Harvie pondered a little and suggested which brought to the more surprise, "Are you challenging me?"
Renir nodded without hesitation. Imee's tug on his uniform was not changing his mind.
"No! That boy just hit his head!"
A shout was disregarded while Harvie accepted, "Sure, but since I am the challengee, can I decided what we will fight in?"
"No" Renir spoke solidly, "We will fight fist to fist. You can only decide and where." he raised his fist.
Instead of just simple tugging, Imee was already pinching Renir's back which still had zero effect.
Everyone that saw that scene thought, 'He's an IDIOT!'
How could you want to challenge a black belter to a fist to fist when you fall just from his slight push? That's SUICIDE.
"No, no, you misunderstood me. I intend to include fist to fist from the start."
"So you want more than one way to fight?"
"Correct, so that you have a chance in having me a tie. There will be two rounds; first is the fistfight and" Harvie pointed at his head, "One who score the better in the incoming exam this Wednesday wins the second round!" he then pointed at Renir, "If ever the match will end up in a tie, we can talk again about a tiebreaker."
For everyone, Harvie's overflowing confidence made them hear "There's no need for a tiebreaker since you wouldn't have a chance."
"Okay" Renir accepted it.
"Okay, then" Harvie was about to turn around but then put his hand on Sian's shoulder.
"Huh?" Sian reacted.
"But this guy's your opponent for the fist to fist match." Harvie leaned forward towards Sian if they were good friends.
"HUH?" Sian reacted again, not only him but the whole canteen was shocked, but he had nothing to say when he made eye contact with the Alpha.
"Are you up?" Harvie sharply said towards Renir.
Renir's eyes closed a little, there was a short pause before he answered, "Fine, you are the one who's making the decision here."
"Sure, since you have fractured bones, let your fistfight be a month after this day." Harvie then turned around and walked away. His Pack followed him.
As they got out, teachers were walking towards the canteen with fast and huge strides. They walked with angry faces.
"You! Why are you not in class?!" a chubby teacher whose strict pointed at Harvie.
"Oh, we were on our way, Ma'am." Harvie smiled and the teachers realized that it was the Alpha.
No matter how strict she was, she became soft to this multi-talented student, who was one of the few students that were making the school's reputation skyrocket.
"Okay" the teachers nodded and walked past by their group. Then chubby teacher and the other teachers entered the canteen and saw it was filled with students. They were about to roar at these students but Imee walked towards them with a sour mood.
"Teachers, there's no need to worry about. I just talked to them for a few minutes. It's my fault for not hearing the bell. We were about to go back to our classes." her words were polite but her face was cold.
But the teachers had nothing to say, except, "O-oh, if you say so, Imee." they then walked out, powerless...
"Umm, Imee? Are you angry?" Renir scratched his head as he spoke.
"Yes," Imee glanced back, "Because this is the first time I was late for class."
"O-oh."
Students were getting out of the canteen. As they passed by in front of Imee, they subconsciously bowed.
The scenario of them bowing when passing in front of a teacher in the middle of a class popped in their heads. As someone who seemed to be greatly respected by the teachers, they subconsciously did it when Imee was speaking.
'Woah, they are like herds of ducks.' Renir thought of this but then heard Imee said;
"See me when it's lunchtime at the gate," she said before walking away.
"Ah, Imee. Are you really not angry at me?" Renir followed her.
"Hmph!" Imee just harrumphed and didn't look back.
Hearing this, Renir thought, 'Why is she so respected when she acts tough like a child like this? Which I don't hate.' seeing the angry Imee, it made Renir like her more, 'Cute!'
.....
While on their way to class Travis asked Harvie, "Dude, why did you make that kind of match? You could easily defeat him. You even gave him so much advantage, are you actually a saint?"
"Advantage? You're really stupid, huh?" Harvie shrugged his shoulder, "Right, guys?" he looked at his Pack.
"Yeah, you couldn't even understand that, Travis?" the girl who acts overly cute butted in as she laughed.
