After learning how to use my new robotic limbs I had to wonder if I was some kind of android or was I technically a cyborg it was a minor distinction but it seemed important enough to contemplate while I walked awkwardly like a toddler on unsteady legs. I found out my carapace was built of a titanium alloy and around my circumference there were tools hidden away in various concealed slots which made me think of a certain sci-fi droid. Yeah I'd become some kind of astromech droid ha look at me now mom I'm a real robot hahaha it took some getting used to but I eventually got pretty good at moving around and when I got to the point where I wasn't falling every so often sis switched me to my own internal sensors and then I had to learn how to use my limbs while I now had a different perspective it was a little bit of a challenge though I did appreciate the fact that I had both a wide array of visual sensors and a radar system of some kind it actually allowed me to move with greater precision.

After becoming used to my new body I was given a series of small tasks basic things really that were designed to be easy but a challenge at the same time and oh boy were they can you imagine trying to open a plastic bottle of soda with fat metal tube like fingers yeah it's a bit of a challenge though I did figure out that I had a decent force feedback system in the process. Yeah my metal arse could let drink anything or eat anything the only sense of flavor I now got was in the power I was absorbing pretty much like a spectrum from sweet vanilla to unpleasant lemon and anything in between the cleaner the power stream the sweeter it was interesting fact number 3 lol.

Soon I was running around my little room exploring my various systems and starting to enjoy myself honestly though I was more upset about never tasting food again than anything else I honestly think I would miss flavor more than anything else and then I found out from sis that I could "taste" things with my arms and legs as they were so I tasted everything and I will admit it was weird I could taste things and I would taste it like it would have tasted in my human body but then I'd get a complex and complete listing of the objects material stats from what it's composition was down to the second decimal place and could technically get even further but I really didn't want to know.

Soon I was told to exit the orientation room and head for my debriefing which ended up with me waiting in a small room with a large screen on the wall and as I looked at it I received another shock I now had its specifications if I had the tools and raw material I could build one, this would take even more getting used to than I thought. After a long minute of silence the display came on and a human stood in the middle of it and started telling me all about the program and what the goal was etc it was rather boring tbh the guy could talk forever and so when he came to how I was involved I was almost not paying attention.

Turns out I died and my brain was saved and frozen and now here I am a brand new ai installed in a hentai nightmare yay me I'm so lucky not. My mission was to travel to another star system and begin building a wormhole gate on my end so I was going to be stuffed in a rocket and launched while my mind was put into sleep mode oh joy. So that's how I ended up traveling to a brand new world a week later and then I woke up mid flight my transport had apparently taken enough damage that it was not operating correctly and would now take three hundred years to reach my destination oh joy. I studied my heavily damaged starship and was underwhelmed it was a modified rocket with some ion drives slapped on the side which I studied and quickly had the specs of apparently the main plasma motor had taken damage and so my speed was drastically reduced so now I had two options salvage the rocket and build something useful or just wait out the next 300 years nope sorry I'm not sitting around for 300 years I'd go insane so I salvaged everything I could without changing the guidance system and currently propulsion system that being the ion drives.

I managed to fabricate up a pair of modified plasma drives about half the size of the original but they had about 2% greater thrust than the original but they certainly would not last long maybe a couple weeks before they would burn out. I plugged the modified plasma drives into the guidance system and turned the works on and got almost knocked out of my now threadbare ship as it started cruising at a significantly higher acceleration than before now I just hoped it would be enough. It turns out I have horrible luck exactly two weeks after my improvisation both of the new plasma drives burned out within minutes of each other thankfully I was now only Yeah only 197 years from arriving at my destination fml I'd need some more material if I was going to get to my destination before I lost my mind from boredom. I tore apart both of my plasma drives and started tinkering around and managed to create a magnetic net a couple of au's wide and I waited like a spider in its web and I didn't keep track of time but what must have been a month later I looked out at my net and realized that my fishing expedition had caught a prize as a couple small asteroids hopefully rich in the metals I needed.

Reeling in my prizes took a bit more effort than assembling a couple super magnets and significantly more time but I soon had my asteroids in hand or is it tentacle either way I started using my tools to separate out the materials I needed and I soon had a couple lumps one of pure iron another much smaller lump of cobalt and a tiny little lump of silver and some crushed quartz crystal it would have to be enough so I got to work building my new and improved plasma drives. Yeah it took a while but I eventually had a couple working plasma drives out of it and I even managed to tweak them so they were now 3% more powerful than the original ones and 1% more efficient than my first pair and should last twice as long. I plugged them in and flipped the switch and off we were this time I hung on a bit tighter when I triggered the drives and didn't nearly become space trash and the drives worked perfectly and even produced a small amount of surplus energy thanks to the quartz crystals. The remainder of the journey was rather uneventful we arrived in system just before both plasma drives cut out within a hour of each other and had achieved a decent travel time of only 45 years I spent most of which designing a new starship and coming up with the absolute best possible systems and materials that I would need it ended up being rather tedious but I kept from insanity by doing a lot of research on space and space related technologies and between that and continually redesigning my starship I passed the first 15 years of my journey then once my starship was as refined as much as I could get I put myself into sleep mode and waited.
