City

When Armin saw the walled city he then started to move slightly faster and as he got closer he saw a line of people standing at the gate. He noticed a total of twelve people standing in front of the gate, once Armin arrived he heard a commotion from an old man basically wearing rags pleading to a man wearing Armor.

"Sir what do you mean twenty copper coins to enter?! It was only five coppers a few days ago! How am I supposed to get home now!?"

The man wearing armor said with an annoyed face.

"I don't care if you get home if you can't pay the entrance fee then go to the mines and earn the coins! If you don't pay or leave within the next ten seconds I'll remove you by force if I have to."

The two men continued talking as the old man pleaded to let it side and he will pay the fee the next day when he gets paid. The guard simply ignored the man and after ten seconds he spoke up.

"Take this fine gentleman to the mines and if he keeps talking brake a finger for every time he speaks!"

Armin just watched as the old man was dragged off in what he assumed was the direction of the mines and at first, he frowned but without even realizing, the skill mind of an Emperor activated and he soon stopped caring and he continued to wait in line.

As Armin continued to wait and slowly move forwards it was finally his turn and when the guard told him he had to pay twenty copper coins he instantly handed him the coins and he was let into the city. Once Armin entered the city he frowned as he looked around at some signboards.

'Fuck... They speak English but they write in a different language that I don't know?'

Suddenly the system responded with.

[Actually, I've been translating it for you and I'm surprised you didn't notice. What? You thought a different planet would speak the same language as you? ]

Armin was honestly surprised as he truly didn't notice any difference but he then said.

'Well, can you translate there writing as well? How am I supposed to know what they are if I can't read the signs?'

[Fine...]

All of a sudden the unknown writing slowly turned into the English and he could finally read the sign.

'Tavern?'

But what Armin didn't notice was that a golden glow was shining from his eyes but the amount was so small that no one would notice unless they were looking directly into his eyes.

Armin then continued to walk around when he found something that interested him. He noticed a sign saying that a sect would be recruiting within the city for any talents available and to his luck that day was today!

As he continued to read he figured out that it would be taking place within the arena for the participants to fight to see who would be lucky enough to join.

Armin then started to make his way towards the arena but he first had to find it... He then looked around to see if the arena was like a large Colosseum but he didn't notice any buildings that resemble it. Armin then decided to ask for directions and walked up to a woman that was walking nearby.

"Excuse me but could you tell me the direction to the Arena?"

The woman simply smiled and said.

"I'm actually on my way there myself so how about we go together? My name is Ava evergreen what's yours?"

Armin quickly thought for a moment but he soon said.

"Armin Foll, nice to meet you?"

Ava suddenly thought.

'I don't believe I've ever heard of the Foll clan... But maybe it's a secret clan? I'm sure that he's from a prominent clan as I've never seen such interesting clothes before...' (Imagine an outfit from Earth than its suddenly in a medieval setting. It would most likely look 100x better than any noble outfit from that time.)

The duo then made their way towards the arena as they continued to talk about things.

"So are you here to participate in the tournament Armin?"

"Well why not it'll give me something to do I guess"

Ava was surprised by what he said and responded with.

"So you didn't originally come here for the sect tryouts? If that's the case mind if I ask what you are doing here?"

Armin simply said.

"I'm uh... I'm just traveling around and I came across this city and I'm currently resting here after a few days of roaming."

Armin quickly made up a lie and made it sound scripted. Armin then said.

"What exactly do I have to do there? Any sort of tests or?"

As they were walking Ava put her hand up to her chin like she was trying to remember something.

"Apparently there doing things differently this year as they are letting anyone participate as long as they pay the fee. No cultivation test is required this time.

Armin then raised an eyebrow and said.

"But what happens when a supposed Genius gets put up against someone way stronger than themselves if they don't sort out the participants?"

Ava then said.

"Well, that's what's different as this year there allowing the skill known as 'luck'. It won't matter if you're a Genius if your unlucky and find yourself fighting against spirit beast that way stronger than yourself."

Armin then started to think.

'Haha, will I finally meet the legendary young master of an important clan?'

Armin smiled and said.

"This is gonna be fun!!"

The duo continued to talk as Ava kept trying to find out Armin's origins but she could never get a confirmation from him. They both soon arrived at the arena and Armin noticed a couple of figures wearing fancy clothes while others were wearing suits of armors and so on.

Armin followed Ava as she went up to a counter and handed the person fifty silver coins and said.

"I'd like to participate please."

The person simply grabbed the coins and handed Ava a card with a number on it along with a piece of paper as she started to fill out her details such as name, age, and an optional section for if she wanted to list her clan. Armin then did the same and also received a number and when he walked back over towards Ava she suddenly asked.

"What number are you?"

Armin just turned his card towards her and when she saw it she smiled and said.

"Number 301? I've got 269, I suppose we will hopefully meet in the finals?"

Armin just smiled as they walked into the arena.
