Ch.29 Light and Dark

As the blinding light fades from sight I begin to see two figures. I soon feel my feet land on the ground, I step forward sword drawn, I examine the figures mother, and Darbuse, but where is father?

Anger grew within me, what does he want from them?

"Zehlyia, grant me the power of light." Darbuse spoke in an angry tone.

"Why?" my mother yelled back, "I will not let you have my tribe!" my mothers voice even louder this time.

I crept off to the side to watch, I know mother would hate it if I were to intervene.

"What if I told you that your daughter is dead" Darbuse said with a smirk.

"What! No, No! How do you know that!" She spoke in a frantic tone.

"Because I am the one who killed her." Darbuse said still smirking. "So give me your tribe because no one else will be fitted to rule it." He said dropping his smirk.

"Never." she paused to breathe. "You may never rule this tribe for as long as I remain it's cheif." my mother said bravely.

"Very well, you have decided to join the rest of your tribe." Darbuse said raising his sword.

My mom clenched her fist, a sword of pure light appearing. Within seconds they tore in at each other Light and Darkness. It only took Darbuse seconds to knock my mom to the ground, she got up as fast as she could but it was not fast enough, Darbuse pointed his sword at her, she kept her eyes to the ground, was she surrendering?

My eyes bounced back and forth between Darbuse and my mom, I was beginning to feel worry.

"Surrender, you choose life or death." Darbuse said ready to strike at any moment.

"Never." My mom said looking up at Darbuse.

He smiled, took his sword in both hands and as if in slow motion swung his sword down a cracking sound came followed by a 'Whoosh!' my mom was flying! Her beautiful white and golden wings flapped evenly in the wind. I had never seen her fly before! I turned my attention back to Darbuse, a dark shadow surrounded him now.

The dark shadow began to take the form of wings he flapped them downward and sprang up toward my mom her sword ready. The sound of metal crashing together made me wonder what had happened to Darbuse that made him feel the need to do this to the other tribes.

Now in a sword lock my mother and Darbuse pushed at each other waiting for the other to break. They kept pushing and pushing until my moms sword slipped. Darbuse swung his sword up and then back down hitting my mom, launching her to the ground. She hit the ground so hard he sword was flung from her hands.

Darbuse landed himself and prepared to shoot her with malice. Malice could be deadly to light, I have to do something I thought to myself. My hand clenched my sword tighter I knew what had to be done...
