Melissa finds the microchip

"Oh yeah! Yesterday, I hit my leg on the side of the couch," Elina replied.

"Come and sit next to Cassie. I will clean your wound and apply some ointment." Melissa said.

Once she bandaged Elina's toe, she turned towards Cassie. The young lady sat there without any reaction. She looked afraid but tried to put on a brave front.

"Are you afraid?" Melissa asked Cassie.

"No, I just want to get this over with soon!" Cassie muttered.

"Alright, as you say, young lady! But remember, removing a microchip is not as easy as removing a splinter from your body. It's going to pain like hell. And I do not have any anesthesia with me. Will you be able to bear the pain?" Melissa asked.

"I hope so," Cassie replied.

Cassie tightened her hold on the sides of the bed. She knows she must be brave enough and not show her weak side to anyone. But by just looking at the big knife that was kept on the nightstand, made her nervous.
