H.A.L.O. test

The jet engine was loud as three H.A.L.O.s looked out the back of an open drop door. "Your both strapped with 'Fizzle Engines' they won't meltdown but fizzle out, furthermore they don't have the same power output so manage your capacitor loads and output properly." Taking his unit to the side their instructor pointed out the drop door; "The northern island has been ravaged backed in the calamity war, just mutated beast can survive out there. Stay sealed in your H.A.L.O. no matter what happens! Will! You're dropping first... Go! Go! Go!"

All at once Will initiated his H.A.LO. launching out the bay door in a blast of wind.

"Yuri! Go! Go! Go!"

In a similar fashion Yuri launched her H.A.L.O. out the drop door. Watching the two descend, their instructor jumped out in pursuit.

Every year top students would earn the opportunity from each school to preform a test outside the walls. The Empire focused all its satellites around their boarders and kept very little intel even on the northern section of the nation. The Calamity war to the empire had turned this island into a wasteland. It was both barren and dangerous.

Will landed first, initiating his thrusts upon approach he slowed his speed still slamming into the ground. Dust flied around as he looked up to see the flairs of Yuri's H.A.L.O. off in the distance - a second quake reached his unit before the third.

Over the radio their instructors voice could be heard, "Keep to the coast but you can travel freely within 25km - if you see a mutated creature call for assistance, we tackle fights tactically..."

The two split up, Will headed along the tree line before darting into and out of the woods. Yuri worked her way across the sand and shore testing her movement and controls.

This was a golden opportunity for Yuri. She was definitely book smart but coming from a poor family lacked the practical experience that came with wealth and status. Pushing in and out working her way to the edge of the coast line, off in the distance - over the water she saw the great wall. Having grown up in the northern provinces of the empire she often wondered at the gate, thankful for how it ended their Calamity war yet always wondering just how it would feel to be standing where she was now.

"Help..."

Yuri straighten the unit and began pushing it back and forth using the capacitor system to accelerate faster and faster.

"Help... Please..."
