."

"... Thanks, Hyung-nim. And don't worry about it, most of the people already know about that kind of illness now."

"Yeah... It will be good if my family were in that state though..." Shyrveen wished softly inside of his lack of emotional voice.

"... I'm so-" Sung Jin-Woo can't find a word about what to say to him. He realized what Shyrveen means that his family was no longer exists today.

"Don't..." Shyrveen shook his head and didn't let Sung Jin-Woo to finish the word. "Just protect them at all costs because you might end up like me... A coward... That left them behind... Just to save my own life, more than anyone else... And now, has been cursed of that sin... Haunted by the guilt every day... Lost everything..." He said simply while pulled out a cigarette and light it up.

"... Then... Why do you have this determination to live? I'm not insulting you Hyung-nim but I just want to know what is this thing that drove you to keep living and move on..." Sung Jin-Woo asked sincerely and can already imagine what was the life of this man beside him. Even himself is picturing himself inside the shoe of this man with his mother and sister... And it's already making his blood boil and will seriously take the path of this man too... Or might even worst if he didn't meet the system.

"... Hee... Move on..." Shyrveen repeated the word sarcastically. "I'm not moving on or trying to accept their deaths while I was the cause of it... But it's better to say that I'm moving back to follow them... I seek power and to get stronger to be freed and be killed and follow them in the afterlife." Then blow a ring of smoke after saying it.

"That's-! But Hyung-nim!" Sung Jin-Woo was shocked for this man's mind, for how he can have a reason something like this. 'Seeking to get stronger but only to be killed to redeemed himself... What a mind... Even I, don't have this kind of thinking...'

"I know, it's a disgrace to the above than for being thankful for I'm still alive. But what's the use of it if I already accepted my fault and embracing the guilt with open arms? Life... I will decide on my life for what will be its purpose now... And not them." Shyrveen said softly about his thoughts and pointed his index finger to the sky then continues. "I respect and believe at them, but they are not my family and so not my priority. I won't seek them for it's my fault and not theirs... I'll find my own ways to be freed from my own sin by myself... Even if it takes me forever..."

Sung Jin-Woo can only sigh for hearing an unbelievable thing. 'I want to cheer him up... But I don't know how... Better change a topic.'. "By the way, Hyung-nim. Just call me Jin-Woo."

Shyrveen stopped and stared at him. "Seriously, you Koreans are really so strict about the matters related to age... But, fine. I'm the one who's in your country and not the vice versa. And so, I'll follow." And shrugs his shoulder to him.

Sung Jin-Woo can only scratch his head about this. "And if it's okay with you... Can I asked about..." He hangs his words like that while searching for the right word to talk about God's Sanctuary without exposing the system.

Shyrveen glance at Sung Jin-Woo and already had a hint of what he wants to ask about. 'But how come he had doubts about it? No matter how you looked at the eagle, it can only be considered weird... And will be forgotten soon or not that much mysterious to the likes of this Sung Jin-Woo who is now an S-Rank Hunter... He's too much curious about it unless... He found something that I can't see in the eagle...'. "... Say the one word for me to make sure what you're talking about then."

"...". 'Shit. He's sharp. How did I get exposed?... If I answered him about the sanctuary. It will only prove what he's thinking... But If I asked about the eagle, he might decline. Which I'll be stuck for being curious about it... With me, leaving no choice to force it out from him, but I'm not that kind of person... Eh? Did his question had a lot of traps for me to exposed about the system while using my considerate attitude since I still have my family?... Is he a 'Player' too?...' Sung Jin-Woo thought while trying to answer in a safe manner but only to conclude the thing in the last.

Silence loomed over them for a couple of minutes until they reached where the apartment of the Sung Family first.

Shyrveen looks at Sung Jin-Woo then tap his shoulder and said. "Then, I'll be going now, Jin-Woo."

"Alright, Hyung-nim." Sung Jin-Woo can only accept the defeat today. 'But it doesn't mean that I can't follow him using my shadow.' He summoned another High Orc Shadow and orders it to protect Shyrveen and observe him at the same time. 'This will do...' He said to himself to believe that it's for the new friend's sake... And he doesn't want to be that rude to him...

For Sung Jin-Woo, it's fine to use this to strangers like what he did to the Hunters that will participate tomorrow in the raid. But since Shyrveen is now considered friend, for now. It's hard to think that he is like a stalker, so he tried to lessen the feeling while reasoning like this as he summoned a shadow for Shyrveen.

As for Shyrveen, after he got into his apartment, he looked down on his own shadow, picturing the blurred black shadow thing that he saw that came out from Sung Jin-Woo when he talked to the attacker. '... Does he felt threatened by my presence for his family and sent a watcher?' He can only sigh and let it be. As long as he didn't say anything related to the sanctuary for another three days before he will be teleported, Sung Jin-Woo will be stuck about the curiosity he got to the eagle... 'But it's hiding within my shadow... Hmm... We will see if the watcher will be included when I teleported, but it will be good if it doesn't happen though...' He can only pray and wish about it until the day come.

