Ch.15 Island of Shadow

Anyira and I left my apartment, I found myself walking slightly faster than her. I don't know why, but I was excited to go to the island of Shadow.

Once we reached the beach I looked out off into the distance, the island looked so small but it is actually the largest of the 4 islands.

"Are you ready?" I asked Anyira with a smile.

I looked around to see if no human was watching us surprisingly there was hardly anyone on the beach. I felt my wings break through my shirt, I let them hang to my sides.

"I haven't flew for a while" she said looking at the ground, she looked sad.

"Well thats okay." I said.

"I haven't flew for so long I forgot how to." She started to tear up in embarrassment.

I looked at her blankly.

"I will carry you." I said smiling.

"Are you sure?" She said in a happier tone.

"Yes." I picked her up and began our journey to the island.

When Anyira's feet touched the ground of the island, she fell to the ground.

"Are you ok?" I asked worried.

"Yes I just haven't flew for a while." She said talking in deep breaths.

I walked toward the trees of the island. As I looked around I started to feel sad for no reason. When I looked back at Anyira she had gotten to her feet again, still breathing heavily.

As she joined me at the tree line, the feeling of sadness got deeper.

"Do you all of the sudden feel a strange sadness?" I asked her.

"No." She said looking at me, with a concerned look on her face.

"Let's go." I said stepping forward, she followed.

We made our through the trees, the feeling of sadness would leave, it tore at my soul. When we finally reached the center of the island. A purple hue was shining through some leaves. I walked over to it and moved the leaves out of the way. On top of a pedestal a purple stone glowed. Anyira walked over to it.

"Do you know what this is?" I asked.

"No, I don't" she replied.

She reached her hands out and touched it "OWWW!!" She yelped, yanking her off the stone.

"Are you alright!?" I said worried.

"Yeah." she said grunting.

I looked back at the stone. Should I touch it or not...?
