One night

The walls fell in an instant. Atom was standing in the court yard as the dust and wind blew past him, overtaking the city.

Andi rushed out yelling, "Atom! Grandpa said it's bad!"

Rushing out the old man held nothing but a small satchel, "Andi grab the herbs I'll get the books - Atom!" He yelled "grab the martial Manuels!"

Quickly they broke and reassembled all at once Master Lee summoned the items into his magical bag.

As they set out the group could instantly see the chaos unfolding within the city.

An array of ice beast tore through walls as local cultivators tried to fend them off.

"Do we go to the shelter?" She asked looking to her grandfather.

As if stuck between a rock and a hard place he finally broke the silence; "we can't with the invasion they will test his blood..."

Atom unaware looked to his master as from over the wall a snow fox launched.

In the blink of an eye the old master turned to face the beast - the two clashed in a spray of blood, the snow fox tumbled across the ground dripping with blood before retreating violently.

"Ah!" Andi screamed as she saw the first fish of blood leave her loved one.

The snow was a white canvas as he fell, the two scrambled to help but the deep wound would not let up.

In Atoms arms while Andi stabbed he watched his masters breath.

"We.." he began stuttering "We .... w... we need to..." looking around at the destruction the shock began to fade "we need to get to the shelter!" He finally uttered.

"We can't ..." Andi cried "your blood, the beast ... it was the only way to save you but..." finally her voice came; "they will kill you, to them your... your just... just a beast..." she wept.

Without hesitation Atom stood, grabbing his masters satchel he gently placed it in Andi's hands; "this is all you have of him keep it safe, now..." looking around he took charge "we can't stay here and if we can't hide in the city it's time to flee...

Atom drew his sword with one hand and grabbed Andi with the other; "We need to get as far from this city as possible follow me..."

The pair rounded the street and made a break for the gate. Few guards noted the pair as they already began withdrawing towards the city formation. While their was only a few beast in the area, they were all earthly level, while Atom couldn't slay any he was able to fend of a few Ice Ows while protecting Andi.

"There will be more in the woods, I don't think we'll make it..." Andi sobbed as the gate game into sight.

Sheathing his blade Atom pulled the shocked girl in speaking clearly as he let his Qi flow through his voice; "This place isn't our home anymore." Turning back to the gate he pulled out a beast core wrapped in small rings.

As he infused his Qi into the object an immense power began to flow out. The rings expanded as they began to orbit the core. Lifting his hand the Orbital rings took flight with the beast core, freeing up Atoms hands. The pressure it released displaced the icy cold and Atom withdrew his two short swords.

"Look at my back and nowhere else." As he took his first step forward the orbital rings in tow Andi to took her first step. "As long as your close enough for me to reach I won't let anything happen to you..."

Passing through the destroyed gate the couple was met with an onslought of beastial Qi as the reserve pack stated huddled outside the gate surrounding their leader an enormous frost bear, who simply radiated power.

"Stay close..." He said taking a blade across his shoulder the cut landed on top a tattoo. All at once the first seal was lifted and a surge of Qi came forward. The orbital rings began channeling a flow of energy into the boy as he progressed forward each step quicker than the last.

As Andi ran full strength towards his back she witnessed a miraculous sight. Slashing is swords wildy and pouncing from beast to beast - Atom tore into the horde of snow beast.

Wounding and even killing some beast Atom made his way towards the center before all at once stabbing both swords in the ground and dashing backwards.

Grabbing Andi and moving all his Qi towards his legs he carried himself and the girl across the horde to the back of the wood.

As the animals turned in surprise he yelled "Run!" and without hesitation she did. To scared to look back she never noticed Atom did not follow. To scared to look she never saw Atom draw the twin short swords at his back and lunge once again into the mouth of the wild beasts.