After organizing the meats again inside his refrigerator, he cook and ate the Primitive meats that Han Sen gave him.

'Swift Mantis flesh was eaten. Four Primitive Geno Points gained.'

'Copper-Toothed Beast flesh was eaten. Two Primitive Geno Points gained.'

Shyrveen stops his spoon inside his mouth after gulping the first bite that made the voice in his mind said about the meats. 'Huh? Two meats of different creatures, and both Primitives too?... That man, seriously...' He can only shake his head for how good Han Sen to him but can't smile about it, and can only gobble down all the meats he cooked.

Shyrveen Yñiguez: Not evolved

Status: None

Life span: 200 Years

Required for evolution: 100 Geno Points

Geno points gained: 69 Ordinary Geno Points, 8 Primitive Geno Points

Beast souls gained: Ordinary Black Beetle, Ordinary Illusionist Snake, Ordinary Azure-Tailed Eagle

'I got 8 points from the half of the Primitive meats that Han Sen gave me... But I'll expect that the rest of the meat will only be worth 3 to 5 points... For faster gaining points. I should aim for different kinds of creatures with small physiques and statures to kill and eat their meats for the surety of the higher points since Han Sen said too that the bigger the body of the creature, the harder the points to be gained from them...'

After eating his dinner, he did all the things around the room and went to sleep, because he was tired from going to his workplace to give the resignation letter then went to the house of the landlady who owns the apartment for the advance payments for the rent and lastly to the archery club to test out the bow of the Beast Soul of Azure-Tailed Eagle that he got.

Next day.

Shyrveen woke up earlier and readied himself to go back to the association for picking up the arrows made of the feathers of the eagle and some alloy to make it longer.

He and the association made a contract that he will buy the three-fourths of the arrows for sixty percent consumer goods price while the one-fourth will be given to them. At the time of appraising, the feathers were tested of their properties and Shyrveen and the personnel are both shocked and stunned for realizing that a good archer with skill while using the arrows is enough to penetrate a D-Rank monster or if it's used in a one-time shot, it will be enough to hurt or better kill a C-Rank monster.

And they're talking about the Pseudo Monster materials. An animal without Magical Core but much higher quality than E-Rank.

For the personnel of the association, this can be really a good thing for a business but still shocked to be unbelievable to see such thing to exists that breaking the common sense about the monsters that already been established for a decade. But still not enough to be taken seriously since it's already the time for the raid at the Jeju Island, and so, only noted by them and will be told to the chairman once the raid is finished. Unless the materials of the eagle can help for the S-Rank Gate Raid, that's where this thing will be prioritized.

Add that the feathers that they're talking about that can penetrate C-Rank monsters were the blue feathers but compared to the brown feathers, the brown feathers are lower by one rank.

But for Shyrveen, he was stunned and already calculating and changing the details if he compared the creatures and monsters from each other. 'So, the eagle wasn't called simply like Azure-Tailed because of the color but because it's the part of the eagle that had the highest quality compared to its other parts... Then for the Swift Mantises that Han Sen killed... Were their tendons?... I should write a diary about them... So, when Han Sen said about God's Sanctuary is the home of all kinds of horrible creatures. He is talking about this and not only for the creature's appearances that I thought for the first time... Add that this is only Ordinary creature... What would happen if Sacred-Blood's corpse's materials were brought in this world?... Total confusion and I might be hunted to spit out the whereabouts of the creatures and the God's Sanctuary...'

He closed the door and started walking towards the bus stop as he continues thinking. 'But I should use the association as the 'scientist' about the creatures from God's Sanctuary for a better understanding of their bodies, for the time being... And maybe I can use this information to create better weapons to be my substitutes after I used up all my Beast Soul's abilities... Maybe at that time too that I'm already an S-Rank Hunter that can protect myself or maybe be considered an important person in this world to be killed unless I'll do something like human extermination... After all, I didn't plan to die in the hands of the humans but by the worst monsters in this world...'

Shyrveen entered the association door just to see the big screen in the lobby that broadcasting the raid to the S-Rank Gate, that it's already started and the helicopters that carrying the S-Rank Hunters have made their way to Jeju Island.

The Hunters from each Guild of South Korea that isn't in the participation list to go inside the gate were requested to prepare themselves in whole South Korea. That was because even if the raid was successful, no one wants for the surviving monsters from the gate to reach the mainland.

Each defense force consisted of a B-Rank Hunter who will lead three C-Rank Hunter and ten D-Rank Hunters. There were even retired Hunters and even those who received awakenings, but decided not to become Hunter. And in total, there were five thousand of them which was the tenth of the entire population of the country that had awakened ability...