"Cheh! So you think you understand, Cait?" Travis fought back.
"Ugh" Cait, the girl who acts overly cute had her eyes drifting away, "No..."
The others laughed at this.
"Huwawaw~~, so you think any of you know it?" Cait flailed her hands and glared at the others.
"Heh, I can explain it." one boy with a perm hair raised his hand, "Harvie looked like he gave that wimp an advantage but in actuality if Harvie himself fought the fistfight. It would be lose-lose whether he win or not, not saying he will lose though."
"Eh? What do you mean by that?" another man with brown skin asked. The group was now nearing their classes as they walked at a slow pace.
"That is because a hundred percent of the people knew that Harvie will win the match no matter what happens. So him, winning would look like he's bullying that wimp. So by letting another wimp fight another, Harvie's reputation wouldn't decrease but in fact, increase because he held back. But that's not all. It's a win-win for Harvie because even if the kid he chose loses, it would barely be Harvie's fault. But who do you think will lose to someone titled as the Indestructible Wimp?"
"Ohhh, is that right, Harvie?" Travis asked.
"I guess..." Harvie nodded.
"So what about the exam thing?"
When the group reached Harvie and the others' classroom, they stopped.
"Hm? You know the answer to that." Harvie said before entering the class and said, "See you. Same spot later."
"Sure, Harvie!" the Pack then dispersed as they waved.
"Oh" Travis sighed as he understood after a moment of thought what Harvie meant, 'So you just don't want to lose, huh?'
.....
Renir was now walking alone along the hallway to his class. He and Imee separated not too long ago since they have different classrooms.
When he was about to reach his classroom, he saw the trio that bullied him before. One of them, Sian spoke arrogantly;
"Looks like I was chosen by the Alpha to beat you up, huh, wimp?" he had a big smug face.
"Heee… you're proud of that..." Marvic said, uncaring. He and Ken seemed annoyed by Sian's acting.
"Oh-oh-oh? Are you two jealous?"
"Oh, shut up." Ken pinched Sian's ear, "We're already at the classroom."
Renir, on the other hand, ignored them. He then sat on his chair, deep in his thoughts.
While pondering, he noticed the subject teacher standing in front of him.
"You finally noticed me. You must have a lot to think about, but we are in class. And if you did not hear me earlier, I said that your adviser wanted me to tell you to meet him at the faculty after today's class."
Renir just nodded.
Whispers broke out as the students who were in the canteen were excited to spread the news but was immediately stopped;
"Didn't I just say that we are in class?!" the chubby teacher yelled at the others but one student raised her hand and said;
"But ma'am, this is about Renir and the Alpha back in the canteen. I saw what happened there."
"I saw that too."
"Me too"
They just raised their hand one after another.
"Oh, care to explain." but even the strict teacher was gripped by that event.
'Seriously?' Renir rolled his eyes to the side as the whole class listened to that one female classmate that told the story…
A few moments later…
"Renir, you really said that?! You think you can win against the Alpha?!" the chubby teacher was on the verge of laughter.
"No, I don't need to think about that." Renir just glanced at the teacher, 'Ah... my stomach still hurts.'
Sian sitting at the back with Marvic and Ken had a big smile, he whispered, "Why would you think about it if you're going to lose to me, anyway?"
"Hmm, you look like a different person, Renir. Care to explain what happened to you in these past two weeks? And you have to give each subject teacher a letter of excuse or else your ten absences can make you fail this semester." now that the class became of story-telling, the chubby teacher asked about something that the whole class, if not the whole school, was curious about.
"But ma'am, it's a long story." Renir replied while holding his belly, "I'll just give it to you after making it."
"Fine, you should pass that letter of excuse after class and no more than that." the teacher then turned around and said, "Now, back to the lesson..." which attracted groans from the class as they enjoyed the story-telling.
An hour passed by quickly but for Renir, it was like a while day. He stared outside the window and thought,
'Is this how boring my everyday life before?'
The morning class then ended with the school bell.
