Ch.4 Memories

That day after school so many memories from my past flooded me. We were so young, I lied so much. Why am I the one who has to be so different. I felt a tear roll down my face.

Then suddenly I remember how we had met. Back when I was only 6, when the islands of Izayia had just split leaving the Tribe of Darkness to the West, the Tribe of light to the East, and the Tibe of Sky to the North.

His father's boat had crashed on the island of the Light tribe, I am apart of this tribe. My mother always told me to never leave the village, but I did. One night I snuck out very early in the morning and went to the edge of the tree line, there was a boat!

I slowly crept over to the wreaked boat. There was a boy who was weeping, he looked cold and scared. I was not sure what to do, mother always told me

"If you ever come across a human do not approach them, we are their protectors, we may never consort with their kind."

As I crept closer to the boat he looked up and saw me.

"WHAT THE HECK!!" the boy moved to his feet "STAY AWAY! I AM WARNING YOU!" he took a step back bumping into the side of the boat.

" Don't worry I am here to help you, I am not going to hurt you." I said gently.

" I don't want or need your help." the boy said tears still streaming down his face.

I looked at the boy, " If you don't want my help then at least help me, my name is Myira, what is yours?" I said while moving slightly closer.

"Why should I tell you?" He said boldly.

"Because I told you my name." I said.

"Zack" the boy said suddenly, "My name is Zack."

"Very nice to meet you, Zack, how old are you?" I said in a clam tone

"6 I am going to turn 7 next month on the 24th." he said lowering himself to the ground.

Next month was June. I was born in January on the 15th. I walked over to him he didn't say anything to me, I sat next to him, still nothing. Moonlight bounced off the water and illuminated his face, tears rolled down his cheeks as he pulled his legs to his chest.

"What's wrong?" I asked politely.

"Why would you care to know?" he snapped back.

"Because I would like to know what happened." I said softly.

By the break of dawn we both had talked about what had happened to us on our small journeys. There was something I wanted to tell him that but it was my biggest secret yet...
